Hands-on: HP Elitebook Revolve 810 a sturdy little laptop/tablet swivel hybrid

It's not the sleekest tablet around, but the Revolve is a very nice little laptop for the businessfolk, if you can forgive its older processor.

Hi, i am planning to buy it but I m worried about its display and the ability to support adobe software. Can you please tell me weather all these things working good?? And should I go for it??
this is the one i got to buy a cmos batt for, i luv it cus its just neat. i lucked out.
I have one of the original ones 2740p it has a swivel hinge too with the pen for the screen, it's way thicker than this heavier too probably, but the battery life is better and it also has an extra battery add on for longer use. there is a multitouch version too the 2760p; Though mine is also supposed to be capacitive... But for some reason it only works with the pen. I got it for... £76 I think. Also has a dock with extra ports and an optical drive.
can it play the sims 4 and photoshop for drawing?
Wouldn't be a Scott Stein review without him mentioning how amazing an Apple device is.
The swivel tablet mode is priceless if you are a designer or if you just like to hand write notes. My Fujitsu T902 is absolutely fantastic in this aspect. Pricey, but worth it.
I really like the design, Hopefully they'll update it with Haswell.
Looking to update from the HP tc4400 which only had digitizer screen but had been incredibly rugged. These are pretty cheap now, like $200. No laptop is worth $1400
I got to try out this laptop for a weeks, it was Pretty awesome. My only issue is that it gets a bit too hot.

Where can I buy this now?
I got this laptop literally this last year from a pawn shop :D Honestly, it is gold compaired to what I am used to. Battery life is awful, but I treat it like a phone and put it on the charger every night and take a cord with me to class and do good enough. And it is pretty tough. I dropped it from shoulder height onto cold hard classroom floors and only barely chipped a corner. Pleased with it for how old it is and how cheap I got it. Team lateaf for life :D

Ive been using this laptop since 2014 and it is working just fine. The battery is an issue. But it gives me good performance. So I use it as a desktop. It is pretty fast even still. I do design, edit videos, basically all the graphic and editing related work

how many hours does the battery life last?
Have it for school that they have it is a nice laptop although it has 7.1 professional but it is still great
Is your g1 810 laptop heating? Mine is hot and fan is loud :( maybe i would have to buy new fan?
Hey Scott I got one of those laptop I need help with it I leave it on power for 2 days and when I try to turn it on nothing came on the screen I have to plug the power cord in it for it to turn on when it turned on i here the fan and the signal light blinking up how can I fix it
My model which is the HP elitebook revolve 810 g2 is actually pretty quick considering that it has an Intel i7 vPro and has gotten cheaper (100$) since it's a bit old now.
Is it good for gaming and video editing
How long is the battery life? You just talked your way around it.
How to repair this laptop
I kinda wish that swivel mechanic was adopted to any 7 inches high end Chromebook.. The potential to be able to run Linux & Android on it is whack..😎
I had a 810 revolve G3 and it was stolen on a trip. Luckily insurance paid for it and I found a G1 on eBay for a GOOD price !! Mine has the i7 Vpro I love the backlit keyboard !!! I upgraded from 8GB to 12GB and she's FAST for a almost 10 year old PC !! What sucks is that its not upgradable to WIN 11 ???
Is this the G2 or G3?
How to open the computer after inserting the cable.
Waiting for a 12" version with Haswell...

Wait no longer! It's already here, and the price has come down to reasonable levels too.
Yeah and not a 4th gen intel inside there... I just can't help myself but to think that there was something wrong maybe with the manufacturing of the magnesium body or something and it got delayed, then they rushed it into market to get it in the summer time frame, maybe they didn't want to spend more money on it... I think that if they waited for august or September and put a 4th gen inside maybe refine somethings a little bit and it would be one of the best laptop for back to school
July 2019 Tiger Direct has refurbs from $250.

How's it working for you and what kind of stylus can you use with it?
Is it just me or does it seem that cnet are uploading these videos on their first take now
How much?
im watching the video on the core i 7 version
If it would just come with a stylus or a digitizer pen, it would worth the prize.
How mash many !?
The best chassis they had was tc1000. And really, you need a stylus for a serious work other than point and click games.
you have to have haswell atleast for that price
Its very nice laptop
excellent .
To me still is.
Lol, Im watching this video on the same laptop xD

@Julia 's I'd say, it's amazing for the money you pay especially now. The touchscreen and i5 is the cherry on top :)
Just like HP 2700p series laptops....interesting.
I have this laptop but my battery needs to be replaced id say its a really good laptop but the battery.....
Price $.......
That price is way too high for 1366x768
ill give you 3 years. i wouldnt either now. but thats the way its going. a 5 inch phone was ridicules a year or 2 ago
how long does the battery lasts?

You know you are in trouble when your just released Laptop already needs a Upgrade.. And what's wrong with companies today, if you going to release a product make sure it is the best it can be, I don't have to buy a new PC every 6 months, do they think money grow on trees, haven't they heard about recession?? My current laptop, which is the Dell XPS m1330, is now 7 years old, and is still going strong, a true beast,,
For the price of these "hybirds" I can get a nicely spec'd traditional 15.6" laptop and 7" tablet, thus having 2 separate machines that allows best of mobilty and power.

For the same price just get a macbook.... they don't have any of the stupid swivel and touch screen features. It just works
At this point in time, definitely not worth price. It doesn't even have an HDMI port (major drawback I think). All that being said I do believe that, with some refinements, the hp elitepad revolve is a serious contender. Especially against the likes of the Lenovo Twist (which I personally like). Once they upgrade the Revolve's processor, if they add on an HDMI and maybe one more USB I'm sold!
the speakers are awful

Not worth the price at all.

Its not worth the carbon footprint of producing such a poor product.....HP - invent (crap)
your review is under 3 mins.....that is not a "look" thats a wink or maybe a glimpse......def not long enough to be a "look"......maybe on your next review try not being so lazy.
This is my work computer. Its awful. .Horrible amount of money and horrible battery life. The worst thing is that when you place it on the table occasionally it just turns off. I don't mean drop it, I mean just setting it on the table or even moving it on a table. I had to send it to HP and so did several of my co-workers for that reason. Additionally all the parts are cheap. It takes no beating.
