You got to leave it to Hagstrom. To even make a guitar that’s perfect for the texture and tone needed for heavy metal riffs; they were even able to make that thing reverberate so gorgeously well and to also have their own articulate texture to their own tone like they always have with stuff like the Swede Tremor and Viking models. I honestly can’t help but come off as an obviously biased consumer to their products. Excellent articulate gorgeous tone and texture overall. They really do know their engineering well.

I have a 1965 Hagstrom I and the 2019 Reissue of the Hagstrom III. I’m a big fan.
I usually don't like that guitar shape, but with that pickguard it gets a whole new personality. Really nice.
You should do a cover of cirice with that guitar

That rendition of the keyboard/keytar solo was amazing! Any chance of a lesson for that? Also, glad you guys chose Mummy Dust.

Ghost is by far my favorite band
That was a killer, tasty solo from Ben. And some good riffs from you Fluff. You two need to collaborate more.
Haven't seen a hagstrom in years. And holy guacamole, Uncle Ben and Fluff together what a great way to start off this beautiful Thursday.
That Mummy Dust cover is perfect
Ben is rapidly becoming my favorite guitarist. Him playing over Fluff's rock solid solid rhythm is a total win. I recently heard Ben playing old Van Halen riffs for the new Top Jimi Kemper profiles and that was when I knew he was an elite level player. If you haven't heard it, go to his KZread page and listen. Close your eyes and you think you're hearing old Van Halen records. And Fluff is a staple guitarist on the Tube. Sweet.

you're too kind, sir!!!! When there's players out there like Brandon Ellis, Wes Hauch, Jimmy Herring, Sims Cashion, Andy Wood, and Emil Werstler, i'm not sure that what i do is up to snuff, but i'll take the praise all the same!

Dude, you are selling yourself short. Way short. Yes, those are great musicians you just listed. And there are many more, but your name is right there too. I am not easy to impress, and to cover Eddie as effortlessly and so fluently as well as your other work is just killer. I have been at this for 30 years and Uncle Ben telling me why I suck at _____________ (insert technique here) and then showing me the right way to do it has made my playing better than I could ever have done with anyone else. Perhaps my being a student has made me biased, but that is how it all shakes out to me.

Charlie Foxtrot The 3rd You know what's even better? The actual old Van Halen records. It sucks that people used to support bands by going to live shows and now they support youtubers who don't even write songs on Patreon.
such a beautiful guitar. im currently saving up for one of these.
Great stuff, and i have to say that i love my favorite youtubers coming together like this. I getting my Phantomen in the mail tomorrow ;)
I knew you had to play some Ghost with this guitar. I need this in my life.
Love Uncle Ben, such a talented guitarist.

Beautiful tones!! Thanks for this
Best tone in ages. Great riff also. Nice.
I'm really digging this new body and pickguard shape. It's almost like Hagstrom has come out with an instant "classic" shape! I almost liked the Iceman shape but not quite but when I saw a Nameless Goul playing this I instantly liked it!
Mummy dust was a great choice!
This is what I have been waiting for since the release of that guitar.
Had to log in and comment just to say that Uncle Ben rocks!!

Finally some Hagstrom love. I've played them for about 6 years and own both a Swede and HJ800 and the #1 issue with all of them is the pickups. Swap those out and you have something rock solid that you can hang on a wall without worries (H truss). Seriously under rated guitars that are always let down by the pickups.
I can wholeheartedly recommend the Hagstrom range in general. I've had a Viking Deluxe for nearly two years now, and it's never let me down. Seriously reliable instrument that blows the competition (which at that price range is mainly Epiphone) out of the water. The super swede, a les paul with a 25.5 scale, is particularly fantastic.
Haven't heard of Hagstrom in years. My guitar teacher had a Super Swede and he often let me play it. I loved the hell out of that thing.
That Mummy Dust Demo kicked major ass!
Ever since this video was uploaded, I needed to have one and finally after 4 years got mine
my friend has this guitar!! and its really nice to play on light and unique.. rock on from SWEEEDEEEEN
I saw one of these at 4sound in Stockholm a few days ago when I went to see Megadeth, fantastic sounding guitar (well, judging by this demo, I didn't actually play it amplified at the store) would definetly love to see a bass version.
Recently got 1 of these, never had a neck so comfortable, as a dude with bass player hands it is a dream to play.
The pickguard resembles a nameless ghoul mask as well imo which just adds another layer of cool to the guitar design itself
Late to the party.... I see Uncle Ben I also hit like. Honestly the only guy on YT I try and learn anything from. In any case, awesome video, killer sound and great information. Thank you very much!
Wow great playing!
Plot twist: Fluff is Uncle Ben's biological stepdad.

I'm gassing for one of these hard!
The tune. Man. Very different tone wise and riffage. I like it alot
I love my Hagstrom, it's my go-to guitar now, while better known and way more expensive guitars are collecting dust.
The bass guitar tone in the mix sounded amazing...
Uncle Ben always makes things better.
I have a Hagstrom Select Ultra Swede. And I love it. I took it to a Guitar shop to get a string change. And played it along with a Gibson 2015 Les Paul Standard. The Les Paul sounded thin compared to the Hagstrom. I played them both through a Orange Dual Dark, Mesa Boogie Mk V, Peavey 6505. Hagstrom hands down, The guys in the shop couldn't believe it...

Ricardo Fernandes I got into the habit of taking my guitars in every 6-12 months for string changes and set-ups. Now I never pickup a guitar that doesn’t play fantastically. Even if it is only minor tweaks to the setup when I bring it in.

