However, it was hell hot when filmed and keeping their makeup from melting was a serious issue. BTW, your comments are the best parts of your reactions. It's why I keep coming back. I'm laughing because you are the FIRST reactors I've seen that, instead of being totally blown away by Mitch's voice, start focusing on Avi's bass accompaniment to it. Yes, you gave Mitch his props first, but then you went back to listen to Avi. Which he fully deserves, always, but EVERY OTHER REACTOR, bar none, is avidly watched by the Pentaholics for what we call "Mitch face." That stunned jaw drop during his solo. Well, going back to check, yes, you also gave us a lovely Mitchslap face, and I thank you for it. I love watching you guys react. You're both fully engaged and informative.

I swear I love Mitch. His voice is a miracle. What he does with it is amazing. Everything about him is amazing. But what Avi does in the background while everyone is getting Mitch-slapped in that section is possibly my favourite bit of music in all of PTX music that I've listened to so far. I don't know why. I just know that I'm grateful to hear I'm not alone in the appreciation.

The vocal progression that Avi does in the background that I'm obsessed with are three notes (says the person who knows jack squat about music) starting after the line Mitch sings "is how to shoot at someone who outdrew ya" Also, the Aha- Singapore being recommended is one of the performances where Avi's low notes blew out a speaker. Just... fair warning about the quality of the sound there.

That’s not even close to the top of Mitch’s range - you should hear him singing in his whistle notes, or imitating the sound of a sharpie! XD I would also highly recommend the live Aha Singapore video, to fully appreciate both Avi and Mitch. Also, like someone else pointed out, thank you for noticing Avi’s section during Mitch’s solo. Mitch is absolutely mind blowing, but Avi’s countering notes just make it sound even more amazing. Mitch and Avi together is always fantastic. Imagine, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Love Again, Can’t Hold Us are must-reacts. Also Avi’s “Change on the Rise” and Kevin’s cover of “Down” would be awesome. I love how you guys break down everything, and notice the tiniest details. I’d love to hear your thoughts (ok, see you blow your minds more) by listening to those! Fab work, guys

I love when new reactors say "Did you hear how high Kirstie went in that section?" when a lot of the time it's Kirstie and Mitch both in the stratosphere together. Once you've listened to them for awhile, it's easy to tell each member's voice from the others. Mitch and Kirstie blend so well together but you can still hear which is which pretty clearly. In that last powerful chorus, it was both Kirstie and Mitch singing those angelic high notes.

after I got Mitch-slapped after hearing this for the first time, I probably watched maybe over a hundred reactions for this performance just so I could listen to it again and get other people's perspective. since then, I've come to understand how poetic the song is and appreciated how PTX did a marvelous arrangement to express the emotion of each verse to their audience. I wonder if there's a music sheet for this arrangement because it's really really wonderful to behold.

I have heard other reactors comment on how effortlessly Mitch pulls off those high notes while still in chest/head voice, where most guys would have to reach into falsetto to get that high. You have yet to experience the full Mitch-slap. Try "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" or "90's Dance Medley," or any of the others recommended here. I would save" Aha! live in Singapore at the Star Vista" for later, when you are a full-fledged Pentaholic and can overlook the inferior audio-visual quality of the fan cam for the sheer bliss of hearing Avi destroy the sound system while Mitch goes full-throat on multiple Red Bulls.

Mitch is a counter tenor. His voice is once a generation. Avi goes down to E2 and he can do octive jumps without losing pitch. They're going to be at the Hollywood Bowl this summer. Almost sold out. Tickets range from $74 to just under $1500. Most are in the $300-$400 range.

For the record, there is nothing wrong with being a Baritone. You fill the middle. Scott is a baritone. He has the widest of ranges and is amazing. Baritones have the opportunity to expand their top and bottom notes and are basically just the most flexible male members in singing groups.

Came for the Pentatonix reacts, now I'm definitely interested to find out what you two will think of their Mad World cover (it's way down the chronological line, though, so if you don't get there for a while, I totally get it)! It's fun to find new (to me) channels on here discovering PTX. Thanks!

Avi is classically trained and already had an invitation to the L.A. opera house as their bass when Scott found out about him. He has a 5 octave range but is also a polyphonic/overtone singer which means he can sing two notes at once and has very nice whistle notes while singing overtones. Here is an example of his overtone singing. Not for reaction, but to let you know his phenomenal vocal abilities added to his already 3 octave range. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f6F9rKVvZbm9ic4.html

And there it is---the fantabulous MITCH slap/face. Avi is considered a natural basso profundo, Kevin is a tenor, Scott takes over bass when Avi sings lead, Kirstie is an angelic voice (Check out her "My Eyes"). Love your breakdowns.

Thank you guys for making me smile the whole way through, not only are you both entertaining, but your chemistry as friends/mates together is what will make this channel work! You both know what you are talking about, not that that is the main reason I like you both ....you are having fun and NOT making this a 'job'...it really looks like it's something you both love to do....and that is what will make you successful and it will flourish into a full time 'job'...without it seeming so...and that's when it becomes something you love...when it's you fun passion that amazingly becomes sustainable to make a living off it by chance!...Keep up the amazing channel..subbed of course! Love from Canada/UK

I have watched at least 20 different people, who are very good at pointing out even minute nuances in this video. But I haven't seen one person, yet, who either doesn't notice, or doesn't feel it is important, that when Avi is singing his solo, the bass is still being sung. If anyone cares, Scott takes over the bass when Avi is singing his lead. Scott's vocal range is crazy!!!

I'm so glad you mentioned Avi's bass line while Mitch is singing lead. It's so good but often gets overlooked. The same thing happens in their version of Imagine. His bass line at the climax is crazy. I think he does jump an octave, or very nearly in that one too.
