Sad to think that after all theese years, we dont even have a trailer of Episode 3 or HL3, nothing but silence and a company that is more focused on creating paid sprays then wrapping up this story. Meanwhile the old Valve members are leaving one after another... At this point, I would be happy to just know how the story would end, who Gman is and such. Even if Valve havnt gotten around to writing a proper HL3 story, they must surely know how Ep3 would have ended back in the days.

I really enjoy how the mappers incorporated the concept art into the maps. Respectable attempt.

It really is a sad thing to think that one of the most revolutionary, loved and best FPS franchises of all time wont likely ever get the proper ending it would have deserved.....just utter, utter shame. I honestly wouldnt have minded one bit, if they had just done one last short episode and ended the story there, even that would have been so much better than years waiting for nothing.

I think they are saving hl 3 for their ultimate trump card. They need a something advanced, revolutionary to come along with hl3. Currently they dont so there wont be hl3 for now.

I remember this one (long time ago...) , ah, at least they tried something interesting... I regret they didn't manage to get some voice acting etc... Even if it is really the Episode 3 "the most accurate based on what we know" (taking off directly after Ep 2, the Borealis, Arctic, Aperture, Portal tech in the borealis as the "secret"...), it is very short, and having Alyx and Barney with no interaction at all with the player, made it a bit of a disappointment :/ Still, I liked it because it tried to give us what we're waiting for since... 10 hellish years...

Sadly, this is a mod. But hey! Atleast we got something!

This is ancient, but nice that you played it finally. :) I think the mod shows that a HL3 or EP3 built with Source Vanilla assets is an unsatisfying experience, I'd love for someone to create an EP3 mod using Dota 2 engine or even Portal 2 engine. I do love though how the mod creator tried to recreate the vista from the EP3 concept art of the Borealis in the cavern, lodged in ice. The plotline was just too simple and nothing new however, just blowing up the ship, escaping and finish. When an actual plot for such a premise should of been battling the Advisors, using the Borealis to go to Xen, seeing the Combine Overworld, just... all those talented modders out there, if you can see this, consider these ideas when making fan installments, eh? ;)

all that i know about the borealis, is that it wasn't a advisor that stuck it, but it was actually a experiment gone wrong that teleported the borealis. edit: and the advisors didin't even exist when the borealis got stuck (i think)

This is like one of my dreams everything is happening with no explanation.

this is the closest to epistle 3 as we can get,however alyx was supposed to be taken by gman while destroying hte borealis and then gordon is pulled out by vortigaunts

I like this idea better than the 5 hour one, but a video recap in the beginning would be very nice.

Played it when it was released and liked it. I do however always wonder why this mod didn't get any very negative reviews about the fact that they used the HL2 ep3 as a title. Not that i mind, not at all. But, with that other HL2 Ep3 mod the Closure it did get. Not sure what the difference is between this and that mod, qua title and people being very upset by it. Leon

Because it looked like really more "canon" than what you did with your mod's (which had many qualities but canonicity wasn't really among them :/ ), can't say I was really surprised IMHO since Coastline, Strider Mountain already evolved in their own continuities...

Me too, I fund 300$ to buy some TF2 hats but suddenly, somehow I change my mind to buy a new game instead I decide to buy Half-Life 2 because it's cheap. I start playing it, then I feel addicted to it, and when steam sale arrived I brought Half-Life 2 Episode 1 and 2 immediatly, after I finished playing Ep 1 and 2. I buy Half-Life 1, Half-Iife: Opposing Force and Half-Life: Blue Shift. Half-Life become part of me now, Half-Life is my favorite game series now. I love Half-Life, now I understand why we need Half-Life 3, why gaben? Why have you abandoned your masterpiece?
