I practice with Hanwei one. Love it. Very balanced and comfortable in my hand. Sharpened it to practice cutting. Don't care about lack of flexibility. It feels like real weapon.

At the time I was trying to cut patterns with one of these, and it was way too flexible. Was interesting to see the difference. Mine was produced a couple years earlier, whippy little nothing, so I think they adjusted to make it right.

Nice video. Looks like a decent sword. The flex on the other forms sword was amazing.

Question: I've never used one of, these, mostly used medeival swords... how do they handle? I am thinking about trying one, is it worth the $? Some of Hanwei's western swords haven't been that great but I've heard their eastern stuff is much better balanced...

They are two very different swords. The Gale Wind is much heavier (2.25 lbs) than the Practical Tai Chi sword (1.25 lbs). If you are doing forms, you may like the lighter Hanwei sword. If you plan to do any tatami cutting, your will want the Gale Wind, as the Hanwei sword is not made for that type of cutting and will be damaged.

its practicle version, so those super flexible versions were never intended to be used in real combat, back than they also had two types and the real swords were also more stiff, means hanwei did everything right
