Nilsson's "Coconut" will make you giggle!

You'll be freaking out when you hear "Without You," that's almost guaranteed. I dont think you're going to do "Jump Into The Fire" but you should. It's like "Without You" in my opinion. They are two of the greatest love songs in Rock n Roll. Coconut is great and headphones are mandatory but you already wear them.

I like the Badfinger original, with Pete Ham. It's lower-key, less histrionic, and, to me, emotionally richer. Harry kind of goes off the deep end with his version. But to each his own.

People of a certain age will recognize Nilsson's "Best Friend." It was the theme song for the TV show, "The Courtship of Eddie's Father." That was modified from his tune "Girlfriend."

Just wait until Without You. It is beautiful and haunting with such emotion. Every time I listen to Without You I choke up to this day. Just brilliant. You can hear the pain of what he was going through and it moves you. IMHO that's art. When you can connect emotionally with a song or a painting or a live performance of dance or music that's beauty and wonderful and what is all about. Loved this post.

Speaking of Harry Nilsson, take a listen to You're Breaking my Heart. This song is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.

Harry Nilsson, the man with the golden voice. Early seventies people like John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, and Ringo Starr along with drummer Jim Keltner and bass player Klaus Voormann (who designed the album cover of the Beatles album Revolver) loved to work together. I remember buying the vinyl soundtrack of Son of Dracula with several songs by Harry Nilsson.

An all-time classic recording seen by many for the first time as the bus takes Dustin and Jon down to Florida, in the film Midnight Cowboy." I think you seemed to miss the wonderful strings arrangement on this track, which for me is a stand-out feature.

I’d love to see her do Fred’s version or even the Dolphin Song but I don’t think his name would generate enough clicks. I know she’d love his baritone and might even be amazed by his part in 60’s folk history. 😎🍻

The top fram is Dustin Hoffman and John Voight in Midnite Cowboy that the song was featured in.

You might want to watch the movie Midnight Cowboy, partly because it is set in NYC and it's an excellent film. Keep in mind that it was originally rated X. I haven't seen the film in a long time, so I'm not sure why.

Iwas 4 yrs when he recorded this song and recordedit from the radio on my casett player some yrs later. A beautiful song and a good singer but what else to expect from a man with Swedish heritage! 😉

I know this is old so you may not see it but.....Since you like this song you should consider Tedeschi Trucks Band's Live version. You will love Susan's voice in this uptempo version. She is a Berkeley School Of Music voice grad.

I hope that one day you'll do a reaction to Nllsson's song "Joy". WARNING: Like "Paradise By the Dashboard Light", do *not* peek at the lyrics before reacting. "Joy" is chock full of fun and wordplay best experienced without warning.

The Tedeschi Trucks Band has a live cover version of this song. If you have heard them before, you already know they are a great band! Susan Tedeschi is the lead singer and plays guitar. Derek Trucks plays lead guitar. I really think they are one of the best bands around today.

@@StevenMichals0812 😁🍻 Am aware.😉 Fred was my father. I've been watching Maggi for about 2yrs now and was amazed to see was going to react to this. I'd love to see her do a reaction to dad's original but I don't think his name would be enough of a view generator for her. Though, to be honest, I'm continually amazed at how many people are fans even till today. At one point Everybody's Talkin' was one of the most covered songs ever. I know she loves a baritone and she'd probably like The Dolphin Song too. Slainte,, friend!

Try to watch 'Midnight Cowboy', it's a classic and it's not just Dustin Hoffman that shines.

I remember this song. They played it on a film I saw a long time ago at the movie theater. Rather sad for Joe Buck and sadder for Ratso. I was in the U.S.M.C. at the time.

Yet he had an extremely versatile voice which couldn't be pigeonholed into any particular style. Fred Neil wrote "Everybody's Talkin'"; it was featured in "Midnight Cowboy".
