    Good evening "Big Cheese" long time no see! Another very informative video. I do like the idea of a new/used Ultra Classic. Your Ultra Classic has a very nice presence. So another day for a different mount for me. Although my 4Runner is in the shop undergoing an "Overland" modification. A rather large amount of coin spent for the same. Hopefully I should have it back by Friday. I do plan on coming up your way in September. It would be nice to share a meal, once again. Cheers, Mate.

    Great review. I plan on upgrading to Ultra in a couple years. More the likely a used one like yourself. Being in Ohio and dealing with long winters, it's tough having a big payment sitting in the garage for months at a time....lol. I'm on a 2011 Road King now and really enjoy it, but I love the extra protection and comfort the Ultra provides. The real problem.....if you want to call it that.....is that my wife rides too. We just bought her a 2013 Fat Boy Lo a few months ago and we still have her 883 Sportster. So, do I get rid of a motorcycle or two when I decide to pull the trigger on an Ultra? or just add a bigger garage to the house?....lol.....Ride Safe. Really enjoy your vids on this bike because you and I seem a lot a like as far as likes and needs as far as motorcycles go. Keep em coming.

    I rented a similar setup in Hawaii. Total torture. The partially liquid cooled Ultra, with the EITMS enabled and a good quality synthetic (takes off 5-10 degrees), was doable on a hot summer day for me in 90+ degrees. If you needed more the oil pan extension for another quart would probably do the trick, but I don't need that where I live. Good luck.

I absolutely love mine and is a smoothest nicest touring bike I’ve ever owned granted the 2022 and 23 are probably nicer with more features but this one with the V-twin will definitely go over 150,000 miles and it’s got plenty of power without high output V-twin and I’m very pleased with it

    What is your first choice of a bike?

  • @nwroadrat

    @nwroadrat

    4 жыл бұрын

    Currently, I like Harley Davidson touring models, but those aren't good beginner bikes if that's what you're asking about. For a learner bike, I like something low cost and light. And one that you don't mind dropping on its side. Getting a bike with a big monster powerful engine will just scare you at the start. You'll be worried about the bikes power instead of focusing on basics like turning and braking. Get the purpose oriented bike first. After that's mastered, then get the cool bike. ;-)

    Your cat was jealous of you fawning over the elephant ;) There's a trick to getting these behemoths off the side stand. Turn the steering all the way to the right. I think you'll be surprised how much easier they come off their stand. You can send me the $$$ you were saving toward wrist surgery via Paypal. Nice review, but I'm not a fan of abrupt clutch engagement. May work fine if you're just shifting gears, but if you need to slip it, all bets are off.

    Starting 2014, the balance is changed up a bit. They come off the kickstand easier. After experiencing this bike, and I got a taste of this from test rides, I don't think I've ever want a 2013 and under touring HD ever again. The clutch will be a love/hate thing. Doubt they want it slipped, but I don't really know. Thanks for the view!
