You clearly never played Prisoner of Azkaban on PS2. You had to sneak past trolls at certain points in the game.

I am crying. Every sound. Every graphic. Everything is so nostalgic. In my little kid’s head, it used to be the safest, most magical place on earth. Every memory hits like a punch in the face. I missed my little paradise

The old style level design and low poly look is beautiful to me. I wish more games looked like this today. There's a blurry, cozy feeling to it. I love how colourful the lighting can be, and how moody and dark some areas of the world are. The bottomless black pits below stirred my imagination as a kid.

exactly. I don't enjoy the new games as much as I like the old ones. There is a kind of magic in them. I love the gardens and the hidden passages that had a card in them. And also the hagrid mission with the forest, waterfalls and dragon eggs.

It's like first game on steroids: almost triple longer, closer to book, same engine but enhanced (still some errors, mostly in cutscenes - yeah, storytelling not through pictures, but actually in cutscenes), semi-open world - you can replay lessons to find secrets and cards, opened exploration of castle and yard. Exeption - plot quests, they're not replayable

I remember as a kid, I had a really short attention span and couldn’t read books. All my classmates were reading the first HP book and I wanted to be able to relate, so I played this game instead. They all looked at me kinda weird when I said “Hey, remember the part where Fred and George teach Harry to climb book cases?”

Elaine Smith it's odd because I've never seen a video game "Let's Play" without commentary. Commentary makes the view much more entertaining. Some of my favorite video game commentators are RadBrad & Ghostrobo, who are well-tempered by majority of the world. That being said, I can't stand people who disrespect them.

@@joshuagavile4775 My opinion on adding commentary is that it takes away from what some people actually look for, I don't want some goofy person making lame jokes or over-exaggerating reactions to silly glitches, surprising events or unexpected outcomes. Most commentating gaming channels have this static formula for 'funny commentary' and it makes the video 100x worse when all I care about is the actual game I'm watching. Early youtube videos of tutorials to do anything in a game had the game and text on screen to tell you exactly what to do and show you while not filling 8 minutes of unnecessary footage.

Yo WTF, the game is 4 hours? Took me like a year to finish it when I was little.

Was always stuck at the broom race with Malfoy, didn't know english back then so I didn't know that you could accelerate the broom. Frustrating really, but true childhood. Always thought that the castle was so creepy

@@eksdee2170 I was stuck on the broom race too! I knew English but I never read the instructions in the game so I didn't know you could accelerate the broom. When I figured out you could accelerate it, I didn't know you had to press the jump button when Malfoy's health got low to finish him off.

This game was the first game I ever completed. It's nothing special by today's standards, but it was (and still is) a masterpiece.

My dad had to help me out with that! One day while playing the game I got so mad enough for my sister to take me outside for a while to calm down and get some energy out (Was 7 years old at the time). When i got back I saw my dad playing the game I asked what part are you at? He said I finshed the game for you!! Not right but just gave up for the rest of the day after that

Well Hermione didn't actually award them; Flitwick did. The weird thing is that Flitwick didn't see Harry perform the spell. I like to think that Harry/Hermione told Flitwick about it sometime later, and the house points we see show up are "future house points".

It's cool because it was based on the book instead of the movie which makes for an interesting game

I first discovered this because my cousin owned it. She said Peeves, who was never in the films, appeared in the game, so when we visited her family in the spring of 2003 I played it for the first time and was hooked. I remember right when one of the twins says “you’re getting good at this” we had to leave and I was really upset, but I got to play it the next several times we visited. I played it during our visit in June when we went to see Finding Nemo in theaters...an experience I’ll always treasure!

Trivia: This game's music was done by the famous Jeremy Soule of Elder Scrolls and Skyrim fame. I didn't realize it for years, but in retrospect his style is absolutely unmistakable. Great music that really made the game for me.

I thought the score sounded a bit too much like Oblivion...

This game sets such a high bar for all the others to follow. There's something very fulfilling about just wandering through the magical mazes and doing simple spells. It's a very linear exploration game that gave us gamers a sense of freedom despite of the opposite. The soundtrack, color, and seemingly huge environment all worked very well in helping this game feel larger than it really was and at the time was a masterpiece.

Hi, thanks for the tips! Played this game as a kid, but unfortunately I managed to find 23 cards out of 25. Before, I didn't have internet back then, and now, I just now found out where I couldn't find the last 2 cards!

