lol.... I did pretty much the same thing when I introduced Pentatonix to my wife years ago, and she's a complete Pentatonix fan (we've been to 3 live concerts).
I must have listened to this song, and watched reviewers comment on it, hundreds of times, yet I still get goosebumps every time.

There’s no response to PTX more eloquent than yours: “Wow!” Thanks for sharing.
I LOVE how much you wanted her to love this. The look in your eyes as you were watching her reaction, was priceless.
It's so much fun to see someone who's never seen or heard Pentatonix before! I love your wife's reaction to Mitch! She was rocking gently to the music up to that point, but when Mitch started singing, she just stopped dead and listened until he was finished. It's one of the quietest "Mitch-slaps" I've ever seen, but it was definitely there! Can't wait to see her reaction to some more a cappella music, whether Pentatonix, Home Free, or VoicePlay!

The first time someone showed Pentatonix to me (it was a Daft Punk medley), my reaction was even quieter. I'm an introvert and I don't show emotion outwardly. But there is a literal storm brewing inside my mind. My friend was a little disappointed when he didn't see "Mitch slap" in me, but it was there from the first moment, it just didn't show outwardly. :)
The love on your face is the best thing I've seen all day. Never stop looking at your beautiful wife, just like that. A beautiful thing to witness. Wishing you a lifetime of love. Oh, and yes, PTX is the best! Truly magical. And Kevin, the beat boxer/percussionist wears leather gloves & jackets quite often, to make his sounds. He also sings like an angel.
My favorite part was you watching her reaction 💖🦋
Kevin, the beat boxer (percussionist), He does use his mouth for an amazing range of sounds. He also creates drum sounds with both his mouth and his body. Clapping, chest beating, foot stopping. He does sing and has a beautiful voice. He also plays the cello. He will sometimes play during a song.
Sounds of Silence by them is excellent!
I don't know which I enjoyed more. Her watching them or you watching her!! Made me laugh when she was motioning "restart the video"...think you ceased to exist for a few minutes there...lol! Loved the reactions!!!
This was really great. Did you know that they just recently got a star on the Hollywood walk of fame? Yeah, they are a bit famous. Loved the both of you.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard.
Your excitement is contiguous, what a treat watching this reaction.
It's never wrong to include your friend. Outstanding!
Your wife is just lovely. She was rendered speechless, as most are after hearing PTX sing. 😊

