Honestly, these connections (and the many more) make the whole world feel so lively and real in HL1 and the expansions, which is honestly why I prefer them to HL2 and the episodes. They're what make the series so good imo.

Same here. I think HL2's mistake was in bringing Gordon back for its "Episodes" instead of using new characters for new POV's.

@@Raycloud I think reusing old characters as protagonists, especially other Black Mesa survivors, would really expand the world and make it feel more lively. I really wish they didn't cancel Return to Ravenholm.

This is quite possibly the most accurate synchronization of certain events that happen in Half-Life and its expansions. If we add community made mods to this like Azure Sheep, Xen Warrior or Zombie Edition, adds a new spin to this.

Those helicopters were the attack choppers you fight in the game. The Osprey's would have come after them.

HECU used Ospreys V22 to transport people yeah, but they also had Apache helicopters designed to fighting and as escort, u fight those at the Dam and Canyon. Those are the ones in the Decay

They are Apaches, they're attack choppers. HECU also fields them along with Ospreys.

With all the events laid out, it's safe to say that this is the correct order of the four games when finishing their respective storylines Decay > Blue Shift > Half-Life > Opposing Force

You are awesome friend, I really was expecting some video like this from Half Life, there was a giant video of these events, but not this specifically well done, brutal...

The parts in blue shift that references half life and opposing force drives me up the wall. Shepherds osprey was taken down by the manta rays. The manta rays only started to show up on the second day when it's a full on invasion after Gordon launched the lambda rocket. As for the half life reference, you never see night time in blue shift. So that would mean Barney goes underground with Rosenberg before Gordon makes it to the surface in we got hostiles, where it's at dusk, sunsetting. After that, quite allot of time passes in half life before Gordon is captured. Way longer then it takes for Barney to escape

Absolutely amazing man. This must have taken ages to put together, very well done. These connections are so great too - instantly gives the world an extra kick.

Of all the videos connecting the events, I think this one is the one I like the most. I love the little touch of the radio transmissions between games. I feel that trying to connect the start of Opposing force with any game will always be a stretch, I mean it could have been any helicopter in all games. About the Barney teleport scene in Decay, it seems to suffers from a similar problem since we don't know wich of all the times he teleport it would be. Many people think it was at the end of Blue Shift and honestly I think it fits the most there since the teleporter goes crazy

they are caught in a harmonic reflux which is the thing where you see green and start teleporting around, we see this happen as gorden right after we insert the crystal in the beam and everything goes wrong(around 3:44 ), as barney when you teleport to the ending but teleport around and see gordon before ending up back at the scientists and ending the game ( 9:10) and as gordon at the start of half life 2 after kleiner's teleporter fails (you get sent to breens office twice and into water with an ichtiosaur, etc) so they are teleported to that island on xen where barney is (I assume the island is visible in "canon" just not in game due to some engine limitation or just for optimisation)

In the french version, Rosenberg is called Rosenbourg, its one of the biggest mistery about all the half life lol (by the way half life opposing force, half life blue shift and hl2 have bad voice acting in the french version), Secondo, the decay ending is really weird, that did they accomplished? What did it changed ? Cause it did nothing....

I don't understand people that play games with different voice acting than the original. If you don't understand the language there is always subtitles. For me a game would be completely ruined if it was in my own language. I can't stand movies and games that are dubbed.

secondo answer, I never played decay but dont they activate some thing that links with the rocket gordon launches to stop the resonance cascade, after which the nihilanth holds the tear in spacetime open until gordon kills it. that same satellite array which that rocket is a part of later gets used by the resistance at the white forest base using their own rocket to communicate with it in episode 2 to prevent the combine from opening a superportal cutting off the connection between earth and the combine homeworld

Failed at sync 😁 0:58 from Barney’s view Gordon is standing in the back of the tram, but while watching from Gordon’s perspective, Gordon is standing in the front of the tram 🤷🏼‍♂️ Anyway, good video 👍🏼

I don't even know why Gearbox made Gordon to walk away from the tram's front side and door. Then again, he stops in the middle, and after his tram starts moving he's pushed further to the back. Maybe it has something to do with GoldSrc jank.

Half-Life: Decay. That's a co-op game that was available only for ps2 and unfortunately wasn't available for PC at the time, but you can download the PC version of it but then again it's a pain in the ass because you have to switch like at all times

From my point of view, i understand that the grunts are bad soldiers but in fact, they're good. They all know the main reason of why this happened at the first place, hence killing all the responsable scientists and guards who were present during the incident and experiment.
