You're welcome! It only has the issue when you boost it quite. My Vigier Excess was worse than that. And it's the one of the best basses I've owned. Anyway I rarely boost highs. Actually my custom bass has only bass and mids, and tone control instead of highs instead of treble. If you give the HB a try I'd ask you to use my link. And I'd ask you to inform about the weight. I'm curious because the only 1 gen one I tried was literally an anchor (more than 6 kilos). I hope this time will be under 4,5 kilos.

@@BassAdvisor I also bought 5 string 1 gen a couple years back: it was ridiculously heavy and the quality was quite poor, so I had to send it back. That's why I was waiting for a 2 gen review, so I understand if they fixed their mistakes. Anyway, thanks again, and I'll use your link for sure when ordering!

Felicidades por el vídeo Martí Sanmartí..Es muy parecido a los Cort C4 Plus ZMBH. Lo que pasa es que estos Cort con pastillas Soapar, gastan unas Bartolini y el previo activo es Mark bass1. Es un poco más caro que este Harley Benton. La marca de Thomann, tiene multitud de "copias" de otras marcas de bajo, como el violín de hofner, tiene algo de music man con pastilla humbunker, los ya clásicos precisión y jazz bass más clásicos de Fender, ect, ect.

I'm going to record something else soon. I put it aside for some weeks after the review. After picking it up again I can say two things: it needs some extra gain to shine compared to other basses; and the high register is the most singing and beautiful I've ever played. Absolute recommendation.

La verdad es que no es para nada mi tipo de bajo, pero ha merecido la pena ver el vídeo hasta el final por verte de joven dando guerra. Hoy me he hecho mi regalo de navidad, un Squier Paranormal Rascal HH en negro, mi primera escala corta, haber si en algún momento puedes ponerle las manos encima a alguno. Un saludo y feliz año

Muchas gracias! Me tienta muchísimo. Yo hubiera ido a por el verde escarabajo. Es curioso que realmente la posición de la mano izquierda varía poco respecto a un escala larga, pero probablemente sea un bajo comodísimo. Ya me contarás qué tal, pero pinta fenomenal.

Quiero un bajo versátil con sonido "menos clásico" y estoy entre este, el Marcus Miller M2 o M5 y el Sterling SUB Ray4. ¿O quizás recomendarías una gama superior? En las tiendas solo quieren venderme los Sire V3/V5! XD

Hola! Es un bajo muy recomendable. Precisamente lo estoy tocando estos días. Es un bajo que comparado con los demás que tengo en casa parece insulso, porque las pastillas tienen algo menos de señal. Pero cuando empujas un poco el ampli despierta l bestia, y tiene una textura moderna, en la línea Music Man, que es una pasada. El M2 no me convenció del todo y son 35", y los Sub están bastante bien, pero los acabados y estética están muy lejos. Los V3 o V5 están muy bien, pero está claro que no tienen nada que ver con lo que buscas. Si te animas y usas mi enlace, te lo agradecería muchísimo.

Hola, muchas gracias por la review, para mí creo que es el bajo que mejor suena de los que has hecho review, me parece que ese tipo de sonido suena muy bien en una mezcla en vivo o en estudio, me suena parecido a los Yamaha TRB y Peavey Cirrus o como una mezcla de ambos.

Pues sinceramente, tocando en casa pensaba que no es mi sonido. Pero escuchando especialmente la parte encima de la pista, veo que es un sonido que mezcla de maravilla.

For everyone who is curious: I also have this Bass now (the 5 string version) and I absolutely love it: I think it has a rather clear sound that I like but is also very versatile. The neck is the Most comfortable that I‘ve played I think. Even though it has a Glossy neck it plays really fast. The balence is fine: when I sit down and I don‘t touch it it has neck-dive. However, if I lay my Right Hand with very soft touch on the Bass there is absolutely no neck dive. Standing up there is absolutely no neck dive Even with a smooth strap. If you have questions just ask

Hola! Si entras en el pedido, hay la opción de devolución. Imprimes la etiqueta y dejas el paquete donde te pida, suele ser correos, creo. Y a esperar el reintegro. Cuando pasa por Madrid primero tarda tres semanas. Es lo máximo.

As always very nice review. I have the bz6000 nt that i bought some years ago. It really is very easy to play. Do you see any difference between this new series of the BZ????

Playing wise it is basically the same. The 1st gen I reviewed I had it for a few days and it was great too. But I feel the Tesla electronics are a bit better than the older ones. And the woods are potentially lighter. In the 4 string model it's not a great concern but in the 5, 6 or 7 models the difference might be dramatic.

How did you adjust the tones to get the Pastorius sound? do the tones not work in passive mode?

Indeed, there is not passive tone control with this preamp. Cutting highs you can get relatively close to the Jaco thing.

Yo me he planteado el 5 para afinarlo E a C, o el 6 cuerdas, también. Creo que es muy buena opción, aunque tienes que estar preparado para el peso. Seguramente no menos de 5,5kg. Si te animas agradecería muchísimo si usas mi enlace.

