A great classic from hank Williams.
Give a listen to Nick Shoulders rendition just for your own entertainment
The effortlessly flow into falsetto and back. The yodel. So easily done just softly sung. Too many remakes have been loud or harder driven by the musical arrangements. This is just perfect with the soft tones from the steel guitar and Hanks slow easy delivery. Loved it.
Had 6 encores at the opry in his first appearance
Hank did not write this song, but it was so successful, he wrote "Long Gone Lonesome Blues" which was another number one hit of his!!!!! Please react to it???
Great request by Penny in honor of what would have been Hank, Sr.'s 100th birthday! "Lovesick Blues" might be the oldest song ever reacted to by Don on this channel - it was written in 1921. :) It was a Tin Pan Alley tune that evolved over the years and was eventually recorded by country singer Rex Griffin in 1939 (well worth checking out his version as it is the closest thing to what Hank, Sr. eventually recorded). Years ago I purchased Hank Williams, Sr.'s box set, and it is one of the best musical investments I have ever made.
Want another ‘’yodeling ‘’ song from Hank? MOANING THE BLUES. i think his best of them.
One of my Hank Williams favorites.
This song shows the gymnastics that Hank could do with his voice. Hanks lyrics and phrasing was so simple, but so deep.
I love this song and Hank Williams Snr, there is nothing better.. This irish man loves this... Great song and great one to react to.
Love Hank Srs music
Man Hank Williams Sr, was such a great song writer and the way he belted song's at just captivating and drawed you in to what story he was telling you, it would be amazing what a song catalog he would have had if he would have just lived to say 50yrs of age all you can say is greatness that's how to describe him. Thanks Penny, for a great request and reaction Don. Love some Hank!!!
Another fine classic by Hank! Love it! Thanks Penny and Don!
This song entered the country charts on 03/05/1949 and stayed there for 42 weeks. It was #1 for 16 weeks. It was written by Irving Mills & Cliff Friend. BTW, I can remember going to a drive-in movie theater in Orlando, FL and seeing the movie titled "Your Cheatin' Heart" in 1964.
One of Hanks most popular songs what better song to honor his birthday . One of the greatest icons in country music . He not with us anymore but his music lives on . Can't hardly believe he would have 100 . We do have people that live on the earth that long more often now a days . One of my Dads favorites that I grew up with . Thanks Don for the awesome reaction .
Such a short career and so many great songs. RIP Hank.
Thanks so much Penny for this wonderful request! I wish I'd thought of it myself. This is one of the classics, it never gets old, and I could listen to it all day long. Thanks Don for the great reaction!

Actually it was written by Fred Rose. Hank did record it.
Hank NEVER says "I don't know how to lose" in this song. Do you have a hearing problem?
This is the standard for country music. Everything else is a sad wannabe.
