I had two hair transplants. Happy. Don’t think I would ever be able to wear this. No shade. No judgment.

Hey man, First and foremost props to you for following through on documenting your experience. I’ve been a ghost follower from the beginning. Also, haters are going to hate, but thats life (from some of the rediculous comments I’ve read throughout the months). In August I made the decision to have a hair system installed. After my initial consult my system was cut in mid-September. I think you’ve done a great job letting others know how much fluidity exisits with each person/body chemistry, base, glue, climate, and so on. After lots of reseach I decided to go with a full poly base with v-loop injections. My stylist and I also agreed to keep a patch of my orginal hair in front of my system, partly to hide any front line and truly because my problem area was my crown. As I shared, I went with the full poly (thin skin) and NXGen Effects bonding. Since I was new to the system experience and because I was leaving for Hawaii (3 weeks later), coming from Denver, I would come back in for a cleaning/and rebonding 2.5 weeks after my initial cut in (also considering the climate differences). The second round we used 2 layers on the system and 4 on my scalp, again with the NXGen. I strongly agree I was obsessed with my hairline and was constantly checking myself in the mirror. However, I never felt 100% for a couple of reasons. I felt my stylist (although great) went a little too dark by matching to my facial hair, rather than my actual hair; However, as the color naturally faded I felt more and more comfortable with it on that front. While in Hawaii the system held up great, considering all the hiking, swiming, paddle boarding, etc. For transparency, I was extra mindful and wore a hate, but after wearing it the system for another 2 weeks, NXGen stood the test for all things except my front hairline. It took some serious elbow grease to remove the 2 layers on the system. We decided to use the same system one last time for another 3 weeks with NXGen once more. NXGen to me, was totally acceptable, but I kept having my front lift after the littles bit of moisture throughout and it feeling gummy at times. The back never lifted or caused any fuss. My next service was very much the same, but with a new system and a perfect match on color. Last week I went in for service, this time making a point to use Ghost Bond Platinum, one layer on the system and 4 on my scalp (with a little extra on the system hairline). After almost a week of using Ghost Bond Platinum, impressed would be an understatement. I am curious to know from your experience how often your finding yourself replacing the actual system or if you beleive your weekly routine is stressing the system more than if you did a complete bond rather than tape? Also, have you found it difficult to find someone to cut your hair without damaging the system? As you’ve stated, its not that difficult to do it yourself, with practice and lots of patients, but are you cutting your hair using the template as your guide? Thanks again for sharing your experiences.

Awesome, you hit the nail on the head. I'm on my 7th day right now and you described everything I just went through to a T. Luckily I have the tape in the front with the non exposed hairline so not much maintenance to do there except I'm finding the glue from the tape in the front comes through the lace a little and causes the front hairs to stick horizontally or have been caught underneath the tape so I've been picking at them to get them up and about instead of lying flat along the hairline. You're so right though how it feels very tight on the first day and then wears away. I got a little nervous about that because I felt like if I couldn't feel the tightness that meant it wasn't tightly secured but thats not true at all as the thing isn't moving.

Hey Curtis, thanks for documenting your experiences and enlightening us on such a confusing topic. I have watched all you videos but still tons of questions. One thing holding be back is..if we use the hair system and glue for rest of our lives wouldn't it cause some fungal infection in the scalp in long term?

  • @HairExperience

Hey, ive thought the same thing. The glues (most of them) have antibacterial properties integrated in them. With that said we can only take their word for it and hope for the best!

I know you are all about a tape perimeter bond but how about a test and review of a full glue bond? Maybe with ghost bond or the clear. It would be nice to hear your opinions on the two different attachment styles.

hi. Just wondering if theres anything for toplace in Australia. And also, when u say in videos to have the system “cut in” at a salon what does that mean, is that just cutting the hair or the lace as well. Hoping you could do video on “all thing other people do” about all the stuff you have to get done by professionals from day zero. Thanks for the amazing vids.

You mentioned a tape to hairline, which is the best method? to tape the hairline or glue it? And is the taped Airline noticeable where the glue hairline is not? Will the longevity of keeping it on your head, cleaning, or having to replace the price be better if it was taped versus the glued?

  • @HairExperience

Hey, taping is easier to maintain and clean. But, taping the hairline is NOT going to work for an exposed hairline.

Hi Curtis thank you for your videos, very very useful! I have two questions 1) I use a helmet (motorcicle type) about 2 hours a day (going and coming from Work) do you have any experience on helmets + hair system? 2) Can I cut the front line to make it look like in V instead of a straight Line? Thank in Advance From Argentina

My advice to young guys is to go and do it while you have thinning hair, and if you took a good care of your hair with Toppik etc, no one will notice that you have upgraded it to a system. Don't wait until you are bald! The Poly is nice but the hairline is not perfect (like yours), maybe only in the first week, but if you'll not do a touch-ups for 2 weeks, it will look bad. Curtis, keep up with the good job!

I’m a diffused thinner, and my hair line is intact but top is thinning. I’ve been prescribed propecia and i’m just scared to have it. Should i shave and get a system later if things become visible? How much confidence do you hold with this?

Shubham Sachdeva I’ve tried almost everything to save my hair. Topical, meds, non FDA approved methods (RU). However, in my experience the struggle is never ending. I may get six months of great hair then all of a sudden, my hair looks like shit or it begins to thin out and I have to start over. IMO, a hair system is a game changer. Once you get used to it there is no worrying about your hair in public. It feels good not to wonder what your Hair is doing or are people looking at my bald spot. You just style and go, and of course the weekly touch up and wash/reapply every two weeks or so. It is the best decision I’ve made. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner!

Hey... You mentioned something about the glue and sensitive skin. I have extreme sensitive skin, I have a rash currently that just doesn't go away and nobody can figure out why. It is on my head too. You've almost sudden allowed some alarm bells to go off and I'm now concerned. What do you think I should do?

Bro so ok so.. you said if your a couple inches away, granted that’s pretty close, ( but thinking about how girls could be that close) is it really noticeable? It’s noticeable by sight at a few inches? Just in a way checking the realistic ness of things.. plus I know you were about to answer my question on feel.. on the live stream but I got interrupted and missed it.. maybe you do a video on realistic like when it could be spotted.. the hairline the parts and the feel? The detectability
