Maybe he sacrificed himself for some holy reason beyond our comprehension. He only allowed the laser to kill him.

the reason regret carries a pistol is due to several factors; first, he's rather young for his position, and thusly a fair bit paranoid in the novels. second, he's on the front lines far more than most san'shayuum, like in Halo Wars. Thirdly, and far more relevant, he worked with Sangheli faaaaarr more than most Prophets, and their martial views rubbed off on him... would have been interesting if he'd have gone along with Truths purge, or if he'd have sided with the Elites.

Wrong, he knew he was dead. He was the one to call off the phantoms as soon as he heard from remaining Honor Guard. He also was eliminating what he considered to be a bungler in the off hand chance Regret was alive; Remember, the main reason Regret was even made a Hierarch was due to Regret (And Mercy who was standing in the chamber) being with Truth when the scan data of the colony of Harvest was presented to the Oracle of the Forerunner Dreadnought, and it told them, essentially, that the Forerunners may not have all taken the Great Journey (this is before the whole "Mantle of Responsibility" was revealed), and this one revelation would have torn the while fragile yarn of the Covenant apart.... it DID tear it apart after the events of Halo 2 and 3. Essentially, Regret had dirt on Truth and Truth couldn't eliminate him or Mercy without too much attention being paid to exactly WHY the dreadnought tried to lift off. He was also useful, in that there must always be a triad of Hierarchs, and who better than the two others who would burn alongside you if that nasty little revelation was revealed to the Covenant at large?

That pistol must have pissed off so many people and made people spend hours upon hours of trying to get that pistol.

There is actually ONE instance in Halo 2 Anniversary where Elites dual wield! In Cairo Station right after you get weapons and you wait for the covenant to blow up the door, there is a "balcony" above the door you can jump onto and when all the covenant from the door below are dead, two elites will come through a smaller door on the "balcony" and they are dual wielding plasma pistols! This happens both in the original and the remaster

The whole situation of the mouth moving when the Elite is talking shouldn't be a glitch. Not sure why they made it act like the glitch. Maybe software limitations?

As someone who was crazy about Halo 2, I love H2A so much. However, the Elites not dual wielding has really affected my OCD for the past few years and it feels like I'm the only crazy person that cared! Nice to see someone point it out in a video!

GlitchMasta but I saw an elite dual wielding once on H2A... on legendary at Cairo, the first battle after you've stopped needing a weapon, elites and grunts blow the door open. There's an empty area above that with 2 locked doors parallel to each other. On the right one, 2 elites come out after enough enemies below were killed.. *One elite has 2 Plasma Pistols, Dual Weilding* :/ that's all I've seen tho..

Why would you include #8 and NOT push him off the edge?

general heed, Regret's plasma pistol is in the halo book: Halo Cole Protocol. He actually pulls it out at one point in another book too. (I am a fan of Halo lore, so I also read the books)

Here's one I found that you should check out. On the mission Sacred Icon, the arbiter can fight enemy marines. Usually they get killed by the flood before you get to them, but if you turn on Sputnik and feather, you can grenade jump across the gap to skip past the flood and save the marines, only for them to turn on you. I think they call you chief too.

I could be wrong, but I don't remember Johnson saying Chief to the arbiter, but I notice it a LOT in MCC.

Kidd, here’s something I just noticed in Halo 2 that you might wanna include in a future video like this one. On the level Uprising, if you have no allies left and you kill the two snipers before the chapter heading “fight club,” appears, peek around the corner with your beam rifle and watch the area ahead where you can see shotgun ammo boxes on the floor. You’ll see the brute with the shotgun you’ll fight later round the counter and start practicing with his new human weapon: He’ll shoot at the wall, walk up to it to check out the bullet holes, then repeat. I probably played this mission 50 times as a kid and only just noticed this.

the side effects of spartan-1 augmentation indeed has effect on sergeant Johnson.

For #9 I believe that Bungie wanted that to be the Elite's last words, but they scrapped the idea. However, they forgot take out the action to activate the animation and audio clip, so it was left in the game by accident.

Two things I wanted to add here- 1. On Halo 2 Classic, On Cario Station, the Elites boarding your ship in the hangar on Legendary actually had duel wielding plasma rifles. As well as a bit faster fire rate. I kinda disliked it, cause I loved to run Legendary Halo 2 over and over again. (A huuuge fan of Halo 2, my favorite game of all time. Childhood memories.) 2. On Quarantine Zone where you start of with a Spectre and Ghosts, when you arrive to the part where you have to abandon your vehicles (You don't have to abandon your ghost, it can fit through the small gap.), if you go up the hill to the right in Halo 2 classic and drive all the way to the end, you'll see a Pelican/Phantom (I don't remember which one, it was years since last time I played Classic Halo 2. ;n;) spazzing out and flipping out. I am pretty sure it even sais "Hold Use Button to flip Banshee." But yeah, those two things were the ones I wanted to add in! Great video though! Keep up the good work!!

