You've done well to get the difficulty across. The thing I always find funny is that Top Chief used to be a red-graded trail 🤣 - there is nothing about that trail that could be considered red 🙈

Thanks for that! Hahaa, i bet that caught a few people of guard. It's good that there is now the option of the Blue Doon. I saw lots of people really out of their depth on top chief because it was the only way down.

@@MtbTrailHub yeah! Fort Bill is notorious for people damaging themselves. Hopefully the Blue Doon will reduce the helicopter rescues a little bit!

@@streetpigeonmtb you would think so. Was there a few weeks back and the kiosk was telling us that there have been more incidents on Blue Doon than all of last year and previous seasons. It’s is a cracking Blue run though..

That looked amazing and propper death in places 😵 defo a contender for next years big trip 😉 love how you take time to show each big feature 👍

Cheers Robert, Yeah it's exactly that. It's defo worth a look but i wouldn't spend the whole trip here, maybe more of a stopping point for a day or so. Couple that up with the cairngorms and tweed valley and you've got something special brewing!

Great video as always. The GoPro does a great job of smoothing out and flattening those trails as those tracks are intense. I maintain that the Top Chief is more difficult than the WC though.

Thanks Ali, yeah the Go Pro effect is REAL! and same with the Red Bull coverage tbh.....track looks pretty chill on TV too. Noooooo, don't be silly ...... WC Track is on another level!

It's actually mind blowing when you first drive up there. If only the trail map was bigger it would have it all! Top chief is up there with some of the best! well worth a look

that lower forestry section of the blue looks great!

When you said about the gondola mate - you're right. Fort william is the only mountain gondola in the UK👊🏻 fuckin love Fort bill, one of my favourite places to have ridden

It was only while i was talking it through that it dawned on me about that..... Glen coe just down the road also has a lift but its got nothing on this place! Yeah they are awesome trails.......I heard there is financial support in place to build more trail from the top. Happy days!

@@MtbTrailHub 62degree head, Long and low 150mm travel Hardcore Hardtail! Couple of times though i don't know how i didn't explode the rear wheel. It was the rocks at the top of the UCI/WC track, those were killer and having a hardtail i got a few looks :)

Oooh I already commented on this post 5 months ago. I did Top Cheif now on my 4.8 Hardtail Fatty! ;) 100mm travel. 10psi tyres though

There's only one black trail (Top Chief, which used to be red graded and was called Red Giant, but they eventually realised how stupid both the grade and name were), the DH is an "orange" grade (should be black, but the grading system here is idiotic), and the Blue Doon is one of the worst built trails I've ever ridden. There's also a bunch of xc trails lower down, but none of them are black graded. Top Chief is awesome and so are the red trails lower down.

@@MtbTrailHub The DH is rough to put it mildly! Yeah as long as it's done properly. Hopefully they invest in some professional trail design. The biggest strength of the place though is also its biggest weakness - the gondola. There are so many weather conditions it can't run in because of where it is. Investment is great, but if they can't get people to the top it's no good.

I do prefer to wear them, Only thing is.....when i'm out filming there is so much stop starting it just makes life a lot easier not having to take gloves on and off constantly.
