In the civilized world, what I write from… is called child labor exploitation. In their context ...it's the only way they can help feed their many families.

I'm torn about children doing this work. I hate to see them being taken advantage of, but if the pay is similar to the men and they can help their families, then I would rather see them doing and learning these trades. So many kids in the US have no skills, couldn't change a tire, but can have a license to drive and spend most of their time unproductively engaged in video games, while becoming obese and sickly from poor eating habits and lack of exercise.

What a tragedy: children working with dangerous chemicals and equipment. These criminals exploit the work of poor children, in an unhealthy and dangerous place, and without the use of personal protective equipment.

  • @Rigoknow

Jose, Whats a tragedy is if these children were starving on the side of the road. Yes, it's always hard to see children working in this fashion, but in this part of the world, it's poverty that rules over society. In my opinion, they are learning something that could be beneficial to their development. It's better to offer constructive criticism than to attack people without all the facts.

That's crap and you know it ,Jose. How old do you think the hands were that attached the milker to the cow who gave you the milk. How old was the person who drove the 500000 dollar tender that empties the wheat for your bread. That's before they drive the million dollar combine that picks your soy milk. About ten or twelve just like these boys. It's legal in the United States if they work for grandparents, aunts or uncles, or parents.

Of course it can't be condoned... But from my own experience, exposure at around 13 in the 1970s helping a neighbour of my parents in his part-time car repair operation after school exposed me to all kinds of risks, while developing life skills and a deep seated passion for engineering picking up the benefit of his WW2 aero engine fitter experience. This only intensified an academic engineering pathway that is with me 45 + years later. Did slacking on my French homework, discovering that petrol and battery acid are skin irritants or getting irate complaints from teachers that my nails were full of grease really do me any harm ?

What is it with these people doing everything on the ground. Everything is just piled up everywhere. If the producers of these videos had any heart they wouldn't put these videos out all over the world. This will be the image they have of this country showing poor workmanship, trash piled everywhere, and the dangerous environment especially for children. The entire country isn't like this, but it's what these video producers are showing.

In America, full grown adults piss and moan about getting $14/hr. for building hamburgers because it isnt $15/hr. While in this part of Pakistan (or whatever God-Forsaken armpit they are making this stuff) children are just proud to help their Dad for a combined $4 per day.... Yes, my fellow countrymen are lazy and fat... but something about small children near all that dangerous equipment just rubs me the wrong way. Chances are, they are preparing these kids for the only future they will possibly have, but it still looks like a recipe for amputation or grievous bodily harm. That is why this is illegal in 90% of the civilized world.
