I play competitive hockey at a high enough level that people will stay and watch my games. I always take the time to interact with the little kids, and it’s given me some of the most rewarding moments of my life. Their little smiles and cheers are some of the best parts of the game. I always love to hear the parents talking to their kids after as well, saying things like “Look! There’s the goalie that gave you the high five!” or “That’s the guy who gave you the puck!” Etc. I’m still a nobody and don’t play professionally but it’s so amazing being able to make a connection with someone like that, even just for a few moments, that they’ll remember for a while :)

I love how basketball players always take time for the children. ❤

How else are you to make new fans of the sport. Its why I like wrestling. I had cancer and I met the Rock wile I was in hospital and I was a fan for life.

If I was the basketball player, I would probably give him a hug and give him money like once a year for homeless person to my food and then I’ll give him something that he can sleep somewhere but he can sleep and it just warms up my heart and I cry and I’m crying right now and I’m trying not to cry😢😢

A few years ago I accompanied my daughter on a school related trip to DC. There were parents and students from every state at the event. One of the entertainment acts were some of the Harlem Globetrotters. The kids loved the tricks and all but us parents were awestruck. The Harlem Globetrotters are multi-generational heroes.

I remember watching the Trotter's on Wide world of Sports in the 70's, was always super excited!

This is why I am thankful for having a mom who's a preschool teacher. Kids keep you young, happy and humble. Especially in these type of interactions.

The Harlem Globtrotters have always been the greatest, and I'm 60 years old, remembering Meadowlark Lemon. They were all great! I'm so glad to see them still making kids and families smile.

@Thelostsalamibrother Live your life to its fullest! Love your family and love God. Smile every day and let the sun shine onto your face. Don't love just one race, but love the Human Race. We are all in this together. Do well in school, but think for yourself. Don't follow the others. That will just lead you down the wrong road. There is no shame in serving others. We will all need help one day. I live in the mountains of eastern Tennessee with 2 black German Shepherds. I served 4 years in the United States Marines. Life hasn't always been perfect, but it isn't meant to be that way. I lost both of my parents, so remember to cherish them while you have them. Listen to the stories that your grandparents tell you. Some of them may sound corny, but those are stories of their lives. There are probably so many more things, but I'm sure that you can figure them out as you go along. Take Care.

Dude I LOVE the globetrotters. I was lucky enough to see them a few times & they never disappoint. They are so good with the fans too. Just like in this clip,

any professional athlete, superstar of anything, actor, musician, anyone who has prowess in this world and treats children like this just deserves a hug.... a huge hug

I remember as a kid they were like the coolest dudes. They took many of us on the court and performed tricks around us. Such good souls every year.
