Buck and Dare aren't hidden elsewhere during the drop, the engine only supports 1 texture camera at a time. Those two are technically in the pod with you, contorted into little boxes behind the door. Also the "girl" is Chris Butcher, or as the game calls her, Butchiana.

The Subtitle mistake one isn't a mistake. The "Marine" is the Marine in the pelican from the cutscene, the one who patches Dutch and Mickey through to Buck.

My best guess for the reused Rookie model is because, essentially, it saves ram to have multiple characters use the same model instead of each a separate model. If you're not expected to ever notice when playing the game as normal, then it's a good way to save system resources.

The picture of a the 'girl' in Rookie's drop pod is actually a man, and I forgot his name but he was very upset they put him in there as a joke

After the first level, Rookie murdered his teammates and replaced them with clones of himself. This is why he never talks, because he and his clones are able to communicate telepathically and easily understand each other. However, he sometimes hallucinates and instead sees his old teammates and hears their voices.

mickaleb campbell that's normal... the game starts, you're the rookie at night, you find and complete the first mission, then you get back to playing as the rookie, then you find the second mission by finding the yellow marker in the area where you have to go. the game goes rookie-mission-rookie-mission. it doesn't loop, the game is made that way

mickaleb campbell what your doing is the flash backs, The Rookie (you) is solving the mysterys that your team went though when Amber clad and the career jumped, your not doing anything wrong your just getting to see the flash backs of what happened to your team and yes you are allowed to play as them

I thought the ODST were supposed to land on the covenant cruiser and meet up with chief but that didn't work out so they land in new mombasa. By the way that plan was apparently set in halo 2.

Its not very underrated but it is outshined by the other games aside from the halo wars series

For anyone curious as to why they did a bunch of rookie clones, it's to help with the resource management. You can use multiple copies of the same model for significantly less memory usage than three unique models that you can't even really see to begin with.

Dude you should really try writing a script. I enjoy these kinds of videos but I couldn't get through this one because of all the rambling and how long it took you to portray the information. This could easily be made half as long with a concise script and some actual effort in editing. You have a lot of subs and a huge potential as a channel, but I don't think you'll ever reach that potential unless you put some more effort into the editing and writing process of your vids. As it stands these feel like they were made by someone who has never made a vid before.

Yeah, ain’t that the truth. I love this game and the secrets. But the whole air of mystery and whatnot is immediately ripped away because there’s no concise editing or scripting. Even the mannerisms of his speech are broken and unconfident. It would really help GeneralHeed to start making scripts and getting into editing these videos because all of them are like this, whether or not this is his intention. They all sound like they were made in 2010 by a kid who owns a basic editing software.

Yeahhhh... his videos actually kinda suck lol. He only has viewers due to their extremely low age range, and he’s kind the only one that takes the time for this shit. But he’s not a good speaker for one, and that combined with mumbling, overusing “transition words/phrases”, mispronunciations, and no script, it’s kind of extremely frustrating to watch.

The campaign with the most vibes on it. Gorgeus soundtrack and ambience. Loved the way they told the story, love firefight. Underrated game.

Mr. Mendelli while it doesnt have chief in it, its a major plot in the master chiefs story as to what happened to New mombasa before chief came back to earth, because to be quite honest, I had no idea that we were still in new mombasa when I played halo 3 because everything was destroyed and there was a giant hole in the ground... until I played halo 3 odst.

That _is_ a good point, but the marketing for the Master Chief Collection portrayed it as all of the games starring John 117. Halo 3: ODST does not directly involve him, which is why I find it out of place. The story of ODST focuses primarily on the Alpha-Nine squadron.

Rookie is probably reused to save on RAM. The Rookie's model was probably safely assumed to be in memory all of the time, and thus could be reused without additional memory cost.

no subtitle mistake, the mickey, dutch, and a few marines were picked up by an nmpd pelican and they loaded up, the marine flying it asks if they know a gunnery sergeant buck. at no point is mickey flying the pelican.

Rookie is a time traveler who has to invent multiple characters so the main timeline Rookie doesn't realise himself and create a time paradox.

Another thing, is if you pause the cutscene right at the moment the Rookie's pod is hit, you can see Mickey's pod is the one that hit him.

I remember thinking when I played Halo 2, that the cutscene was showing that entire city getting transposed into space. I was horrified. Then I made the realization that when we played ODST it showed the city in relatively safety.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how an un-augmented human is able to beat a brute to death at 6:29

I miss this game and Halo 3. Halo ODST had the best firefight mode by far and Halo 3 had the best forge mode. From this point on, it all went down hill in my opinion. Everything became too automatically. Halo Reach was okay, but the firefight was not rewarding, you had way too much control over it and it was not endless and the forge mode was too simplified.

the Amber clad in ODST is always my reminder of how big covey cruisers are.

I knew the rookie was the best because there's multiple of him

Mario Badia It's not copy and paste... It's supposed to be based on the Halo 3 engine. It's a campaign/story expansion to Halo 3. It's no different than GTA 4: Episodes From Liberty City. Both games in that pack are "copy and paste" from GTA 4, but that's obviously because they're expansions to GTA 4. I guess kids these days either forgot or weren't around back when it was common for games to have expansions and DLC for the single player based on the same engine. But I guess everyone is used to DLC being nothing but skin packs these days.

1 more thing we didn't know: when Rookie got knocked out when he dropped in new mombasa city, he didn't really get knocked out, he just wanted to go back to sleep.

The subtitle dialogue is actually the police pilot flying the pelican so yes it wasn’t a marine but it wasn’t any of the ODST squad either

One thing I remember from this game that’s not quite an Easter egg was a newspaper on the ground talking about a mandatory draft. Just really puts to show how humanity was getting their ass kicked at the time.

The marine in the subs is the pilot of the Police Pelican. Not an ODST. You can hear him in the next mission...

Your narration style reminds me of nervous Travis in Fallout 4. So many pauses, it's fucking adorable lmao. Might be an idea to rehearse/record separate audio clips so you're not pausing/correcting/stuttering so much though. It'd make your videos a whole lot more professional. Just a tip. regardless, keep up the good work man, I barely knew any of this.

the blood comes out of Romeo's chest on every difficulty, i do normal playthroughs on my 360 a lot and nothing changes, unless this is just a MCC ODST bug. Also the marine in the pelican talks to Buck, not Micky. you see this in the previous cutscene, the subtitles are correct.

Pretty sure that subtitle is Correct in fact. That dialogue was from when Buck and Dutch were in a pelican and going to the Police HQ and was not with the other 2 ODST and were trying to regroup. They weren't together at this time and the ODST were still split up into groups of 2. Expect Rookie was alone.

actually, in #6 it was a marine (well police officer but whatever) Dutch asks the cop if he can take them to the police HQ and the cop says Affirmative.

Did anyone else notice that when Heed said that there was a subtitle mistake, there actually wasn't? The Marine was piloting the pelican and said "Affirmative" in response to Dutch asking if he could take them there.

I think an updated Halo game like ODST with tons of detail would be really cool. I know ODST came out in 2009 and there were limitations, but imagine if this game came out today. The streets feel so empty and don’t have a ton of detail so it would be cool to have a Halo game with today’s graphics in an urban environment. Or at least have an urban Firefight environment in Halo Infinite that harkens back to ODST