Pentatonix They won The Sing Off in 2011. They made a guest starring appearance on America′s Got Talent as non−competitors a couple of years after that. The founding members are:- Scott Hoying (tall blond guy, natural baritone but has an impressive five−to−six octave range, can go all the way up to high tenor and down to bass, sings the bass lines when the usual bass singer takes the lead); Kirstin "Kirstie" (Rhymes with "Thirsty") Maldonado (the only female member, natural mezzo soprano, but can go down to low alto and as high as upper soprano, also can sing in whistle notes that are off the scale); For a time in 2018 between the group’s tours, had the female lead on Broadway in the production of “Kinky Boots”. Mitch Grassi (a true contra−tenor, can hit high notes in his chest voice with ease and go WAY higher in his falsetto, also with ease); Avriel "Avi" Kaplan (dark beard and long hair), true basso profundo, trained as an opera singer, also can go up into the tenor range; and Kevin "KO" Olusola (beatboxer extraordinaire, also is a world−class cellist who plays cello on some of their songs, has a beautiful high tenor voice and gets occasional lead vocal solos as well, graduated pre−med from Yale and speaks several languages including Mandarin Chinese). Kirstie, Scott & Mitch grew up together in Arlington, Texas, and began performing together as children in local youth musical theater. They ended up in high school together and performed in the choir. While there, they formed an a cappella group called The Trio which had several performance videos go viral on KZread, most notably a cover of Lady Gaga′s "Telephone". The three of them are best friends and consider themselves to be almost siblings. Scott & Kirstie (who were a class year ahead of Mitch) both graduated high school in 2010 and went their separate ways to different colleges, Scott at USC and Kirstie at Oklahoma. While at USC, Scott joined a USC−based a cappella group called the SoCal VoCals, where he met alumnus Ben Bram, who was now an arranger and vocal coach for the NBC TV show The Sing Off, an a cappella competition show. Ben convinced Scott to get The Trio to audition for the show. The three reunited (Mitch had to skip high school graduation ceremonies to go) in Los Angeles for the audition. They found out that the rules had changed, so they needed at least five members to audition. Ben put them together with Avi (a native of Visalia, California), who he knew from Avi′s performing days at Mount San Antonio College in California. They found Kevin (from Kentucky) through one of his KZread videos that had gone viral featuring him playing the cello and beatboxing at the same time, a talent that Kevin coined as "Cello−Boxing". Kevin arrived in Los Angeles literally the day before the audition! Scott came up with the name "Pentatonix" after the pentatonic scale. They performed a re−arrangement of "The Telephone" for the audition and passed, despite having been together as a five−piece group for less that 24 hours! They won The Sing Off that season (all of the performances are available on KZread), in which they received a substantial cash prize AND a record contract with Epic Records. They pooled their prize winnings together and all moved to Los Angeles, and all got apartments right next door to each other in the same building. But just a week later, Epic dropped them because the marketing people didn′t think an a cappella group could sell records. Instead of giving up, they were determined and began recording their own songs on KZread, hiring Ben Bram as their producer and arranger. These usually consisted of the five of them sitting on a couch and performing cover songs live. Several of the videos went viral, and Sony (the parent company of Epic) decided to give them another chance by placing them on one of their smaller labels, Madison Gate. They released two secular EPs and one Christmas EP on Madison Gate, all of which were strong sellers. But when their cove r of a medley of songs by Daft Punk not only went super−viral, but also won them their first Grammy, they were promoted all the way up to RCA Records, Sony′s top label. They began writing and producing their own songs in addition to their covers, began putting out a Christmas album just about annually (which has become their best−selling genre), and have had multi−platinum album sales, sold−out world tours, and have won two additional Grammys. Avi began getting burned out with all of the touring and heavy recording schedule, was suffering from anxiety and personal problems, and learned that his mother had been diagnosed with cancer in 2017. He announced he was departing from the group and taking some time away from the music industry. Matt Sallee (from Baltimore) joined them in September 2017. He did only become official when they renewed their RCA contract in February 2018, but he recorded with them in September as a featured artist and went on their Christmas tour as a featured artist, as well. When he attended the audition for the group, he had already mastered the Bass part for most if not all their past catalogue. He was successful and has proved that he fits in well with the group. If you think there have been other changes to the line up - look again. This is the ONLY change. Kirstie and Mitch are like chameleons and change looks frequently. After a year away from music, Avi has now returned as a phenomenal solo artist in the Folk/Americana/Roots genre. Ben Bram has been in charge of their production, including arranging and directing from the beginning. He is often referred to as the sixth member. Scott and Kevin are major players in the arrangements, but every member contributes. good watch is "The Recording of Evergreen" where a camera was invited into the studio for the second week of recording/ Also, all members are songwriters for both Pentatonix and their own solo work. Ed Boyer who mixes everything of theirs (even the HWB Livestream) is the one who pulled Ben Bram into the sing off in the first place. They were nominated for a 4th Grammy for their album Evergreen, but didn't win. Kirstie became a new mum which caused a pause in touring after their Evergreen Christmas tour 2021. Mid March 2023 Kirstie has announced that she is engaged to Ben Hausdorff, their videographer. No dates YET! They have a star on the Hollywood walk of fame installed in February 2023. They are the only a capella group with a star! Things you need to know because if you get these wrong Pentaholics will come after you with pitch forks and torches! Ha Ha!! 1- There is NO Auto-Tune; what you hear is actually what they sing. They really are that good. One exception is the 90's Dance Medley where Cher used autotune as an effect - so they had to. 2- What produces everything that you hear in the video, you see in the official video. If there is an instrument used in the music, you see it on screen. In the 2022 Christmas album, there are some instruments not featured throughout the album. 3- They never release something on video they can’t reproduce with the exact same quality live on-stage.

@@TheMusicJunkieChannel We raised 3 girls and lived in a rural area so they were constantly finding stray cats and we'd find them homes. One day a friend stopped by and asked, What's this new one's name? My husband didn't miss a beat and replied, Freida...Freida Good Home. 🤣 Today I've only one cat.... I'm waiting for at least one to adopt us soon. They always find us somehow.
Your wife is lovely! And she has excellent taste in music! Actually, Kevin Olusola ( the beatboxer) does stamp as well as use his body and mouth for percussion. He uses a stomp pad these days because he was finding the stamping a bit hard on his knees. There is a 20 minute video called The Recording of Evergreen which shows quite a bit of how the group works together to create and record their songs. Evergreen is the 2020 Christmas album, so It's not just one song the focus on. One of the bits shows how Kevin and the group create backing noise and percussion. It's really quite interesting. Since you're both interested in Pentatonix, I hope you explore more of their music. Looking forward to it.