This game is actually better than 80% of games now OMG this game was a MASTERPIECE!!

I know it sounds ridiculous but i think this is the best harry potter game of them all and definitely one of my all time favourites. Even after 15 years I still remember the story, Wonderful soundtrack, the wizard cards, The secrets, the bean collecting, little fred and george and their antics ...It was just magical, and who can forget the broom riding and the quidditch. A new world to explore, new friends, new mentors like hagrid and professor Dumbledore,....We lived the game with Harry. Its hard to describe. No other harry potter game came close to this for me. It was simply Magical! ...

The villainous music for Draco goes so much harder than it has too. It's so rad.

So much memories... This game was literally magical at the time, and still is. Watching this just makes me smile a lot

I first played this game back in 2003 or so, and I've re-played it a few times over the past few years (most recent was Summer 2020). Hearing the music during the narrator cards at the beginning and end, the music when you step outside the castle, some of the music in the Flipendo and Lumos challenge, etc. gives me a giant feeling of nostalgia. It just makes me want to go back to the early-mid 2000s so badly.

Jeremy Soule's master piece that holds the entire game together!

Watching this after 18 years gave me chills, I swear…

if there was any game that i whole heartily wish would come to steam, it would be this game, my freaking childhood right here

i think that might be because 7 has compatibility mode and emulates xp software on occasion, but for me who uses windows 10, i have to use a virtual machine.

Just being nostalgic. Watching this game like exactly after 18 years. Such a classy game by EA . My computer was pentium III , 128 mb ram , 20 gb HDD, 16 MB graphics card. My goodness, time flies without wings. Will never forget this game & resident evil III.

I couldn't finish the fucking game I got the black screen after the battle with the troll. Nice to see the ending of this bad boy

I cant believe how it all came rushing back to my mind ! The sounds, the situations, the dialogies !

This bring back so many great and warm memories! I played this on Christmas break and it snowed outside almost the whole break, I would go outside in the morning and sled and build snowmen then come in and change into some warm clothes and hopped on this game I got for xmas and I was just so excited!!!

My grandma didn't know about Harry Potter series, she used to say that me and my cousins were playing the "priest" game, as the cape resembled her of priest ones. This game is a part of my childhood, my first pc game. Very good memories, and that magical music. I wish I could return and relive everything

I failed at the troll run enough times for Ron's "Harry, what's that smell?" to hypnotize me into being convinced of a real, truly awful smell appearing every time the troll came out... I even told my brother and family that the game was programmed to do it and they were like "wtf man"

To me, playing this game on PC, was one of the most magical experiences of my childhood. I had the game for game boy color as well, and though I loved it too, this one was just on a whole other level. I even enjoyed it more than the PS1 counterpart. I spent hours and hours playing this, with my sister. It just was so much fun. I had the opportunity to play these games again about two years ago, and I must say they hold up pretty well, however, Chamber of Secrets was BY far the greatest entry in all the games they made for the franchise.

I remember I must have been about 6 or 7 when me and my brothers played this, we kept dying during the troll run, and I had really bad gas. So every time Ron would go "Harry, what's that smell?" And every time my brothers would say it was me.

I could never make it past the moving platforms on the first level. I didnt understand that you had to jump on them as they were approaching and I would always jump as they were moving away. I got so I angry that I ended up having my dad do it for me.

-Be Filch. -Be a janitor in a wizard school. -Have no magic power at all. -Basically be almost the weakest person in the whole school. -During the nights,make trips at empty libraries. -On one evening, suddenly you begin hearing footsteps. -You notice, that somebody unlocks the magic doors as well. -You immediately run to these doors with a lantern in your hand. -You see nobody. -You start talking to the intruder. -Nothing happens. -Repeat the process a few times. -After a while, you realize you probably need some help, so you countinue your night trip with your cat. -The strange things are just coming and coming. -After 7/8? libraries you give it up. -Next day you continue your work, like nothing happened. Filch must be the braves man on earth.

he does have some magical power, otherwise Hogwarts wouldn't accept him, being a squib means you have a magical core but it's so very weak that you can't really cast magic or do anything but you can do very minor things like enter hogwarts or have familiars, but it's incredibly limited to how much you can do, but he gets alone fine

@@katakurifan5213 he can't use it, but he isn't without it, being a squib means your magical core is so weak you can't perform spells but you can see the magical world otherwise hidden from muggles and be allowed into magical areas like hogwarts

I like how you actually need to “learn” a new spell during lesson mini-game and then use it in the gameplay, instead of just buying it in the in-game store

I never finished this game as a child because it gave me nightmare vibes and I was terrified of falling into the darkness.