Great review and surprising how good it sounds, especially at that price point! Could you list the pickup spacing (distance between the two)? Curious as to how it compares to a Peavey Cirrus, which it seems to have taken some inspiration from in the design. Thanks!

Hello! I'm here with the bass. I'll give the measurements in millimeters. Bridge to pickup 21mm, gap between pickups 42mm. Distance from centre to centre of both pickups, 84mm approx. If you need any other measurements just let me know.

@@BassAdvisor Awesome! From what I can tell, the gap between the Peavey Cirrus' pickups is about 35mm...It's crazy how much that makes a difference in the tone, giving the Cirrus a more burpy sound. Thank you for taking the time to do that!

Hola! Lo veo bastante versátil pese al sonido moderno. El sonido con ambas pastillas, en banda, como puedes comprobar en la parte tocada con pista de audio, queda y empasta muy bien. El sonido más vintage es la pastilla del puente con los agudos cerrados. Te puedes acercar al sonido "Jaco". En esta generación casi seguro los 5 y 6 cuerdas van a ser más ligeros, que era el telón de Aquiles de los antiguos. Probé un 5 cuerdas en una jam session en un tema, y a los 3 minutos quería morir. El chaval me dijo que pesaba 6,5kg. No sé si sería tanto, pero era una bestialidad lo que pesaba. Ahora, sonaba a gloria. Si te animas, te agradecería muchísimo que usaras el enlace que hay en la descripción. Creo que va a ser una garantía total.

Is the recording directly to the sound card? Do the 5 strings sound the same?

Gracias Antonio! El 5 cuerdas lo probé en una jam, de la primera generación. Pesaba una barbaridad pero sonaba y se tocaba espectacular. Esta generación casi seguro será más ligera. Yo iría de cabeza si el tipo de sonido te cuadra. No hay nada ni remotamente comparable. Los Cort no me gustan en cuanto a sonido, y los Sire M5 son 35" y es otro rollo. Este se parece bastante al JCR que tuve. Si te animas, te pediría que usaras el enlace que hay en la descripción. Saludos!

Buenos días y feliz año Marti. Me quiero pillar un neck thru que lleve soapbars como este. Me ha sorprendido muchísimo la calidad del bajo, estoy dudando entre este y un cort que ya vale más de 1000. Sin embargo este instrumento por el precio me ha dejado pálido ¿crees que con un cambio de pastillas y electronica puede sonar a la altura de otros de gamma mucho más alta? el instrumento suena muy pero que muy bien.

Hola! Pues creo que no hay nada comparable a este bajo por debajo de los 1000€. Los Cort no me convencen en cuanto a sonido, salvo algún modelo particular como el Jeff Berlin. Las pastillas del HB a priori creo que están bien. En todo caso te podrías plantear un glockenklang si quieres algo neutro y barato, o un Mike Pope rollo fodera, o algún previo más cañero. Pero primero probaría qué tal está de serie y ver si realmente necesitas un previo más silencioso. Neutro desde luego lo es porque en pasivo y activo plano suena exactamente igual. Si te animas, te pediría que usaras mi enlace. Cualquier pregunta me dices! Lo tengo en casa por si tienes que despejar cualquier duda.

Marti tengo un previo ya comprado marca Bartolini. Me iba a embarcar en un proyecto con algún Luthier pero luego veo algunos modelos fabricados en serie por unos precios que se te cae el techo de casa encima. Creo que con el previo Bartolini y unas Delano sbc o unas Nordstrand Dual Coil puede subir el bajo por encima (aún más) del nivel que tiene. Otra opción sería ponerle el previo Aguilar que también me gusta mucho.El problema es que el previo Bartolini ya lo tengo comprado. Cuando tenga un relax económico creo que me haré con este instrumento, la verdad es que estoy entre varios. Estoy muy dubitativo entre este y un Ibanez SR para modificarlos. Los Cort hay gente que habla bien de ellos y gente que los detesta. Dime tú opinión sobre qué previo y pastillas le pondrías tu. También tú opinión sobre los Ibanez SR, estoy gaseado especialmente con los SR5000 y los SR1350. Son instrumentos mucho más caros, también hay que tenerlo en cuenta.

​@@Nino5i los japoneses de Ibanez Mauricio ya te estás yendo a los 2000. Yo creo que este bajo con: los herrajes cambiados, la electrónica y las pastillas sería un bajo de gamma superior. Y si tienes razón creo que SR no hay ninguno de construcción neck thru.

Well, it happened the same to the Noll onboard preamp in my custom bass, which costs almost like this whole bass. With active electronics it sometimes happens. The important is how good is the customer service. In my case it was for the good because I ordered a different configuration preamp.

En algún momento suena un zumbido agudo. Es mi casa, que es un infierno. Todos los bajos me dan problemas, incluso los que llevan pastillas noiseless. Así que no te extrañe que en algún momento se oyen pitidos. Fuera de casa no me ha dado ningún problema.
