Another great well informed vid 👍, your advice was invaluable to us last year in morzine and it gave us a better time out there. Now when I return to BPW I'll know what to expect... You should come up to my local, Phoenix Bike park in Suffolk and review that. They are opening the new side this summer..👍

What pedals do you use? I have SPDs on my 2003 Kona Kahuna that I've dug out of the garage (with Magic tubeless rims and Hope disc brakes, an upgrade from the stock bike). I know it's really a XC bike and it seems archaic looking at modern bikes since they have massive forks but I was wondering what the modern kids use - it looks like metal pedals without clicking in or even toe slots which seem very brave?

I run the shimano DX s, they are clips but also have a bit of a platform to help whilst trying to get clipped in. Yeah times have changed a lot since 2003, It might be time to hang that bike on the wall! hahaa

@@MtbTrailHub thanks for the info. I've resurrected my Kona and put new chainrings and cassette and derailleur on it and it's as good as new! Got a Trek on order just in case though... No crazy cycling like you do but have been going out and cycling again to get fitter and really enjoying it. Got some pedals on order too so thanks for the info and reply. A guy even recognized my "retro" bike at Coed-y-Brenin and came over to talk about it!

Nice video! Enduro bikes is this what is needed for these trails? 👍

Yeah absolutely, bike park wales isn’t really steep or rough enough to warrant a dh rig. Enduro bike gets my vote 👍

Snake Bite seems unassuming until....... that janky section is like the Bermuda Triangle...... Martian looks interesting. sub'd ya

Snake bite is a sneaky one, lucky not to face plant the rock! As for the martian..... it's just plain crazy! haha and i rolled the double!

Bit of a stretch to say it's Whistler in South Wales. They need to be way more ambitious with their jumps and trails for it to rival that. But I believe they could do it, they just need to do some hefty terraforming for a huge jump line in future to rival A-Line. Probably too expensive to do so though.

@@MtbTrailHub Have you tried Dyfi bike park? That bike park has a jump trail that is approaching Whistler scale: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oad10smkpLm8hpM.html Yes A470 is the closest so far but it doesn't feel like it was ever aiming to be rivalling Whistler currently. But I hope they do get more ambitious and go wild for big trails in future. I really like the wider design so people can overtake rather than the very thin design of most of the trails where its impossible to pass someone with out them pulling over.

@@IntoTheWhite04 I think it will be busy every day for the foreseeable until they work through the demand built up from lockdown..... There were 500 people there on opening day I believe and we didn’t have to que for long really...... The trails didn’t feel congested either....maybe a bit on A470.....

After seeing the martian and a470 i have a hard time believing this is bikepark wales anymore. A470 looks like a straugjt up whistler and the martian looks like squamish
