@@alexisvnc I mean lots of these power lifters are friends with organizers and judges. Eddie Hall is friends with Colin Bryce. Martins Licis is friends with Magnus Ver Magnusson. I think he'd have gotten 1000 if he wasn't sick just two days before. He lost 5kg of bodyweight over those two days. That's massively impactful. I recently lost 11kg of bodyweight myself due to an illness, and looked like a husk of my former self. I've since gained it back, but that took months. I can imagine it made all the difference. Edit: And as said in the comments, Thor didn't even accept this as an excuse when it was Kelsey mentioning it, not himself. What a legendary mindset. That's why he's the best.

I’m confused because guys like Colin Weng are doing 500lb bench easy and Thor was worlds strongest man, so shouldn’t he be doing way more? I know a good amount about weightlifting. I’m guessing it’s because he doesn’t train these specific movements?

Well John Haack has a lot less range to move the weight, and he's hyper-specialized in those three movements. Thor comes out of boxing, gains a bit of weight, preps for 6 wks, and totals 970 kg while missing lifts lol.

Its Thor's 2nd meet ever both with only 6 weeks preps and no other specific training. He has lifted very little of naything in over 2 years and is getting used to a 60kg smaller body. John has literally done 100's of meets and is a full time powerlifter and his weight flucates 20lbs max.