I remember back when i played the original Halo 2, there was an Easteregg or glitch where in the mission that Johnson drives the Scarab, if you land a Banshee on the tippy-top of the Scarab and stay there until the Scarab stops moving, you can find "Older" Banshee models which are flyable on the stack platforms.

I know I'm pretty late on this vid, but the lore for regret: In the book "Contact Harvest" we get a scene showing the prophets before they were the hierarches. They had completely different jobs, but when there was an incident that showed them the truth about humanity, Regret had that pistol with him and even took it out and threatened Mercy with it. Truth had told him to put it away too, earlier in that scene but tensions rose and out came Regret's pistol. So yeah, I thought that glitch was neat. Thank you for the vid, I never knew of this before but it makes me happy, knowing they cared about that detail.

Actually, in halo lore, some warthogs are remote controlled or something along those lines. They don't need people to actually drive them.

The cut "We shall wipe them as excrement from our boots" dialogue is actually used during the beginning cut scene of Quarantine Zone, where Rtas is talking about the Flood

Speaking of Halo 2 multiplayer, have you ever been "outside" maps like containment, coagulation, headlong, Ivory tower, foundation, etc? I use to do those allll the time in Halo 2. So much fun exploring. Back in the day when there was supposedly "the golden warthog", "ghost of lockout", "the guardians", etc lol

The first mission in Halo 2 brings back so many great memories.

You can tell I played this game way too much as a kid because I knew most of these. A funny edition to the Miranda/Johnson venting into space is to push them off the platform. When they hit the death zone that would normally kill any character that falls into it Johnson or Miranda will just start twitching rapidly as they fall because they are constantly getting "hit" by the death zone that is trying to kill them but can't because they are invincible

If you steal a ghost on the scorpion part of the delta Halo mission, you can skip like 2-3 levels by driving over them via the mountains. When you first enter the vacuum of space off of cairo station, you can climb the outside and walk around the top of the staition, and look inside the windows (by crouching)

I would suggest you turn off the grunt Birthday Party skull if you're recording. Small particles like confetti mess with the video and make it pixelated! Good video, keep showing us things we never noticed!

I was flying the Banshee around on Metropolis earlier, and went by that beach-wall out in the water (it has a 45 degree angle) and came across this weird looking emblem on it. If you're unaware of it, you might want to check it out. I want to say it's nowhere else in the game, but I don't really know. It's really far out of the way, too, and from one angle, while approaching it, the wall like disappears.

Even the devs knew that Halo 1's pistol is OP AF. Somebody couldn't resist and snuck it in as best they could.

Number 9: the elite was dying exactly when You arrived and he managed to say his final words right before he died.

after the last battle between brutes and elites on High Charity, there is one more squad through the last set of doors at the end of the mission. Were all aware of the honor guard/councilor elite, but if you zoom in on his face he has the same sort of half mandible jaw as shipmaster.

At 12:30 when talking about the driverless warthogs, one of the pelicans flying over has no pilot. I believe this is due to the original disk space being saved by not rendering pilots, drivers, gunners, etc into the cutscene. Most players wouldn’t notice these facts when in the cutscene due to angles and playback speed.

The elite you grab the sword from is not the one talking about the brutes betrayal. There's a elite on the cliff above by the door you work your way to, and he is the one talking about the brutes betrayal but doesn't know the Arbiter is right below him until you cut down the brutes and arrive at the door.

I was just playing, and there was something strange I saw. If you play as Arbiter and use all you sword, than go invisible, you blade will appear while, than once your camo runs out, your blade won't be there.

Well u missed one fact that all of the friendly brutes will do a rampage against u if u killed one of them they will convert to rage mode and attack u without weapons but with their fists i knew about this cuz i did this before I see this amazing video. Things I already knew - friendly brute army -dead living brutes

On that same mission at the end, if you jump on the platform where Miranda and guilty spark are and melee/look at her long enough, she also calls you chief

Number 11: On legendary difficulty, grunts will rarely assassinate the player if he gets too close and turns his back to them. Apparently I'm one of about a dozen people this has happened to.

I remember playing the original halo 2 on xbox, and right after you do the armor test and leave with sgt Johnson, the armor guy says "Well you can forget about the adjustments to your" ...I forgot what he says...a2 suit or something. ..but in the original game, he then said, "and you sure as hell can forget about. ." That waa all. Johnson says he is in a good mood or something like that. But that 2nd line is not in the remastered version.

