This OST is genuinely shows just how broken Papyrus is, while most Dustbeleif OSTs are just carbon copies of the Disbeleif OST, each song feels like a slow mental degradation of the once proud puzzle king and I love it. Especially Intermission + Dark Oro Primary where for the first time since Omega Flowey was a thing, a monster with the human souls was actually unsettling, this game is just awesome!

I agree. Halo's Dustbelief is almost like an entirely new AU. Not one where the main antagonist values justice over sanity (Chaotic Good), nor one where they value integrity over justice (Neutral Good), but rather a combination of both trauma and megalomania to cope with trauma. This AU (or rather, the mental state of Papyrus when fighting him) is best summed up as the definition of Negligence. Although being negligent usually means disregarding important details, in this case, it's neglecting all principles and emotions for a singular (and futile) cause.

Dark Oro Primary most certainly could be a battle between papyrus and is nearly shattered sanity, constantly trying to keep himself together to focus on the battle with the human, even though all of this godlike power is taking a toll on his sanity. If you listen closely, you can possibly hear groaning from papyrus, indicating that this much power is severely messing with his head. The "I forgive you!" parts were possibly papyrus himself trying to reach out to let you know he's still in there somewhere, possibly attempting to reach out for help. Such innocence being tormented by the stains of insanity after countless casualties can really break someone, even if they're just trying to do the right thing. Halo can correct me if I'm wrong, but this is just my own little theory.

I've listened an unhealthy amount of time to Enmity not gonna lie, it's my favorite song to ever come from a fangame. Halo's Dustbelief is a top tier fangame and it's insane it comes from Scratch.

This is the best possible version of Dustbelief that could ever exist, and you'll never change my mind.

halo is literally the only guy to make undertale fangames with osts that have (almost) no reminiscense of the main game ost i swear

Kind of, it uses parts of "The ID" in "Enmity" And "Game Over" which comes from "Earthbound: The Halloween Hack" which is where Megalovania first appeared so it kind of works. But yeah, most of the songs practically do not use other leitmotifs and created one used in other songs

Yeah this is why i love this fangame it also has a better flow to the phases and story unlike others

I love the vibe of this whole fight, there is not a hint of mercy in Papyrus's heart for you. You killed everyone over and over, drove his brother insane to the point where he tried to kill him just to stop YOU. And led him down a horrible path. No more jokes. No more mercy. He wants you dead. And this song is excellent, especially Emnity, I think it truly showcases that feeling.

the part in intermission (my favorite part) where papyrus's head is a flower is unique and cool i think it relates to how papyrus and flowey are connected idk tho

It’s probably because Flowey and Papyrus were close friends at one point.

This has a feeling ive never seen in an undertale mod... I love it :D Most of those fangames are literal copies of disbelief and you did your own thing, thats great!

8:20 Love the leitmotif in the background for The Id from Earthbound Halloween Hack, it feels oddly fitting

I love the music box section at the end of intermission. Definitely reminds me of freaks by Surf Curse

The menu is probably the most unsettling and moving pieces of the OST in my opinion.

Why did you remove that weird broken piano melody that plays in the Papyrus becoming AI generated scene? It was a big part of what made that scene so freaky

man no other undertale song gives the feeling of tension at the end. its awesome

best and only good dustbelief fangame. honestly the only downside for me was the backstory which was a bit weird but otherwise its really good. Almost like a cursed copy of undertale lol

Enmity is my favorite one

Every time I hear the scream at 12:03 I think of Sr Pelo

This is truly the most satanic undertale ost since “your in my way ost”

The fact that his idle animation is only moving his sword means that papyrus was only using 0.0001% of his true power
