Right On Tom! 👍🙌 Yes KZread is an amazing resource! Even if it’s something I know how to do there might be a better way or some useful tips. I’ve learned so much on KZread. Mama cat is doing really good! She’s fixed now and enjoying retirement! 😄 Lots of chasing squirrels 🐿!!
kinked a few top rails, thanks for this clip, it saved me from wasting more money.
Grits from Poland. Excellent job.
Great looking railing. And made for life!
wow wow wow...I learned so much from this video, thank you so much... I had a bender like your I bought 24 years ago, never thought to mark out in 1 inch increments like you did, I just tried doing in one shot...... best wishes from Florida, Paul
Followed your method to build my railing. Thank you, it worked perfectly
Very nice build. Lots of cool tricks in the fabrication world. I've been working on making a Hossfeld bender. I have the frames done and now working on some of the tooling.

Oh right on! 👍 That is great. Those benders are awesome. I used to work in a shop that had one. All the amazing things that can be made. There are some good old instructional videos on KZread about the hossfeld bender.
Good demo, should've capped the ends... Agree with fastcap, DeWalt anchor bolts, easy pease... Nice job..
Made hundreds of feet of handrails back in the day but it was always using fittings, never used a bender but it looks like fun.

Right On Raw Bacon! 🥓 Those fittings are nice! This bender is a little crude but with a little persuasion it gets the job done ✅🙌
Thank you best video..Papua New Guinea❤

Very good tutorial, I am about to make my first tube bending project and I this method will also work with aluminum tubing. Thank you for sharing...

Hey right on! 👍 That’s cool. It’s not the fastest method but slow and steady wins the race! 🙌 Thanks for watching and hope your project comes out great.

Your level of precison amazes me. I am so impatient, no doubt i would rush thing and try and make that 90 in one shot. Outstanding work. Cheers

Awesome project Jon! I went to buy a small piece of Black Pipe yesterday and was shocked at the price! They must think it's Brass! Crazy... Great stuff

Right On John! Thanks! 👍🙌 Yeah steel prices are way up! That cheap black pipe ain’t cheap anymore. 😳 At least plywood isn’t $110 for a 1/2 sheet!
Nice bend 👍

Please.. I could not find a pipe bending machine like this in our country.. So the idea is to make one like it and I would like to know what is the distance between the holes for each pipe and its diameter please.
That’s a great way to do those bends without having a very expensive bender. Nice that you showed how to generate the radius you needed. With expensive tube benders you need the radius dies required and they too are expensive. My only comment would be to have an air over hydraulic cylinder. Sure saves time and effort. BTW Harbor Freight I believe makes a nice knob to open the valve. I made my own before I found out you can buy them. However being a toolmaker it was just another fun little project. Great Video though !

Right On! 🙌 Thanks and that’s a great tip about closing the valve with a knob. I will look at Harbor Freight or make one. Thanks for the comment!

Very nice work! How did u conclude that you needed 15 pumps… was it just trial and error for that pipe or some kind of formula?
9:0 5, love that Wells Saw
great video. I have been thinking about cutting a viewing port so I can more easily measure the angle of my bend. Don't think it will compromise the strength of the bender. What do you think?
Can this method be used for a shallow arc? Would it be the same number of pumps for each bend or would the throw be different for each bend?
For marking steel I like to sharpen the tip on a 3 point file with a grinder and make it into a scribe, then use the scribe to scratch the mark directly into the steel. Eliminates the problems with thick paint markers, which can lead to errors in your final product. I think the machining industry term is "tolerance stacking". If you've ever plotted multiple azimuths on a map with a thick pencil line, all the differences add up. I learned from experience to use a mechanical pencil to save myself a lot of walking and/or getting lost. A lot of skills you learn overlap into other disciplines.

Why would you overcomplicate this? Leave it to metal workers to give people advice.
Where did you get those clips for the metal ruler???

very nicely explained how to use a bender, 90 percent of the video is explained incorrectly, I believe that you need to know how to handle this bender and most of us don't know...

My harbor freight bender leaks oil everywhere if I put it on its side, even though it has feet for that exact purpose, and the manual says it will do that and to NOT lay it dow. What happened? Is the new version worse?
@RightOnJonCrane
Жыл бұрын
Yes, mine leaks a little too! There is a modification that can be made by adding a tube inside. It makes it so the Jack can also be used upside down. Perhaps I’ll dig into it and make a video! 🙌
Im completely torn between the more rugged ethic DIY cheap way for clout, or just dropping 2k+ for baller status lol... i only have an off road bumper planned for now, but if i buy a nice one ill probably open the door for more projects...