No... Kevin used a stomp pad back then, to amplify the sound. It worked like a microphone. Now, they use a recorded track for body percussion instead of doing it live mostly because of his knee but also so he can move around the stage more freely.
Her face is the exact same as mine when I first heard Pentatonix. She was appropriately stunned, ha ha. Thumbs up!
I loved watching you watch your wife as she listened. That’s exactly why I watch so many people doing PTX reviews. That look of awe! ❤
Adding you beautiful young wife Definitely adds to your channel. Her simplicity and curiosity is adorable.
I love how he looks at her with such love
The trio, Kristen, Scott, and Mitch basically grew up together in Texas. They wanted to compete in The Sing Off and they needed 5 so they found Avi (bass) and Kevin (beatboxer) and won the show around 2012. Avi has left the group (sad) but his replacement is pretty awesome.
I really like this group and this is my second favorite rendition. Lucy of course is number 1!!!

Saw them live when they came to Perth earlier this year.. It was just as good live.. they were brilliant
Pentatonix call themselves a band. The trio (Scott, Mitch, and Kirstin) grew up together in Arlington, Texas. Avi grew up in California, I believe, and Kevin is from Owensboro, Kentucky. You'll have to introduce her to Matt sooner or later, so you may as well know that he's from Baltimore, Maryland. As for fame, Pentatonix has won three Grammys and in February, 2023 they received a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They're the only a cappella band to ever win even one Grammy, and the only a cappella band to have a star on the Walk of Fame.
Such a delightful reaction ❤️
I watch people react to this Pentatonix song 3 or 4 times a week! Your video, hands down, is one of my favorites! But it's not even because of the song. Welcome to the long winding road of Pentatonix, you are in for the journey of your life 😊 Pentatonix never ceases to amaze me, at just how incredibly talented they are, and take their voices to newer levels, we have never heard before.....there is something so special about their ability, to tell the songs story, allowing us to listen with a new perspective, and hear & feel emotions, we may not have heard from the original artist 💖💖💖 Not only their voices, but their delivery is also their gift!

You have verry beautiful wife 🤗 Greetings from Poland
Not sure what nationality your wife is, but they have a Perfume medley where they sing in Japanese. And did a collaboration with Little Glee Monsters on Midnight in Tokyo. I think I have that right. They also did a collaboration with Ateez (Korean group) on a song called “A Little Space”. I always mention for people who are British that PTX was on the British show Sunday Brunch back in like 2016. They sing live 3 songs. You have 12 fun pack years of PTX music that you can explore. Thanks for the reaction.
Pentatonix has original music as well as covers. Kevin the beatboxer is a graduated from Yale and speaks several languages including manderin, they did an original song Midnight In Tokyo featuring Little Glee Monsters which part of it they sing in manderin, your wife might enjoy that one

Little Glee Monster is a Japanese group. They are singing part of "Midnight In Tokyo" in Japanese, not Mandarin.
Kevin is definitely also beatboxing as well as stomping and using body percussion. The video doesn't do a good job of showing the beatboxing, but you'll see it in any of the live performances.
If you like five-part acapella vocal harmony, chech out 'Home Free', they mostly do country, but there is a lot of variety, from old school, like Johnny Cash to new songs they have written themselves..
I'd subscribe again if I could. I love the way you look at your wife and love your animals. That says along.
Pentatonix has won 3 Grammy Awards. Kirstin, Scott, and Mitch grew up together in Texas. The group now lives in Los Angeles. My recommendation is to do another reaction to the same song, but the live version. You will notice that Kevin (beatboxer - percussionist) does indeed use his jacket and stomps his feet to create the beat.
Great reaction. I love the dog as well
She seems so sweet
Watch the live version of this song, 2016 version.
I love when you pause the video midstream and your wife is looking at you like "WHY????"
I know the headphones are like standard so you hear all the details of what is going on, but if you have a 5.1 surround sound system it will make it a concert level listen and it will have another level of the base singing, and better high notes. but that is my own opinion. Also you will want to review Mad World, Imagine, Daft Punk Medley(first Grammy of 3 they have earned), Originals(I like the one called Water), and some of the live stuff. Most Pentaholix(the hard core fans) will tell you PTX does not do covers, they do UPGRADES!
