It's nice to see Gaster try and work with them to be the father they deserve. Also I love that Papyrus hugged him with a look of not sadness, love, or even pity, but understanding. He understands that progress is built on acceptance and he did it to move to the future. If he makes efforts like hugging him it'll eventually feel more natural.

Papyrus being the first one to try and mend things and show his kindness is truly in character and also this is heart warming and heart wrenching at the same time. He knows and acknowledges that he was short sighted and cruel. But at the same time he's giving them the space they need so that they come to him when they are ready. The fact that again, it's not taking two seconds to forgive him and get over it and live happily ever after is what makes this series so dang good. The obvious ptsd is shown wonderfully. And it's so sad. Also shows that gaster's the type that deals with grief through work. Like he is obviously remorseful but he also knows he done goofed up so badly it's going to take time. Might never be forgiven but the hug is a step of "i'll tolerate you" Absolutely love this story.

I’m so glad this story is continuing like this. I can see how Gaster struggles with integrating and preferring to self-isolate, but it’s uplifting to see him be willing to at least meet Papyrus in the middle. Literally, Papyrus turned around to hug him and Gaster returned the hug, despite him having a history of being adverse to them before. Maybe someday it will be Gaster who will initiate a hug instead :)

They have done a phenomenal job at writing Gasters character in Handplates. He is probably the best mad scientist I’ve seen in season 1 he stood tall and proud and he was intimidating in almost every scene past the first couple episodes and he was the top 1% of monsters being a royal scientist. he was a god among monsters he had it all! And yet just like that he lost it all to his own creation. This all would not have happened either but it was just bad decisions after bad decisions. Now he suffers the consequences hunched over with no confidence whatsoever he has almost nothing due to the thing he cared about most (his reputation) being gone and the only people that remember him are the people he tortured leaving him in an endless loop of guilt. I think this teaches a very important lesson that in the words of Sans himself “no one is above consequences”.

i love how he was written as an egomaniac (zarla even calls him one) and yet when he returns from the void, no one knows who he is. little of his work survived, and none of it is credited to him. him adjusting to the world as it had changed without him shows he's ready to accept that he never really mattered. not as much as he thought he did.

Another episode! I so love watching your Handplates dubs! Moments between Papyrus and Gaster are always nice to watch. :) You did a good job voicing them both, Phoenix.

Papyrus is like 5 feet and 10 inches and Gaster seems to be 6 feet.

Countless great dubs, thank you for your hard work! I am sure that was papyrus deciding he was going to keep on the path of forgiveness. He is determined to make a better life for all three of them.

I think the story will ebd by gaster taking the handplates off of them. Papyros would forgive him but sans wouldnt

SPlease fix your spelling, capitalization, and grammar. S in sans should be capital, ebd should be end, papyror should be papyrus, the apostrophe in wouldn’t is missing, and there should be a period at the end.

Reconecting with a parent that abused you is... Harsh. Zarla represented it very well. My case is not that extreme, but the relationship will always have scars. You can forgive, but the damage is done. Some things can be recovered, others not. At least Gaster is aknolegeble of his mistakes, what... Many parents aren't.
