Hanen LSF-16 Automatic Feeder Setup
I set up my new, used Hanen automatic cattle feeder! I had legs welded on to keep it off the ground to help it stay out of the mud and in good condition!

How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a KZread channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

Congratulations on new feeder. Also, nice to see Hanna, too......
Slowly getting the right equipment for your cattle setup, each piece makes it more convenient and frees up valuable time.
Nice added touch with the Kuester farm Decal 👍🏾 congrats on the new used feeder !
Looks like a cool pasture feeder gadget. Hopefully they'll learn "Pavlov's Buzzer" and make the best use of the feeder.
I have to say that I like this style of video "editing" ?? where you take several weeks/months to create a video on 1 topic. I'm sure you have put out other videos during the time sense you bought the feeder but held back the giving us 5 minutes of info in each video but saved it all back to give us a more complete story in 1 shot. Very nice :)
Hey Ryan!! Hey Hannah!! Is that a new logo for the farm? The auto feeder looks interesting. Maybe have to live stream it if close to the house this fall.
Crazy that new expensive equipment like that comes with so many problems. Hopefully it’s reliable once it’s all set.
Looks like it should be a nice feeder
Thanks for the video Ryan. Nice new feeder. Did Hannah do the pin striping?
WOW that’s a high tech feeder. Thanks for sharing Ryan you guys take care and have a great week 👍
Hey Ryan and family! Great video and God bless
Have you tried crushed concrete for your paths/driveways instead of gravel? I had a few forest "roads" made/resurfaced with crushed concrete almost 10 years ago, and it holds up really well. The new logo looks very nice. Thanks for the video.
Pretty cool feeder for sure....
Great Video Ryan, a nice new feeder, thanks for sharing
Awesome feeder hope it works out well for u
Hi Ryan nice feeder. How many calf's have gotten this spring. Have a great day
Thanks Ryan. You know... the JCB is lookin' a little... uuummmmm used.
Could mount a WiFi cam on that feeder since it's got power. Could also add another panel if it ever needed it.
Believe it or not, black is a better emitter of heat *because* it's a better absorber of heat... but in this case, the white will probably help keep it cooler due to the reduced absorption in the first place.
What a blow to Amercan workers. June 28th 2024, John Deere announces 610 more layoffs, along with hundreds already fired, as the company moves production to Mexico.

The layoffs ect is because farmers aren't buying new equipment, all people layed off were pool employees under a year and only 2 products are going to Mexico you make it sound like all production is going there not true. John Deere just spent millions on land in Indiana😮,30 % wage increase probably didn't help over there UAW $30 an hour
Ramping up at the end of a sentence is for a question. That vid sounded like 137 questions, lol.
Good stuff
Can we address how bad the JCB is leaking down? Crazy on your paint time-lapse
Love the new feeder, hopefully it helps control the heifers feed better.
Are you going to look for a box grater for the steer lot
Does this guy keep making it happen,or what. Stay safe guys!
Hey Ryan and Hannah, Just a question did you face the feeder solar panel to the South. where it will collect the most sun. Anyway nice feeder. Great idea with the painting again. how is the corn roller project coming along. Take care, Take it Easy and trust JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good morning
Is the corn and oats mix what you are planning to finish out steers with?
If your goal is to get the heifers to come at the doing of the bell, cut ration into 3 Servings and increase feeding times to 3. Better yet go 1/4 ration 4 times. Make sure bell is as loud as possible. Keep the cow who first ate at bell with others to demonstrate correct behavior to heifers. Good luck.
Don´t you have to grind or at least crack the kernals? I would suspect that the kernals would go through the degestive system of a ruminat undigested.
That feeder looks pretty nice😄👍
Breed your heifers to calve before the cows. A 2 year old is the hardest stage of life to breed back. This way they have a longer time frame to breed back without getting behind the cow group.
Your explanations are appreciated for those of us who don't have cows in our back yard.
Interesting System, but I would attach wooden runners touching the ground, main purpose would give steel legs a longer life.
❤😮😊
Get them trained on that sound and they'll also come running when a truck goes into reverse.
It seems to me that you are slowly converting your farm into a ranch...inquiring minds want to know...or is this a newer endeavor to your farming .,.,.?
New jcb and it seeps that bad
What about a dyi concrete pad it's not that expensive ?
im guessing you will have the fattest deer in the area and turkeys too plus pheasants
