I suspect it would have cut short the video by a fair amount...the damage to the torso would have jumped to what we saw at the 10 min mark.

I think for some people shooting is just never gets old. Tbh i shot only once in my life, because of strict gun regulations in my country, but thoose 15 shots from ak 74 was freaking amazing

Thank you for adding the slow motion camera. Without it we wouldn't be able to see the actual amount of trauma caused by the various rounds impacting the ballistic dummy. Seeing how the shock wave radiates outward from the impact point is astounding. Amount of soft tissue deformation is scary!!

I watch it on .25x speed and you can really see the results.
Seeing that chest completely blow apart, come out, and go back In is absolutely INSANE. Now that's alot of damage 🤯 hope all is well Scott!

Can we all agree here that Scott would be absolutely fine during a zombie invasion?
I'm only a casual observer of this Channel and watching Scott plowing his giant Pickup into a table never fails to put a smile on my face. Also, what does he do for a living to afford so many amazing firearms, it's like he has a never-ending supply of guns - some in totally weird custom calibres.

@@h.a.9880 Before KZread, he was a cop. I bet his family was glad he got into a less dangerous profession. Well, kind of - most of the time anyway.
As far as I've seen, Scott's the only one getting his money's worth out of the torsos. If you're looking to go bigger, I think the only logical step up from the 700 NE is a 20mm, an Anzio or something of the like.

Always good to see the 460 get some screen time, I have one and feel that the caliber is underappreciated with its slightly bigger brother always taking the spotlight. The best is when you take it to an indoor range 😎

Unfortunately he would need an extra licence and a large tax stamp to use a 20mm as it's considered a high explosive ordnance even if it's not using a HE Projectile

I've always wanted someone to use specialty 12 gauge rounds on one of these torsos. Buckshot is cool but the Broadhead steel fragmenting round is terrifying. Even dragonsbreath or giant hollow points. And you gotta finish it off with a 10 gauge slug. I think you are the man or the job! Thanks for putting out some of the best content on KZread so consistently!

Garand thumb did a video testing ballistics of 12g vs. torsos and analog heads, but he never really used any specialty rounds. That would be very interesting to see some of the more exotic shotgun shells used on these torsos, and maybe even have Matt from Demo ranch to make some custom shotgun shells like he did years ago on his channel

That torso is awesome for seeing how much energy is displaced. Nacho cheese, pineapple and other notable food items explode great but, with the slow-mo camera it’s insane how these rounds affect the torso. “Whoa” is a great description, along with the contagious laugh Scott! Thanks for another Great video. Keep up the great work!!

There definitely needs to be a Kentucky ballistics drinking game - e.g. every time he says “underwood ammo jacketed hollow-points”, makes an exclamation like “oh dear!”, “mr zombie”, does a maniacal laugh, “here we go!” etc 😂
the bullet stopping in the torso means it delivered all its energy to the target. rather than "wasting" energy going all the way through

@@Marktk72 shot placement is the difference. If you hit ribs (or even spinal bone) going in and going out, you're going to transfer a _ton_ of energy breaking through.

@@Marktk72 hollow points are designed to dump all their energy into the target. Over-penetration is a waste of energy and a liability at the same time With FMJs, even 9mm will go all the way through a torso like this, you can watch Garand Thumb’s recent video about 9mm vs. .45 to see that
Scott, I like hand cannons myself but I'm curious to see the effectiveness on zombie torsos of common lite calibers such as .32, .380, and .22 in case we have zombie troubles haha.

Watching the S&W 500 Magnum cut that Zombie's torso in HALF, was the FUNNIEST thing that I've seen all day! Thanks for the vid!!
When the Zombie Apocalypse kicks off Scott will be safe as houses.
At the PBR distance you were shooting, the psi coming out of the muzzle is doing a lot more damage than the actual bullet. This would be cool to see when done from 25 yards.

Well he didn't really specify that he was showing the damage from the actual bullet, just the guns themselves. Plus, these videos are just for fun, not for showing like actual scientific ballistic data. Lol. It's just entertainment, and Scott excels at that.

Still, if you want to show what a BB handgun can/will do to that torso, it's best to stay back a bit to demonstrate that. I know Scott will understand my comment just fine. :-)

Scott those slow mo bits are so good. It really lets you see how much damage each round does. Keep up the slow mo.
Lesson for today - if you completely destroy the zombie's body, you don't need to worry about hitting it in the head.

Man i love your videos and everything you do but slinging that mud up on the camera and presumably your dad just made me realize how great of a cameraman your dad is. Didn't yell wtf or stop recording or anything, just walked up close for the closeup end shot. What a boss. Respect.

Just like Frankenstein, the mad scientist makes the zombie and every other vicious terrorizing tool to destroy. Not sure how people can be so excited over seeing a makeshift human torso being cannoned to peices. Starting to believe the movies will make the craze treat humans with a soul like zombies. They keep feeding and feeding it.

Scott, the next time you're saving the world from zombies I would love to see what happens with a 50cal muzzle loader, a 450 bushmaster hollow point, & a 458 socom hollow point. Great stuff buddy. Keep it coming. To everyone who reads this... please pray for the people of Ukraine.
I was impressed with the damage the .357 did. Bone fragments and mush everywhere in the dummy's shoulder. Then the .454 Casul nearly blew the whole shoulder off, dumping all of it's energy inside without going through. Then the .460 magnum literally dumped the dummy's liver and several ribs on the table. Now I'm lost for words.

Sitting here watching this it came to me, I'd love to see a water jug / ballistic gel penetration test with your 458lott with a FMJ, a solid brass and a woodleigh hydrostatically stabilised brass bullet. If you see this, have the time to read it and hell even consider it that would be awesome 👌🏻 keep it up man glad you're still with us.

Wow! I"d love to see you do the hand cannons on a zombie again, but at a long range, say 50+ yds. It'd be really interesting to see the difference in impact with the travel distance between!
The crazy thing about this video is, for me at least, it really makes me think about the damage a gun would do if I ever needed to defend myself. It's just insane seeing what would happen to a human being on the wrong end of one of these. Makes you really think.

I’ve been working crazy hours at work, taking courses to be plumber and an electrician ALL in hopes of one day being able to own as many guns as possible, my own land and to build a range so magnificent and vast that I can shoot all day long!

Absolutely love the damage the .454 did on the torso! Makes me wish that I never got rid of mine but it was too expensive to shoot often. After watching the hole that the 500 mag did , now me want one of those.

If I didn't hand load, i wouldn't have been able to shoot 454. Reloading took it from 1-3 bucks per shot to under 50 cents though. Reloading mostly equalizes the cost per shot of almost everything though as long as you can keep the brass in good condition, so it's a major advantage for us wheel gunners.

Next time you do one of these tests I'd be curious to see what would happen at more realistic ranges with hand cannons. 10 yards, 20 yards, 50 yards. For rifles do 50, 100, 200 yards if possible.

$2,500 for that torso.. it’s very ornate, but that is still extremely expensive.

That first shot is survivable with smaller rounds like 9mm with a full metal jacket.
