Our guest this Episode is considered the founding father of New York hardcore, Harley Flanagan!!! From his early childhood in Europe and New York's gritty Lower East Side, to his days as the drummer of The Simulators and starting his career at age 11 performing and hanging out at Max's Kansas City and CBGB's, founding the seminal Hardcore band Cro-Mags, their new release "In The Beginning" and his recently-published memoir, "Hard-Core: Life of My Own". It's a deep dive into a rabbit hole, hopefully we all come out on the other side!!!!Enjoy!

when I was about 13yrs old back in the late eighties, in an interview in a skate magazine, I was introduced to krsna consciousness via Harley in the best wishes era. and at 18 I became a monk in the iskcon Boston temple-which ran its course-and moved back to nyc. I've been a "congregational" member as a plain-clothes hare krsna ever since. and I gotta say that my favorite cro-mags record IS best wishes. thanks for all the music mr Flanagan!!!

I was a big early Cro-Mags fan and still bump Age of Quarrel at the gym. This last band Harley put together I just can't fuck with. I saw them at Prudential and honestly they had no business being up there as an opening act. Would have been better giving Murphy's Law an extra 20 minutes along with the Misfits an most definetley Suicidal Tendencies

Yeah he worries about his oldest but neglects him the most, youngest son comes home with bags of gifts, the oldest he is so worried about he neglects the most, has called the cops on him twice to have him arrested for assault, he lost ALL legal rights, his new found love, that wife is just a cash cow, sends pictures of their expensive dinners and vacations but has no money for child support, new wife was hitting up for years, went to Rikers with her husband, got in saying she was his lawyer but when she got to him she was a journalist who wanted to get his story about Webster hall out 1st, which has been deleted off NewYorkNatives website but 1off her delusional stories when she 1st met Harley, talks about my kids 2years before she even met them, they both can travel, send pictures of their luxurious travels, hotels and dinners, but nothing else, my kids gifts are merch, of his or anyone else, the 1 time a year pictures are posted are nothing but photo ops, what a joke

Bro Jesus is not a teacher, that's just a by product. Jesus is God Jesus made you He's here The trick is not in letting him teach, it's in letting Him come inside, make His home in you and allowing yourself to be transformed Modern thought can exist only by discrediting Him and advancing weak, self indulgent ideas Joseph..........go deep in Christ We love you dude
