The Macripoor years... Claremont, buscema, Sienckiewickz, Nolan on the covers... probably my favorite Wolverine run ever. Got the Essential in beautiful black and white too. And that Wiliams Pin Up is AMAZING...
The first 50 issues of that Wolverine run are so under rated

I completely agree. I love them. They’re so fun.

Wasn’t Frank Miller part of that run also with the hand stuff? I have some of the trade paperbacks and real issues from like the early issues to him getting bone claws. I have most of weapon x saga also. Awesome stuff.

@@KewieCRC420 no, Miller did the original miniseries back in 1982, also known as Wolverine Vl.1. This issue came out in 1989.
Sometimes you don´t appreciate someone until they´re gone. I grew up with comics by John Buscema and always took his greatness for granted. RIP Legend, you are fondly remembered.

John B the late legend drew great anatomy figures.
Have these in omnibus format, very excited to get into the wolverine run

It’s really good. The way Wolverine was handled by Claremont is much more balanced and compelling than anything from the 90s and 2000s IMHO.
Sienkiewicz is my favourite artist, and Buscema is really high up there too, so this is a real treat! Great combo, I wish they collabed more. They done a galactus mini-series together and it's got solid art too
You need to review Bill's inking of John's brother, Sal, several years after this, on Spectacular Spider-Man #222.
Agreed with @shanelorrison you guys should do the the John Buscema Artist edition it’s freaking beautiful.
You shoud do a cover to cover of the early Wolverine issues, but with the back cover pin ups
this whole first like 25 issues of wolverine have a special place in my heart cause i was reading the essentials in like 03-04 7th and 8th grade. speaking of gene colan can yall do that gene colan issue from this series, it was a few issues before or after this one. phenomenal issue.
I will have to keep an eye out for this one. I got to see Kent Williams paintings early on beginning with a Society of Illustrators traveling show at CCAD back in the late 90's. It is like a dense black with some blues and reds mixed in. Something I needed to.see at the time while deep diving into painting.
Happy Thanksgiving guys
Starring Olverine
Would love to see you guys take a look at the 2 books uncanny X-Men vs dracula with Bill S
My Dad bought me this issue about 30 years ago. Still have it. 😁
I bought this book at my first trip to my LCS. I got this and a set of the Dark Horse Godzilla 1985 manga. I was hooked on comics after this.
I’m pretty sure as far as canon goes this is their first battle
Hilarious that you called David Mamet, "Dave". Ha!
Happy Turkey Day Kayfabers!
