I have a 2001 honda crv only get a good brake pedal when the engine is off. As soon as i turn it on the pedal goes straight to the floor. I noticed when i removed the vacuum hose from the booster side i had a good pedal. When i put my finger on the end of the hose i felt the vacuum pulling and the engine was about to die. Mind yiu i replaced the original booster with one from the junkyard before all this and the car still acts the same. Can it be the intake manifold. I really don't know anymore.

Good video. I like It. Just a question, is there difference if I change the original vacuum hose for a generic one? Will it affect? Regards

Do not use generic hose or fuel line for the Vacuum booster hose repair. It may collapse and cause a loss of braking. Look for EPDM tubing for vacuum and emissions systems. It should be at least similar or better than SAE J1037 or J942b standard hose. The tubing should not deteriorate from heat, weathering or ozone, and it maintains its flexibility at low temperatures.

@@GarageGurus We have cold weather here, and yesterday I accidently hit mine with my hand, and the rear tube behind the engine snapped, leaving the plastic end inside the connector. I was hoping your video was going to show the procedure of removal & re-install!!! lol

My brake pedal is hard, the brake booster was rebuilt and I’ve checked for vacuum leaks. Everything is working as it should, however the brake pedal is still hard and even though I try to brake as hard as I can the wheels never lock up. Any help will be appreciated.

I drive a 2015 golf tsi 1.8 and I came across a situation where, when I am idling, as I compress the brake pedal I can hear a hissing noise or (air escaping) and then the pedal becomes hard. Can someone please help. I checked the vacuum lines and they all seem good and relatively new. I also pulled the check valve form the booster and heard a small hiss, not very much but it was there.
