    Mayur Ji I'm planning to purchase flowerhorn for my home but the water TDS is 153 and as per Zeeshan Sheikh I have to maintain it around 70 TDS using RO water. But as you know RO water don't have any minerals, and when asked Zeeshan Bhai he told me that using 2 pinches of Multani Mitti will solve the issue. Please elaborate, waiting for your rivert.

    I live in Pune outskirts. Water is super hard about 900PPM. I knew it when I started this hobby that it wont work. Installing RO is costly only for aquarium. So I bought a tank about 2 feet it requires about 40 liter water. Bottled water cost about 50 rupee for 20 liter but there is a trick. Bottled water hardness is very low in single digit. So I mix bottled water with my tap water to get about 150 PPM water. It cost about Rupee 50 per week so it’s not that costly. Also recently few home RO plants started in my area they are very cheap. They charge Rs.10 for 20 liter RO water.

    Mayur sir, love your videos and channel. you are educating so many hobbyists like me. I live in Hyderabad and I have hard water, because of which my aquarium is also getting stain lines and am not able to clean them up. So i started using drinking water supplied by municipality thru tap and filtering through regular aquaguard. I also put 10 drops of the blue liquid and 10 drops of chlorine remover when i change 30 percent water every week. However, ever since i started doing that, my fish seems to be getting some diseases often like recently anchor worms. Anything wrong i am doing.

    Hi Mayur, I live in Bangalore, we use borewell water. I have kept planted tank for last 1 year using brightyk potassium and iron, ur very much right I was able to grow java ferns, anubias, crypt wendeti, but couldn't grow stem plants like rotala, Ludwigia or Altenthera rienikki. Recently at still water Aquatics I spoke with Stephen and bought brighty mineral as well. Some TC pots of stem plants, challenging task :) I've added seachem phosphate as well now. But I've been thinking when the basics (water) is from borewell then it wont really matter if i supplement ADA ferts, even soil from power sand to 9 ltr to powder sand all from ADA to buffer the chemicals. Totally fed up with this, im thinking of using my house RO filter water, it's a 7 stage filter which reduces hardness to 50ppm, but I'm in a dilemma as RO water is zero in minerals but less in calcium which makes Iron absorption good for rotala and Ludwigia red. Please advise

    Hi Mayur ji.. I'm from Pune and the water I get from PMC is Soft. Actually I have a question. Does boiling water removes permanent hardness (Sodium and magnesium ions) or just temporary hardness (bicarbonate or calcium ions)?

  • @MayurDevAquascaper

    @MayurDevAquascaper

    4 жыл бұрын

    Boiling the water causes the precipitation of solid calcium carbonate or solid magnesium carbonate. This removes the calcium ions or magnesium ions from the water, and so removes the hardness. Therefore, hardness due to hydrogencarbonates is said to be temporary. Generally an increase in water temperature causes an increase in the solubility of most salts. exceptions like CaCO3, CaSO4, MgCO3, Mg(OH)2 all of which become less soluble as the temperature increases

  • @MayurDevAquascaper

    @MayurDevAquascaper

    4 жыл бұрын

    Firstly Zeolite is used sometimes as a bio media and cannot make water soft also zeolite does not remove every toxin in your tank, nor does it work forever. In fact, it becomes saturated fairly quickly, at which point it no longer provides any benefit. Within a month or less, it is exhausted and should be replaced or recharged. In cases of extremely high ammonia levels, the zeolite may become exhausted in two weeks or less.
