Here's how to play Handbags and Gladrags - one of my favorite and most iconic piano songs ever!
The songs was first released by Chris Farlowe back in 1967 (or so Wikipedia tells me!). Many people know the Rod Stewart version from the 70s or the Stereophonics version from the early 2000s. It's also well known as the theme tune to the UK version of the TV series The Office starring Ricky Gervais.
Personally, I grew up with the Stereophonics version, so my tutorial is most accurate to that version, but they're all very similar. We're in the Key of Bb major, and this tutorial just covers the main piano part.

Great video - thanks. Just for the record .. the song was written by Mike d'Abo in the 60's. Chris Farlow also had a hit with it... long before Rod Stewart!

He certainly recorded the song ,as for the number one claim ,that never happened,trust me without me having to check it never was a number one record .....but hey you might have had a great summer in 66 and remembered it that way.

He can play drums, piano, block flute, faemi, fl studio, guitar, xylophone, bells, accordion, harmonica, tambourine, sings beautifully and does beatbox.
