Jp has a great band for any mood. Lovebites, Hanabie, Nemophila, Bandmaid, Hagane, STMLT... I could go on, but yeah you can find anything. Babymetal, Roselia RAS, Gacharic Spin... oh and I'll chuck in Nek as good newcomers for lighter rock lovers.

With Hanabie you have found the best all-female metal band from Japan at the moment. It doesn't really matter which song you continue with, Hanabie don't have a single boring song and they are all very different from each other, so it never gets boring with this band. But if you want to see how the band started, then first watch the MV of Time Out (not on the official channel, but on MichealPon channel), which, according to our information, they filmed for a talent competition during their school days. The first official music video after winning the talent competition was for the song Envy. Otherwise, the early song L.C.G (great MV) is one of our all-time favorite songs and it is the first song that is really Harajukucore and not (normal) metalcore.

It has already been mentioned in the comments but Gaku Taura (CL drummer) pretty much scouted them. He produced and offered to record their first mini album in his studio. He is one of their mentors and has been credited as a drum director in their first full length album which this is from "Girls Reform Manifest". Amazing band. Great humans. I really like metalcore so this band struck all the right notes for me. I hope you check out more !

I saw these ladies live the other day and they were amazing. Wall of death, circle pits, crowd surfing, crowd interactions on level 11 and the band eating Swedish sweets on stage! The best metal concert I've seen in a long long time!

Japanese metal is the best metal nowadays. Hanabie are fantastic. Yukina is an incredible vocalist and a ball of energy. Matsuri writes some incredible songs and killer guitar riffs. Her clean vocals are outstanding. For more Hanabie try Otaku lovely densetsu. Since you like harsh vocals try Nemophila’s song Dissension (Japanese mv).

The song was produced and arranged by the drummer from Crystal Lake.

​​​@@HeadbangHarbor he's not the original drummer for Crystal Lake and he was Hanabie's producer first. They have a lot of musical influences. Maximum the Hormone the most. Babymetal. Vocaloid music. Hanabie introduced me to Vocaloid.

I didn't know that specifically, but Gaku Taura (Crystal Lake drummer) is their mentor and has played on occasion for them when they were in between drummers.

@Ningishzida I think he met them at a highschool band competition. Their original drummer quit. They had a replacement drummer I've seen the video. People say that is him and it was how he met them but I dunno if that is true.

@@Jordan-Ramses Original drummer formed the MTH cover band with them in middle school...Kaede I think her name was. She quit to prepare for exams, and they had a couple guy drummers through the years who were never officially part of the band, from my understanding, before Sae joined...you'll see 2 different male drummers in older videos and live performances. I know I saw Gaku playing for them last year, after Sae left, at least 1 show. But I never actually heard HOW he met them, other than they are all in Tokyo in the metal scene.

I wake up and thank the music gods for this band every single fucking day! It's a true blessing to have Hanabie exist and be as ridiculously flawless as they are. There are many great metal, punk & hardcore bands, Japanese and otherwise, but these guys have no equal. I can absolutely understand that it is not for everyone, hell many people will hate this what with all the anime vocals, random-ass genre flips, and their "we don't give a fuck, we do what we want" approach, but for those for whom it all clicks... It's pure magic! "Wanna try my magic? Try it!! Saaaah!!!" Hanabie, Tales of Villain, 2023 ;)

Japanese metal is awesome - its almost the only music I listen to these days. I love Hanabie - they are my second favourite band right now. But if you are checking out Japanese metal, and especially if you like the classic metal sound from the 80s and 90s, then you absolutely must check out LOVEBITES. They are without question the most musically talented metal band to appear in the last 20 years. In terms of pure musicianship, they are on par with Dream Theater and Symphony-X. Just last week, they appeared on Mainstage 1 at the Hellfest festival in France, along with Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth, Machine Head, Polyphia, Fear Factory, Metallica, Extreme and Foo Fighters and others. They are touring the US in September.

If you're really gonna dive deeper into Japamese mteal/rock you need to start with Lovebites, Nemophila and Band-Maid. More Hanabie as well. The music scene in Japan is currently the best in the world.

The primary music composer is the guitarist/clean vocalist Matsuri...and she's a damn genius. Over and over again, she mashes up multiple genre influences, tempo and time signature changes, all-over-the-map instrumentation, and her signature killer riffs so excessively that it SHOULD be an unlistenable mess. Instead, every single song just flat works. They have no weak tracks. Not. One.

It is perhaps no coincidence that their sound reminds you a bit of Crystal Lake. Crystal Lake's drummer is Hanabie's producer!

Hanabie will be one of the two support bands for the band Jinjer on a North America tour this September and October. I will be seeing them in San Antonio. The struggle is real my friend, I've reacted to alot of Hanabie and even my community have been correcting me on how to pronounce the bands name correctly in all my videos on them 🤣 so after watching your video I can happily say I know how to say it right from now on 🙌

I get to see them live in September and I'm stoked. Caught the last 2 songs of their set last year at Louder Than Life, so I'm glad that I can get the full experience this go around.

Lovebites is my favorite metal japanese band but Hanabie is a close second , Nemophila and Band Maid are more hard rock but both in third place ... all 4 bands are top in what they do

- There are various types of songs on the album, some of them are heavy mixed music featuring rap, while "Sunrise Miso Soup," "Sentimental Heroine," and "Invisible Wall" have a good hook with a hardcore-like running part. Is "speed" an important element for you? - Matsuri：Yes. I don't think too many songs are too fast, but most of the songs have a tempo (BPM) of 160 to 200. Maybe it is because I was a punk fan, but I wanted to create songs with a line that would raise everyone's spirits... If you look up the tempo of hit songs in this genre and the tempo that people find comfortable when listening to them while running, you will find many articles about that kind of music. I make songs while researching such things and thinking that it would be nice to have a song with a BPM of over 200. - When writing songs, are you more of a calculating type of music maker rather than a sensual type? - Matsuri: Yeah, I think that might be the case now. What interests me is that the lyrics is virtually similar to that of BABYMETAL's "Gimme Chocolate". The most bestial growl of hers can be heard in "TOUSOU".

Nice reaction! Love this band and everything about them. I would also recommend you listen to REIWA Dating Apps Generation. The drumming on that is WILD, it got some nice heavy guitar riffs and it shows Hanabie can do it all! Been listening to japanese metal on and off for while. Really got into it when Babymetal had a concert in Norway last winter. And then I was at a Hanabie concert just a week ago. It's been a ride and it's all been SO GOOD!!

Great band. I do love this song. It is not their best by a long way, IMO, but it is the one that has seemed to be the gateway for most new fans for the last couple of years or so. I'd recommend Nemophila as your next female Japanese metal band. Any of the live videos from the last year or so, or their MVs for 'Revive', 'Raitei', 'Adabana' or 'Rise'. Nemophila and Hanabie are probably the only two bands whose entire recorded catalogue is, to me a joy to listen to right down to the last song. Eventually you'll get to the peak metal insanity of Maximum the Hormone, but you may need a little more preparation before tackling them.

If you like Hanabie, a couple of other Japanese metalcore bands to check out are Paledusk and Ailifdopa. Possibly even more insanely eclectic than Hanabie. Each band has a distinct sound.

Saw them in concert, in Atlanta, last year, so freaking awesome and harder in person! And if you get a chance they also do a cover of the song "Believer" by Imagine Dragons. I believe it's a better version. Nemophila - Zen Undead Corporation - Sinner Saiseiga - Jumble

I was at their stockholm show few days ago and it was fuckin brutal. Soaked in sweat and constant headbanging!
