“The Story Of Us” shows her absolute and unbeatible vocal skills….. Ive never heard neither english or spanish spoken singers get that performance in between powerfull & sweet velvet highs and lows

She is a soloist, debut after Superstar K and also in a big group called WSG Wannabe formed in variety show Hanging out with Yoo (Yoo Jaesuk) recently and WSG Wannabe divided into 3 sub units. She is next Ailee with those powerful and high note speciality, had the potential to surpas Ailee. Yup, many great vocalists in Korea are trapped behind some very safe and unambitious songs. The ballad genre is stable and eternally popular (in a low burn way) throughout East Asia (Korea, China, Japan, Thailand, etc). That's why they do it. There are great ballad songs, one day I'll start recommending some to you.. but mediocre ballads can be a drag

oh.. just a second comment, if you want some other singers which not sing mostly ballads as well, you're still missing out my personal top three: -Sohyang (the queen of course) from ballad to even rapping. Definitely claims the crown of korean vocalists. Mostly with her Immortal Song performances but she's on tour (for over a year now) and singing songs like "Lean on me" or "Upon this rock" live on concerts - better for copyright reasons than Immortal songs.. -Son Seung Yeon, winner of the voice and a powerhouse. She can literally sing everything. Her Immortal Song performances are sick, she has a great song called "Ready". -And Park Kiyoung (she has a killing voice but showed like 5% of her talent there) - sang except rap mostly every genre, originally a rock singer with an insane range like in "Spring Rain".

Btw, did someone recommend the killing voice of Kwon Jin Ah? Her tone and runs are incredible. And her songs are great.

About effing time... imagine you calling me rude for trying to get you to react to one of the best vocalists in the world for months, and actually throwing a fit and saying you wouldn't react to her purely out of spite. Technically, you owe me an apology, but it's okay... I don't expect one. My job is done in introducing noobs to one of the best vocalists in the world. She is by far the best vocalist in South Korea, especially when you realize she is only 25 years young. She was in a televised singing competition and placed 3rd when she was 18. She gained recognition for singing Ailee's song and became known as the second coming of Ailee... she just released a remake of Ailee's "Heaven" which is arguably better than the original. She is a naturally gifted talent. She was dirt poor and literally gained recognition through the singing competition. She is a generational talent. I am sure after she signed with a label, she received some sort of vocal coaching to keep improving, but her base is pure natural talent. As for singing something "different", she was on a show that formed a girl group called WSG Wannabe which is comprised of actors, comedians, and former singers/idols... she was in a sub-unit called GAYA G and they came out with a song that is a bit more uptempo... it is comprised of a member from a 2010's R&B Group The SeeYa, a current idol from the group LaBoum, and an actress that was recently in the Netflix Kdrama blockbuster The Glory. I absolutely adore Hynn but she isn't by far the best vocalists in South Korea. But in the top list for sure. And the heaven remake is amazing!

@@crazyr2113 Who do you think even has remotely close vocal talent at her age? I'm pretty sure you can't objectively name one, naming legendary singer who are in their mid 30's and 40's isn't even comparable because singers get better over time and practice. So, it's natural for older singers to be "better". But, HYNN is 25 and objectively no other legendary singer was as good as HYNN is at 25. This isn't an opinion, this is a fact. You can go search for performances when Taeyeon, IU, Ailee, etc. were 25 and just listen to the huge difference.

@@ThinkB4YouType at the age - Son Seung Yeon (she needs to be end of 20 now? Or mid 20. Won the voice at 19, proved her talent more than once). But you were talking about the general thing and adding the age later just as a thought. So I mentioned it not thinking about age. But of course, she's incredibly talented for her age. Personally, I'd put her before Ailee.

@@crazyr2113 I agree Son Seung Yeon is amazing, but in all honesty... 4 years worth of practice and vocal training makes a huge difference. I think people underestimate how much age matters with singers. This is why when you see these super young singers that are already talented, you just know they will get better and better. I can agree Son Seung Yeon being up there, but I don't think there are many singers in the world that can sing HYNN's The Lonely Bloom Stands Alone... especially with the ease that HYNN is able to, I admit Son Seung Yeon is a very gifted technical singer, but I think HYNN is better conveying emotions. To me, Son Seung Yeon feels similar to Ailee, Sohyang, Lena Park, etc. where they are very very impressive power vocalists, but the way HYNN can switch between the same power and light airy delicate emotional singing is unmatched by any singer I am aware of. If we were strictly talking about "power vocals"... there are plenty of amazing legendary powerful vocalists, but... I view things in totality... power, breath control, range, emotive, vocal clarity, vocal fullness, age, etc. And, I feel that objectively, HYNN is the best when you take "everything" into consideration. Sure, people might prefer other vocalists' sound or music, but as far as complete vocal talent and skill... I think she is unrivaled.

@@crazyr2113 The crazy thing is that it seems like SK has so much vocal talent that it's almost unbelievable. Even many SK actors/actresses, comedians, and entertainers can sing fairly well, and the age of good singers keeps getting younger and younger, especially in Kpop.

또렷한 발성 발음!음정 하나하나가 귀에 때려박히고 시원하게 올라가는 고음이 상당히 매력적인 가수입니다!다소 과소평가를 받는 가수라기보단 인지도가 아직 한국의 대형솔로 여가수에 비해 조금 떨어질뿐!가창력으론 탑티어입니다!라이브로 현장서 들어보면 저세상 레벨입니다!

Lool maybe but I don’t enjoy a lot of ballads in English either depending on how they’re produced. I rarely connect with lyrics too, production and melodies are what grab my attention.
