    If you try the wool watch out for radiant feed back on to the nozzle as we did this with a diesel space heater we ran on waste oil instead and placed large bolts inside the burning funnel not realising the massive radiant heat storage fed back on to the jet nozzle which being a plastic beac mount melted The older version were solid steel but most likely that's why they changed them to stop waste oil being used. !!! Caution at times of experimental periods.

    Great machine. I am interested in why you chose to have the steam coming out from the outside coil rather than the inner one. Especially if you're putting a stainless steel cowling around the boiler. I would think that the water would get pre-heated in the outer coil and then *_superheated_* as it progresses through the inner coil which is where the highest temperatures are at. As I said, this would work best with cowling fitted. Any thoughts?

    I'm trying my best to figure out how to not buy a huge hot water box from Northern Tool. I've been thinking for years on the tankless system that replaced hot water tanks in homes & the units that converts water to steam. I've been detailing cars & boats for years with a small Harbor Freight dry vapor steamer but I have to streamline things now. The advantage of the Northern Tool hot boiler is the high psi it puts out but it's bulky & $1,500. Got to be a better scientific way & it looks like you're on the path, good job. Something like a flash point or bang from a small unit. The detailing industry is moving more toward steam.

    Wow, that is very effective! I'm kinda shocked at how much water you're able to convert to steam. Is a boiler like this safe from intermittent water flow? I am just imagining the flow interrupted, the coils becoming very hot and then when an amount of water enters producing a flash explosion. Just thinking about possible safety concerns. Thanks for your videos, I do appreciate them.

    The reason he has the syphon tank ( which is not really a syphon tank at all) is to pre-pressurize the water sufficiently that the pressure caused by the steam generation does not try to back flow which would cause steam sputtering as the water pulses into the burn chamber . The mains pressure would be insufficient - his idea is one good solution among other possibilities.

  • @NOBOX7

    @NOBOX7

    because the water expands 1800 times this causes a drastic volume increase and this volume is accelerated by the lack of pressure holding it in the tube , the steam can go super sonic speeds because of this , just like a bb gun , air pushes the bb , well you got steam and water pushing steam

    Now I feel like a total idiot. Of course the best steam generator is just a condenser in reverse. If I take this and flip the design vertical, I have a great powerplant for a high output steam engine. I'm wondering what kind of extra efficiency I could eek out with insulation around the copper and feed cold water into the tube. The dual coil is great since one is a steam tube and the inner coil seems to be the vapor tube heating the steam. I'll have to attach a can to one end with a valve so I can bleed water at the start, but this might make something interestingly powerful. I'm also entertaining what I could do with a walking stick that contains a full working steam engine and drivewheel so you can do stupid things like steam power your longboard with a drive stick, or useful stuff that requires a rotary motion. I'm thinking of just using a paddle turbine in the wheel hub instead of shoving a whole piston assembly into a walking stick, but a single inline piston would sound so much better. Who knows, design some adult heelie attachments for your shoes and you've got a pretty convenient steampunk trike (well... you are the trike).

    Bro I had made this years ago when I was working in A oil wel drilling company, but I had made better then yours because you are doing two major mistakes in your steam wash gun. 1- you never made a tight clip on the water supply and if the pipe go out then the very hot steam can burn your hands and your face and your body, you never taken the safety measure here and if pipe go out when it is too hot, then the other people around you are also in high risk because if it suddenly happen then the operator will throw the gun because he can't bear the steam coming back from the water supply connection with the wash gun. Ok bro? 2- The coils was not covered with stainless steel pipe.

  • @NOBOX7

    @NOBOX7

    3 жыл бұрын

    The operators of this gun are to wear protective clothing to avoid this . The amount of water that comes out is negligible ive had it happen in testing its not much of an event . Also the covering is a bad idea , it inhibits performance of the machine , tried it had to remove it . This is a blow torch basicly and you wouldnt put a shroud on a rose bud burner would you ? But yes i get your point . The hoses are all connected so one cannot simply slide off as you mention .