And chamber of secrets was a game that expanded on it. Except for quittich, which dumbed it down greatly. But i do remember never being able to get past the match against Slytherin with Malfoy

EA and maxis were the best gaming companies in my childhood, but then the ea bought the maxis and began its consumer assault process, today electronic arts is the worst game company. sad story of my life

The music for this is far better than it needs to be and adds so much to the atmosphere

How many memories are stored here , this music and sounds... still remember being fed as a kid by my grandma while getting a heart attack running away from Flitch and his cat .. Mrs Norris

I remember the amazing atmosphere of this game. Even though i´m not a big fan of the books, this game captured me.

@@feynstein1004 The first two games on pc had this atmosphere. When they changed the character models and the general graphical look of the game with Prisoner of azkaban it kinda lost its athmosphere for me a little.

Feynstein 100 Yeah, that's right. PoA wasn't that different from the first 2 games. But idk, I somehow liked the old style/models better. Quidditch World Cup for example I've never played. And yes, I'm not sure about GoF either. It was so linear, it wasn't really possible to explore Hogwarts like in the games before.

This video has brought back memories of my childhood! The creep through the library at night has to be one of the most thrilling things I've ever experienced in all the years I've been gaming. This was my first computer game ever! Back then I only had this game on my computer and wasn't even able to run this game smoothly, but I was so happy playing this game. Yet I have so many games I purchased on my steam account but none of that could satisfy me like old time.

Completely forgot about Dumbledore w/his rockin Wizard shades like he was an 80's rockstar...

Anybody else played this as a kid and thought that Harry sounded like he was saying “Nintendo” when casting Flipendo?

@@cindayin Until you got trapped in the bug. The final room is what the Filch chase levels so famous.

Those spell "follow along" moments were SO picky!!! I remember how frustrating it would be when you think you have it perfect but the recap blips out of nowhere. When you got 94% in the wingardium leviosa spell I was just as mad as when I played through when I was a kid. Thanks for the upload! I forgot how much I loved this game.

It is probably the most magical and charming game of my life/childhood. Even after 20 years it is still as magical as when I saw and played it for the first time. The music, colours, architecture and atmosphere is absolutely unique. All the details of coridors, rooms, candles, paintings.. The whole package did it. I do love very first "challenge" with Fred and George, underground adventure when searching for Snape ingredients and the night mission in library. And what is good - second game used many familiar motives from this one. Like returning to school after summer holidays. Big, big thumbs up.

I use to play this when I was 10. just about 12-13 years later- and this is still nostalgia to me

The year I played this game was the last when my dad was alive. I still remember I was a sophomore on winter vacation and had plenty of time to play and my dad was on days-off.

I always used to jump on the Wizard Cards at weird angles so Harry would walk backwards into the air or through a wall or whatever when he did his little ritual.

This game hit me right in the feels. Its a fun game full of adventure with a beautiful soundtrack. The only thing that upsets me is that it wasn't longer. Wish they could do a remaster of this game.

Getting past filch was anxiety inducing

I got this game for christmas as a kid and spent every waking hour the rest of the christmas break playing it; this game has always made me think of christmas since. Makes me feel warm and toasty and brings back that wonder I felt dreaming about getting the letter one day and getting to be a wizard at Hogwarts.

This brings back so many great memories. I remember playing the pc version with my dad when I was so young and he’d always help me get through parts I couldn’t figure out. Such a core memory

This game is what started my obsession with yellow lighting and a need for large bookcase filling every room.

Hogwarts in this game was SO much fun to explore. So many hidden passageways and secret nooks an crannies. Exactly how I imagined the real Hogwarts would be to explore. God I love this game.

What i love about all the Harry Potter games is the soundtrack! Such a masterpiece and nostalgia

i used to sit at the library every summer and play this on their computer, brings me back

All I remembered playing this game was Filch's constant "PLAGH, puheehhhh yeeeeeeaaaahhhh" :P
