#directdye #hair #haircolor #haireducation #pravana #vivids
Hi there
I was so excited to share this after filming the process clips that I edited it on Saturday night...yes, I am that person, ha.
Really enjoying this series - of course I love doing hair on humans but being able to share theory like this with you is up there to.
As always, please feel free to let me know if you found the video helpful, I reply to all your comments.

That's it for this week, if you're subscribed, make sure you have hit the BELL! Next week we'll be getting into "metalic salts" in "box dye" and trust me, you won't want to miss it...
Till the next one,
CX.

Thank you so much for this video, I never considered making and keeping swatches in such a way!

I just learned about this! Absolute necessity for pastel shades along with pre toning. I'm starting my 1st year in hairdressing this year and all of this information is going to have me ahead of the game! 🌈

I’m so glad I could help…go YOU with starting your training, that’s GREAT! A word on pastels and pre-toning - I would always advocate lifting as light as possible, for pastels you ideally need a level 10, (pastels aren’t for everyone) then I would rarely ever pre-tone as it interferes with the final pastel result. Enjoy the start of your training!

@@theworldofcraig Thank you Craig you have been a big inspiration! I have just seen on someone's ig who works with pulp riot that they always Lift to a clean level 10, pretone with a rose gold (for example) first, then use a direct dye and pigment/gloss with warm water to achieve the most even saturation? Maybe you could do a video on this or provide a link if you have one already as I know it's quite advanced! You're the best! 🙂

@aquarianage22 Happy I can help. Level 10 is the goal for pastels always - when it comes to preference for applications we all have our own…that’s the great thing about hair! I have many videos that focus on direct dyes - perhaps check out my tutorial + hair colour theory playlists.

Have you shampooed the swatches to find out how many washes before the dye is gone?

I’m not sure why I would need to do that, the video is about how to get the best results How long any hair colour (not just direct dye) lasts is down to many, many factors. Thanks for watching.

3-4 applications could mean 3-4 tubes of color, yyyyikes🙄

Hi Jay, thanks for watching. The “3 to 4” isn’t separate applications, it’s how many times I work the product in to get full saturation…in the one application.

@@theworldofcraig ahhhhh ok THAT makes better sense, sorry for the confusion! Also, I edited my mistake, it was supposed to be "tubes", but I'm sure you knew that🤦‍♀️
