Dermatologists who do not treat hair loss often especially those in institutions where cosmetic ailments are ignored will usually not give due importance to hair loss. You should consult a local hair loss doctor. It is tricky at this age to be on medications for hair loss- medications that work.

Hi doctor, I have been in finasteride for a year now and taking 1mg alternate days and giving break every 3 months.. Now I've become a little hesitant as I'm experiencing the basic side effects. Hi sir i had very good volume of hair and past 2 years im having hair loss. Also i have seborric dermatitis so im confused that im balding or is it because of the dermatitis.. @@kennethtalbert1198 Everyone starts backwards. The mechanical of physical changes from DHT such as fibrosis and calcification need to be removed first. Then the topicals work much better and are properly absorbed. And the pills make the scalp work its best.

Topical Finasteride has very little effectivity. The AIIMS doctor is not a hair loss doctor it seems. But he is doing you no harm!

No it is not. Likely your dose is insufficient or you are on topical Finasteride instead of the oral form.
