THIS STORY:
Coming from a large family who lived in Devon England, little Emmanuel Dannan's parents passed away and he was left an orphan. He was ultimately adopted by a family in America named Norton.
But his father would set upon him in a horrible way, because he would not tell a lie.

The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

Wait!? Did you say this guy tied the 8 year olds hands together and then hung him from the rafters and beat on him for 2 hours till he died and he was charged with a misdemeanor!?? Iam speechless, with anger. Thanks for telling his story Ron. I don’t think justice served him, but you brought him back to life for us. He was a good honest boy. So sad. 😞

So sad. I'm glad his memory and legacy will live on forever. He was a good boy who remained honest and genuine, even through torture until his death. The monsters who mistreated him will have to stand and answer for their actions, even if they skated by with a slap on the wrist in this life.

This story just broke my heart. The suffering he went through before his body gave way to peace. His parents and siblings would have been sick if they had known.😢😢😢😢
What a heartbreaking story, on so many levels. The poor kid's life was just FILLED with one tragedy after another. He loses both of his parents, and then the uncle who was caring for him and his siblings, and then finally he gets separated from his other siblings and winds up with abusive adoptive parents, who end up killing him. It's sad how orphaned children in that era were practically considered disposable, and treated like dirt if they didn't have a caring adult to advocate for them. I wonder what exactly Elsie was doing, to make her get so enraged about being found out -- maybe something super scandalous like cheating on her husband? I also wonder about Emmanuel's adopted sister, and what happened to her after Emmanuel's death. Did she stay with the adoptive parents, or was she taken from them and placed in another (and hopefully better) home? And I'm sure that if Emmanuel's biological siblings found out what happened to him, they were devastated! Poor kid, to die the way he did. . .but at least he's in Heaven now, where nobody will ever hurt him again!

I cannot fathom how someone could hurt a child even continually beating them until they died. My Mommy heart is broken hearing these stories. I would lay down my life for my children and any other child. “…if anyone cause one of these little ones who believe in sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Matthew 18:6
RIP, little Emmanuel 😢. Horrible people. Horrible story 😢💜
Thank you for sharing this Mr Ron. What a sad story, but a beautiful tribute to a sweet little boy that was taken to soon by vile, evil people.
man, living back in those days, wasn't fair even for that little boy. R.I.P.
Oh that poor kid! Parents back then were pretty heavy with the punishment but hopefully not until death. My Grandma was an orphan train child from New York city who wound up in Austin Minnesota. She got adopted by a nice couple who had boys and their only girl had died. My grandmother was treated like a princess thank goodness! There are many stories of the orphans being abused. I think there is a museum regarding the Orphan Train in South Dakota. I'm not sure. Thanks for a beautiful video Ron

How truly sad!! Poor little guy!!😢😢😢 Breaks your heart!
This story should and does show the ugliness of sin. The ironic part is that good parents usually teach their children not to lie, and this precious child died for telling the truth and shamed in the end his adoptive parents. Thank you Ron for this story.

Poor little Emmanuel.😢 Five years was not long enough of a sentence for them, they should have gotten way more time than that. Even if they did get 10 years, that wasn't long enough either. Talking about the Amish community, they are hard working people and they have lots of children, (usually 9-12 children) so the children can help out on their farms. My family is friends with an Amish family, they are good people. When ever we went to visit them, they always treated us like family and invited us to eat supper with them, they make really good bread. If you ever see any of the Amish in public, they will speak to each other in their Amish language which is German & Swedish mixed together. They speak that way for their own privacy. Keep yourself safe out there Ron.🙂💟
So sad and heartbreaking 😢😢😢. That poor boy 💔💔💔. They should never get out.

Hundreds of parents each day kill their children in abortion clinics.😔
It happened quite often that adult would go to poor house and orphanages and get children to work as little servants on the farm. One can only imagine all the trauma that took place in a child's life to be eventually placed in a poor house or orphanage only to be taken as cheap farm laborers.
Such a good young soul ... with rememberance and respect

A very sad story but I really enjoyed how you ended it Ron Thank you
Heartbreaking the way Emmanuel was fostered by a nasty, vile vicious monster family. They should have got life behind bars. Emmanuel at 8 yrs old had more dignity and respect for the truth than the people he was with because that's what his parents taught him. Brave Emmanuel is a shining example & embassador of truth. Keeping it as Emmanuel would want it. I am the Way the Truth and the life. John 14:6 A beautiful headstone that he will never be forgotten RIP Emmanuel.

So sad. Rest forever in peace, precious child. So many today are physically abusive and cruel to young people. I'll never understand it.
So very sad and a terrible ending for little Emanuel. Not taking anything from his awful death but even in the 1960s/70s I was orphaned and ‘farmed’ out to work on the land as a child and it was indeed back breaking and never ending. However, comparing the lives of some youngsters today, who have parents with no common sense and who pander to their offsprings every whim or push their own twisted agenda on them, I am grateful for the honest hard work I did. It sure makes one develop a backbone and enables them to see the insane from the good people. It may have been a tough beginning but it made me the strong, independent, perceptive person I am today. The way things are going in this world we may well all be looking to the likes of the Amish to survive in years to come. RIP Emanuel.
Ron. Thank you for telling this little boys story . God bless his soul
The lyrics at the end are so moving and reflective of how many people feel today: "And I can't feel at home in this world anymore." I'd imagine that's how the little boy felt when he said, "Pa, I'm cold."