Great rendition of Mummy Dust!
More Fluff/ Uncle Ben collabs! Great stuff!
Pretty rad that you get Lundgren's on a MiC version. Not sure I'm in love with the pickguard, but it is a Ghost signature after all, and it does fit them. Laboga sounds sick btw.
@nordicomsystems8841

Those are the same as "Duncan Designed" pickups, they're not actual Lundgrens. Who knows the QC and tolerance consistency? They can be winding them up in some sweatshop in Taiwan for all we know.
I want one, i wanna play blues on it. It seems like Ia good blues guitar tbh
Bruh you’re playing Mummy Dust! I love it

Love the pickguard.
Good job Ben. Nice Vid Fluffy.
They used to use Gibson RD's until Hagstrom made the signatures. Definitely the smart move seeing as it's made for their tone and it costs a third of the price.

Laurence Nettel Nah the Gibson sigs ended when Alpha and Omega left, as the guitars belonged to them, not to the band
@AlkalineTrooper
6 жыл бұрын
Ahh right, doesn't surprise me that they didn't keep using them though. They're over £2000 each. And according to Papa, the band wasn't 'profitable' yet :P
@acarlovonsexron1994

The OG Gibson RDs had a Fender 25.5" scale and Gibson wouldn't make them like that as well. Hagstrom has a long history of making guitars with the traditional scale and the longer scale, like the Swede and the Super Swede.
@zacharytomes5202

Laurence Nettel I mean under the circumanstances, I would personally shovel out money finding more RDs. I think the real issue is Simon (Alpha) and Martin (Omega) used a custom version discountinued model (RD artist), and finding one of those is utter hell. These new guitars look decent, but Ill admit ghost lacks the big punchy sound they used to have. Live it was mostly the drowned out attempts of Papa to hit high notes, and the sounds of drums layered over bass, layered over rythmn, layered over lead (in short not the sound you want
@AlkalineTrooper

Yes I felt it similar when I saw them last. I saw them on the meliora tour and again on popestar. And the sound was noticeably different.
I do love my Hagstrom tbh

Same here! (Am I late? ;^P. )
Such a killer guitar. Those pickups sound beastly; I'd expect nothing less from Lundgren!
Hum... I've been researching this guitar for quite a while now and I've haven't seen it referred to as a signature ANYWHERE so far. I am actually thinking about asking Hagström to build a custom version of this for me. Don't know if they do that though... 🤔 Anyways, the first time i saw this in a shop over here in Norway, the first thought I had was: wow, that's beautiful! I NEED one! The second thought was: Fluff should see this! 😄👍
This is a perfect budget ‘Kurt Ballou’ sound guitar. Crunchy and airy - and even has that Rick guitar look to it.
3:00 It's funny your uh.. truss rod adjuster door cover.. thingy.. says "FANTAMEN" instead of "FANTOMEN" Nice Mummy Dust cover from Uncle Ben and yourself \m/
thats a sweet design! could you compare it to a gibson explorer? Im especially interested if it balances as nice, when you play it live.
I love it a cover of mummy dust for the demo, how fitting
I preordered one in back a couple of weeks ago from Pitbull Audio. $700. 🤘🏻
I strongly believe that Ghost guys are playing some custom shop Hagstroms instead of generally available imports.
FIRST! That guitar sounds really great man! Are you gonna do a riff contest at 200K subs fluff?
Ben is the man
Your ceiling lamp is awesome! Where can I get one?
I owe Hagstrom Super Swede and I can tell you man - they know their shit when it comes to making great value/quality ratio. So I'm adamant that this beast is a brilliant piece of low-mid range axe. :)
Awesome cover, Fluff. Thoughts on the new Epiphone RD sig for the dude from BMTH?
Hey Fluff, sounds very nice. What are your thoughts on the Resinator fretboard? Overall feel, note definition, comparison to ebony? Thanks bro :)
Awesome Guitar..... a Beast 😈
"These pickups are not voiced for extreme metal, more middle hard rock" proceeds to play in a heavily dropped tuning and chug along lul.

@@papaemeritusthe3rd318 I'm 51...I remember when "Sunshine Of Your Love" was considered heavy, then "Smoke On The Water" was considered heavy, then "Iron Man" was considered heavy, then "Rainbow In The Dark" was considered heavy, then "Black Magic" was considered heavy, then "Suffer The Children", then "Davidian" and so on and so on....it's all relative. "Mummy Dust" is considered heavy to my Aunt.
Hey Fluff I'm really in love with this shape of guitar, do you know(or somebody else) which guitars from which company have the same or a similar shape like this one?
oh man sweet tone fucking heavy . also nice tan you got there
This tune is so fuckin awesome!
They got it in baritone? I have an Eastwood Sidejack deluxe baritone thats sweet.
wow so nice.
The demo song is Mummy Dust, as you probably guessed by Ghost.
Fluff, that bass tone is effing great. How did you got that one? Your fans (some others here in the comment section + me) want to know. Next video idea?
This one or the Epiphone Lee Malia Signature RD?
Wish they stuck with the RDs, but these still look pretty neat (you should review the Lee Malia Sig RD that came out).
How is it stay in tune? I just purchased a used one setup in drop C , Im thinking about putting fishman willie adlers in it
Not sure if someone mentioned but the name Fantomen is based on a comic book character, used to be very popular in Sweden. English wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Phantom
Hey dude nice playing, do you like the eastwood or the hagstrom more?:)