You missed 2, on the final misson, if you ride the scarab the entire way, you get a secret heretic banshee, and you can use that banshee to kill tartarus, before you entire the temple, damage the wings so you can fit through the door, it's a tight squeeze inside, but you can finess your way in there with some patience, then after the cut scene, just back track a little and you'll find the banshee again, use it to defeat tartarus quickly

Maybe Johnson just calls people chief as a nickname or something.

In the original Halo 2 I've seen elites duel wielding, but I guess it's just on this version.

In Halo 2 pc, if you tab out of the game in Cairo station, and wait a while before tabbing in, all of the com messages will be played at the same time, overlapping each other. Note: You must tab out when the game is running, not paused.

The probable reason why the brutes were weaponless is because they were incomplete, they were rushed, so they probably would carry BPR but because of time constraints the devs focused on other issues, hence why the brutes are more refined and balanced in Halo 3.

For number 6 I swear I can remember playing Halo 2 on the Xbox 360 because it had backward compatibility and see the elites dual-wielding.

Only decent halo channel that talks about relevant shit. Keep the good content up.

Getting the first Johnson (has to be that one) through the entire Cairo station is almost the only way to finish it on LASO😂

in Halo 2 the "living dead bodies" doesn't only work on brutes but also Marines when u melee them

Warthogs can be driverless on city roads because the superintendent controls vehicles electronically through the road so #3 is technically lore freindly

The reason Brutes flinch when you hit them while their down is because Halo 2 is actually a play just like Mario Bros 3. Totally real lore

Something as a sidenote to number 5; the two other Marines next to Johnson are Sgt. Banks from the New Mombasa Scarab level (the one who didn't give permission for that other guy to bitch) and Sgt. Stacker who is the ODST officer in the "A Day at the Beach" cutscene (the guy without a helmet).

Another thing nobody really knows about is if you turn on the mythic skull in Halo 2 anniversary and stick a red elite or honour guard with a plasma grenade, they will often drop their weapon but survive the explosion. Then they are weaponless and will follow you around.

The Brute Army was my favorite thing to do in the game when I was a kid. That's my favorite mission, and every time I got to that part I would always just mess around with the Brutes. You can actually make them go into berserk mode if you hit them. I don't remember if they turn hostile, but I know they will charge

hey general I don't know if you know this or not but on the great journey you can take the Shipmaster or Ultra elite through almost the entire level if you push him through it all you can bring him all the way to the Scarab. my brother and I used to do it all the time on the classic halo 2

You should have added the fact that the "swap for" image on the energy sword is not changed in Halo 2 Anniversary despite the fact that the sword is different when in your hands. The sword is more rounded originally and you can see that in the "swap for" image, however in anniversary graphics the sword is more ridgid and straight.

The level with the giant moving platform with the flood jumping down and coming through the bottom has dual wielding elites, at least on the MCC on Xbone, just played it a few days ago.

Did you ever consider that they were going for a situation where you as the Arbiter come across this elite, that he was saying those things with his dying breath. As his brother elites are approaching and he weren't completely dead, wouldn't they try to help or just talk to his brothers before he bit the dust? They just didn't have the ability to make him like move or look at you. But they were able to make his mouth move, and add his speech. Why not add it in, even if it weren't coded as well as we would have liked. Instead of adding a little cut scene where they found him they just threw it in as a little bit to the mission. That's what I think any way

Also a another thing when playing coop levels that connect such as delta halo and regret etc only on mcc if you do both levels you will keep your weapons but on the classic version the default weapons for the level will replace your current weapon set

Sometimes the brute that you pull out of the banshee can hit you with their berserk mele if you stand close. Only happens sometimes though.

The Elites not dual wielding in H2A really irks me lol. Especially at the end of Quarantine Zone until you get them swords.

the only two I had previously noticed was regret dropping the plasma pistol and the elites on MCC never having dual weld weapons, The reason behind the plasma pistol if any of you guys are wondering is in the Halo Book Contact Harvest Regret has a plasma pistol that he has due to his tore with many Sangheili Commanders which The Prophet of Truth notes as one of the tells that regret is more militarized and has had the Sangheili sense of honour and discipline rub of on him due to him carrying the plasma pistol at all times, he also tries to fry both Mendics Bias and the Prophet of Mercy before they all became the high prophets.

Something nice is that Regret in the books is known to carry a plasma pistol... so thats fun

The plasma pistol that Regret has is the same thing as the scarab gun. It's just a placeholder for his throne's cannon.
