I have a recipe you might want to try it is my all-time favorite: 9X13 cake pan layer cherry pie filling, crushed pineapple with juice, yellow cake mix, sprinkle 8oz chopped walnuts on top, and drizzle 1/2 cup of melted butter. Bake @ 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes until golden brown. This is what I had for my birthday when I was a little girl and I loved it. Vanilla Ice Cream on top Yummy!!!!!

I have made a similar dessert for almost 50 years. I started using frozen peach slices instead of the canned pie filling the past 10 years. I also sprinkle pecan chips over the top after adding the butter. I've never used the instant oatmeal and brown sugar, but I'll try it next time. And yes, French Vanilla icecream is my fav with it.

Here’s another “dump” I’ll bet you’d love during the holidays (from my power company’s newsletter). 1 - 15oz can solid pack pumpkin 1 can evaporated milk 3 large eggs 1 cup sugar in the raw (I use cane sugar instead) 4 teas pumpkin pie spice 1 pkg yellow cake mix 3/4 c butter melted 1 & 1/2 c chopped walnuts In large bowl beat first five ingredients until smooth. Transfer to a greased 13x9 baking dish. Sprinkle cake mix over the pumpkin mixture then drizzle with the butter; top with walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream and enjoy!

Kelly, I just came across your video for the first time about the best ever dump cake and as soon as I get the play button almost immediately a few minutes less than a minute into it you started talking about how you and your stepmom Kathleen we're doing a blog before covid and all of that stuff and how happy you were in the kitchen with her because she's so great in the kitchen and she was teaching you everything you needed to know I just wanted to let you know I am so happy to hear someone speak about their step parent in the manner you spoke about Miss Kathleen. I wish every single step here and stepchild could have a relationship like you do with your Kathleen, ( not sure if you call her stepmom so I didn't put that LOL). I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you speaking in such a positive way it is very uplifting and inspiring to hear things like that I really do appreciate you sharing that bit of information with us. Hi Ms Kathleen!

I keep my cobblers covered in the fridge. They don’t last more than a few days @ my house, so I don’t know the answer to how long it will keep. I’m guessing it would be fine for a few extra days if covered and kept in the fridge.

My mom used to make something similar. I think it was called One Cup cobbler, because all the ingredients were just one cup. I'll have to look in her recipe book and see if I can find it.

This is the first dessert that I learned to make approx. 60 years ago. The only difference is the amount of brown sugar you used (ewww, too sweet) and I melted the stick of butter and poured it over the top. Delicious!

Your hair looks so cute like that! 😁 I was gonna say this is almost exactly like the cobbler my husband makes that he learned in boy scouts. When we go camping, he does it in the Dutch oven and layers charcoal or wood embers all around and on top while it bakes. TIP: try skipping the oatmeal and using a spi e cake and apple pie filling!

This reminds me of my Cherry Crunch recipe. It’s just cherry pie filling (or your flavor of choice) with a box of yellow cake mix, pecans, then a stick of melted butter on top. I might have to try adding instant oatmeal on top. Looks delish!!!

Hi Kelly! I'm not sure if you read comments from 2 years later..maybe someone else will see this and know the answer. Instead of pie filling (I don't have any) can I use jarred peaches that I have on hand? They are Kirkland brand and have been sitting in my pantry. Would like to use them in something ;) Also, I noticed you are using imperial butter, does the butter matter? Margarine or butter? Does it matter at all? Thank you! I want to make this soon and I really need to wait, as we are having French toast this weekend.

Ah yes an old favorite! Basically you have made an improved version of "Ranger Cobbler" from the boy scout cook book. Ranger Cobbler is just peaches, cake mix, and butter baked in a Dutch oven over the coals of a campfire. Going to have to try this version for the next potluck I go to!
