I really appreciate the time taken to clarify that at the end of the day these are terms that help us communicate about the situation and that we're all in the spectrum of it. Also, the humor really does help at least a tiny bit. Thanks for this webinar.

God this woman took over the entire conversation and I couldn’t even concentrate on what this therapist was saying because of her narcissistic inserts.

Harm “ocd” stems from a child being exposed to violent images (by child I mean up to 17 years old).....and not being able to process them due to the logical brain not being formed completely. At the same time parents do not balance out the “fears” of the child...... by helping them to understand what they were exposed to. The child at first becomes fearful (normal) of the exposure and then it transitions to self reflection and then “harm ocd”... Once the adult or child realizes that they were exposed to traumatic images and that they are having a normal response to an abnormal situation half the battle is won. These are not your thoughts

Hi! Very interesting! What do you mean by normal response to abnormal situation? Can you give an example? Have you been in such a situation? My parents were threatened and came home in blood once, also heard they were beaten but it sounded kinda ok for everyone then , like my dad had a debt and no one talked to me about this...they just said Go to your room when they came in blood. I don’t really remember their faces or anything like this. I was just afraid that someone will open my door to apartment. And I have this nightmare when some man likes me and I’m afraid about relationship coming into my life. Nightmare that someone is trying to break in in my apartment...

I agree. Been exposed to my father being physically abusive to my mother when I was a kid, a few times threatening her with a knife. When I was 8-9 my great grandma committed suicide with a knife. Guess what. My suicidal OCD usually spins around me hurting myself or others with a knife...

@@dariosergevna You were traumatized Your brain has been trying to make sense of it by creating anxiety.... as I child you were still learning who you were (self identify) as well as needing and longing to be safe. These things were stolen from you... leaving you feeling alone, scared, afraid..... I believe God can heal that child. Let him guide you to the right counselor.. Look into something called EMDR
