Harley Davidson Ultra Limited - 5000 Mile Review

This is a regular guys review of his 2018 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited. I will go over the motorcycle, take you along with me for a ride and share what I like and do not like about it.
I talk about some additions and upgrades I have made to the bike but none of them have an impact on how I feel about this motorcycle.

@@BoDean52 I will and I'll let you know how the bike did on the road trip I'm taking. Leaving 7/12/24 and might be back by 8/19/24. Going up through Idaho, into Montana, N. Dakota, then S. Dakota for the Sturgis rally. After that I'm headed to the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa. Then I'll either head to Tennessee to the Wheels Through Time museum or down to Missouri to visit a friend. Maybe both.

I changed all my lights to custom dynamics smoked lenses. Added the fillers like you, also did low profile bag lights, tail light tourpack side lights tourpack 3rd brake light.. also all the front lights. Headlight, turn signals windshield trim and fangs on side of headlight. The stereo I did was 2 m4v Diamond micro amps,660 watts each with processor, Hertz 6x9 in the bags, 6.5" in the tourpack, 6.5" in the fairing with tweeters. She rocks. New kst handlebars. That's just some of the things I've done there's more than I want to list. Exhaust, chrome here and there, matched color inner fairing. And more. It's an obsession once you get started. I also have an Electra glide CVO ultra I will never get rid of. I keep all my bikes.

Hello there. Ted from Texas here. Thank you for the 5000 mile review. I'm not sure which Harley I'm going to buy. But working at a Harley-Davidson dealership and moving them all around. I will get my taste of which one fits me the best. I can honestly say the one I took in driver's education motorcycle school was not the one for me. That was a 500cc Harley Davidson. I was too big for that bike and the controls are too far back, foot shifter. Plenty enough power for around town , but that's about it. Stay safe my friend see you when you next video.

I got a 2017 Limited. Just turned 10,500 miles . Bike has been perfect 👌. I did get the extended 5 year warranty on at time of purchase. Haven’t used it yet knock on wood , nothing but normal service at the dealership. I did put on Handlebars like yours , better heated grips , Custom dynamic turn signals, bag guards , LED rear taillight. The H-D digital dipstick makes checking the oil a breeze at the push of a button . Screaming Eagle 🦅 Street Cannon mufflers . I have the backrest too for long trips .I just ordered the same mirrors after watching your video ! 👍

@@BoDean52 I came from a 2008 softail deluxe that I put 14" bars on. So I knew I would want bars on this asap lol. And from what I have researched, the tall boy seat does not take any seat space away from the passenger. There is so much foam under your rump on that stock seat that I believe it just removes alot of that to slide you down and back. And the gts is great. Looks great and works great. I only have 600 miles on the bike at the moment, just bough it 4 weeks ago. But so far I love the bike. The 114ci runs butter smooth also. Cant wait for next riding season!

I have. 17 Ultra with 24k miles. Have talked a 3k and 5.300 k trip no problems at all. In hot weather 95+ check oil when getting gas. It has used two quartz of oil by topping off the oil in 24 k miles. Very comfortable, 500 miles is a easy day ( assuming it’s not raining, snowing or 100 degree heat lol) ignores all but the strongest side winds and potholes or bumps.

Well!! Mr. average guy 😂 we have The Milwaukee eight in a Tri glide you haven’t had any issue with the speed at around 75 to 80 flattening out. I noticed ours seems sluggish when I crack the throttle at those speeds . I just got a Ciro phone holder with the direct wire for my softail . What I don’t get is you still need a cord from the base to the phone , like a 6’ inch one , but all I can find is a 3 foot one doesn’t make any sense?? I saw where Michigan is going to abuse Notre Dame here in a week or two , oh boy that will be fun!!

Okay, so I guess we are not friends anymore! WHAT you don't like the way my bike looks? Now I know why you moved because you could not be seen riding with someone like me with a crappy Road Glide Ultra with NO HEATED GRIPS? But I am one of those guys that want to trade up every two years. I guess my next bike will have to be the Ultra Limited because then you will ride with me again? That was a good review. And you are right the Road Glide does have more room in the saddle from the fairing. Good review I enjoyed it and you are right about the M8 is a great running engine. Ride Safe

You can buy the kit to make it removeable, I’ve put one on a 2012 Road Glide Ultra, it’s a deal but I think it’s worth it. I’ll probably put it on my 2012 ElectraGlide Ultra Limited. I too love this bike and for me , it seems to handle wind turbulence on the interstate (75-80mph, esp behind tractor trailers) than either of my RoadGlides did.. either way, you can’t go wrong. Just a fun machine!

well good news and bad news BO...messaged you a couple of weeks ago, about Nitrogen in tires...Had to replace my rear tire, not because of miles but because it had a sheet metal screw in it, and a long ass nail..Harley in Franklin, TN did the work, and cut me a break..went back with the Harley branded Dunlop rear tire..a run flat tire, so if anything happens it will get me where I can fix it..Bike had 2200 miles on it, so kinda pissed me off, knowing that tire still probably had 7-8k miles left for wear. $421.00 later I rode back home...($330.00 for tire, rest was labor, mounting etc) Tire was Normally $360.00, labor was usually $129.00..so yeah, I did a break!! That's the bad news..Good news is This Harley Dealer puts Nitrogen in tires for $29.00 I didn't realize that till after the fact, but I'm going back and have it done on both tires. Check with your Harley dealer..they may do it as well... I did change out my windshield for a Freedom Shields Windshield...(has the flair to it) Absolutely Zero head buffeting at 70 mph..we have the exact same bike, except mine is the ultra limited low...later this year I'm changing grips to heated grips since low doesn't come with them...I think its like $207.00 but will be worth it...great review tho...keep it safe Brother!! Thus, we are going to buy the CVO Tahitian Teal Trike with a few mods for her to ride on, and to be apart of the "Harley Group." For me - i'll need to take the classes to get the motorcycle endorsement for my home state. Now, for the problem. For me, it's been 45 years since i've been on a bike, and had one that was streetlegal. At 58, working hard everyday, i'm looking for a cruiser to take to and from work, when it's possible, 3 - 4 days a week. I stand 6'4' weight in at 255 pds. Looking for a first bike, and seriously looking at the 2020 Ultra Limited (Vivid Black) P.O.S.E. Yet, it's weighing in at 917 pds. Looking for experienced riders to give me some good honest advice on rather or not this would be a good first bike, and experienced riders to feed me some information on rather i'm going to big. Please understand, this is not a joke. Just needing good advice. Thanks ahead of time, ScottishxPride, Tx.

Hey man, to be completely honest, this would be a GREAT bike for you. You would love it. The only thing I would warn you about is, this bike is heavy, which wouldn’t be an issue but if you’re rusty on two wheels, this bike can be very unforgiving. It’s a lot of weight to manage and the slightest crooked handle bars coming to a stop will make this bike tip over and there ain’t no holding it! I’d say get comfortable on two wheels first, then jump up to the big boy!
