Hey Dan! Last fall I was almost hit by a bathtub (maybe a horse trough idk) that fell out of a pickup truck. It went sliding towards me and I grabbed the clutch and used progressive breaking and swerved to the side over to the white line. I wish I had a camera to capture it because it sounds so insane I know nobody would believe me but I was SO PROUD of myself for my maneuvers that got me out of the way. The tub did clip my toe so it really was a super close call but I know for a fact your reviews and tips saved me that day. I rode the rest of the way home switching between 🫥😳 and ☺️😋 because I was both in shock and so proud. What you do is SO important because knowing what to do in a split second can definitely save someone!!!

On 0:35. I've been in a similar situation in The Netherlands. Rule here is that the police vehicle is now part of the "situation" and cannot leave the scene (even if it has not been hit), might be similar in the UK. The cops could not even document my accident themselves as it's a more formal investigation with a police vehicle involved. Higher ranked officer on duty had to show up to process the statements. So the fact they stopped (n my case) was because that was the rule, not because they were not rightfully using priority signals.

I really don’t agree with the advice given at 0:50, I’ve had cops run lights at 50mph + near me even it it was red for them. They think they can do whatever when they’ve got their lights on.

You're wrong about this situation. The cop was going slow. Rider had someone right on his tail not expecting a sudden stop. Cops are good drivers and will slow down and stop if need be. That is why that cop approached slow. He was running a red and was keeping an eye out. All the cop needed to do where was slow down. Obviously, you want to check the speed the cop is running a light. If it is fast then you will HAVE to stop, obviously, and hope not to get rear ended. Situational awareness my friend. In this situation at 0:50, Dan was right.

i want to preface this by saying that while i agree that "being right" doesnt matter if you get injured (or worse), there is no way to blame the rider for anything here. so i'm siding with OP here. while we dont see how close the police car actually was to the crossing and they do have to make sure it is safe to cross (thats the way it works here in germany, at least. GB has got to be at least similar-ish, i reckon), id say they were close enough to *probably* warrant stopping at the traffic lights. the sirens can be heard by everyone in the vicinity and that alone should make you (as in any kind of traffic) slow down and pay close attention to your surroundings.

It’s a 50/50 just like if the car behind you will stop, I agree on the part of his advice of stop if no one is behind you but if you got a tailgater or especially if you know they’ve been texting or something take your chances with the cop being attentive I also have seen cops not even try to slow down or look for intersection traffic Staring straight forward “clear left clear right” lol

As with everything, it depends. Everything that everyone is saying here is right... for at least one situation. In the video, teh cops were moving slowly, and the risk of being rearended was probably (definitely, from the video) higher than getting hit by the cop car. If a firetruck is roaring along at 50mph with lights and sirens going... don't pull out.

Find it funny how much of the defensive driving course I took before getting my license seems to carry over to motorcycle safety as well. The TL;DR of it is *"Assume people will do stupid things, and stay out of their way."* along with a bit of self-checking, and making sure you're not being stupid yourself, plus making sure you're in a position to react as easily as possible. Like, at 10:33, I would've wanted to move to the leftmost lane position, acknowledging that some small-brain pedestrian would wanna walk between the semis, and you have better visibility of the exits on the left to prepare against cars pulling out, plus the pedestrian could see you easier, so therefore, safer. And on the later bits, *absolutely do not be side-by-side other cars, because they can, and will try to change lanes as if you're not there.* 16:44 is a pretty good example of that. I would've been quite a bit more back (even in a car). *Expect that minivan will try to occupy the same space that you're occupying because to them, you do not exist. They cannot see you.*

@12:24 that appears to be a Honda CBR650R 2019-2023 model. That yellow light glowing in the upper right corner of the dash indicates that the traction control is turned *OFF* via manual override. You have to override each time you start the engine, otherwise it turns on automatically. So my dude is riding in THESE conditions and thinks it's a big brain move to *deliberately* turn the traction control *off*, after he'd put on all that rain gear? That's a well-deserved crash if ever I saw one.

8:05 That's not a sneaky right turn. Neither rider have any cornering skill as evident from the way they enter on the inside and get catapulted to the outside at every turn. Blud thinks he's Rossi or something. Seeing how they're being thrown outside at the exit, they panic and apply front brake which erects the bike and makes that fear come true. Do NOT apply front brake and do NOT attempt trail-braking in corners if you don't know exactly what you're doing. Go back to school and take a course or two, have some track days before you hit the mountains. Learning through experience is extremely costly and stupid. Don't!
