Great video Matilda! This takes me back over 40 years ago to a village called Hose near Melton Mowbray, watching the village blacksmith fit shoes to horses. I remember the heat & the smell when the hot shoe was fitted. What a fantastic skill. I believe the blacksmith in Hose still exists.

Another amazing interview and to see the skills involved in shoeing a horse Sadly the Shire horse which was once the backbone to British industry is much forgotten but how magnificent and powerful they are Well done Matilda 💯

So great, for some reason, I thought those horses shoes would be stamped out in a factory. That's a lot of work.

Made to look straightforward by a skilled craftsman but that requires concentration and working at quite a pace while the metal is very hot. Every village would have a had a blacksmith in past times both for horses, implements and ironmongery. Fab video, Well Done. A great personal experience for you, too.

A very compelling watch 😊 Amazing skills involved! And that beautiful Shire was so calm when his/her shoe was being checked over. Great video and respect to Harvey. 😊😊

A very interesting video, that’s the first time I have ever seen a horse shoe being made. I wonder what the cost is to re-shoe a shire horse. A good question to have asked would have been why does the blacksmith hit the anvil with the hammer sometimes before hitting the metal and in between making the shoe
