    Same, mine is the blue edition with three 230mm fans. I still use it daily as a work/office PC for doing data recovery and it not only moves a ton of air but does so very quietly. I honestly had no clue for the longest time that 8-core bulldozers were considered toasters because even with the stock (pre-)wraith spire my 8120 (@4.0AC) never topped 60C. The excessive amount of 5.25" bays is no longer useful but the 5 full-size HDD bays definitely still are!

    Great to see the HAF line from CM again. Great cases for components cooling! I’d move the 200mm fans to the top of the case for improved air flow and place a 360 Rad on the front panel with the 200mm fans airflow being 30% or so cut off by the front panel design. The Rubberised 2.5” SSD standoffs are a stroke of genius 🤩🤯! I would to see this up against the Torrent case 🥰👍🥳

    I noticed that restricted opening in the front that blocks most of the airflow potential of 200mm fans immediately. I would think that they would make that front radiator mount removable so that you could get the full potential of those big fans...seems kind of pointless to have such large fans otherwise.

    A little bit bigger, but definitely a good competitor to the LanCool 215 in design. Significant oversight with the amount of metal occluding the 200mm fans in either the top or front configurations. The front fans look to have somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 their total surface area covered. Top mounting is harder to guess with the grate, but certainly more than nothing.

  • @dabneyoffermein595

    Why did you say that the 200mm are blocked on the top option mount? Looks like plenty of airflow with this video example. What is the alternative? Cut some sheet metal out of the front? I am a fabricator, so I can do about anything I want and will do some welding wherever I need to and I have lots of extra sheet-metal that I can use,. I can also do plastic moulding pours and epoxy fabrications along with any mod on the face of the earth that I feel fit. So give me some ideas and I will run with it and come up with a beast.

    Disagreed: The thermal efficiency on top is better not because "less area is obstructed" but bc heat rises (and would build up in an area with lower flow and higher turbulence) than in the front. On the top, you're going with the thermodynamic flow. In the front, you're creating one that doesn't otherwise exist (IMO).

    Well that was…. interesting. I’m still in the HAF from over 10 years ago. It’s unfortunate that I found most of the thoughtful “niceties” to actually be infuriating. The pegs in the trays are frickin horrible to deal with. The pivoting clamps to hold your expansion cards can kind of be annoying or an issue, but I ended up breaking my top one immediately because I didn’t realize how they actually worked. Couldn’t tell if this case had those. And of course the front I/O panel fried immediately because that was a thing. No dust filter in the front (maybe behind the fans?) makes no sense to me. So much dust.

    I don"t personally like the way the 200mm fans are positioned into the frame. A typical PC fan has the greatest airflow on the end of the propeller (which is blocked by the mounting positions for other fans). I'm a physics fan so that thing really annoys me. I'm also a owner of the original H500 and I had to cut these mounting positions for maximum air intake. Yes, I have sacrificed mounting for cooling radiator, but I can 3D print it If I need it. Just my opinion. NO OFFENSE.

    Am I high or does having no dust filter on the front intake, but using dust filter on top exhaust is completely backwards. Detrimental to the reason dust filters are used, and overtime with exhaust airflow efficiency. Dust is going to build up on the inside of the case extra fast now with a filter to not let it out hahaha. Genuinely concerned on why they did this... If I ran this case, I'd have to use top as the intake pulling through dust filter, and flip the front fans around to use as exhaust. This way I wouldn't have to deep clean the pc every month since everything inside will b coated in dust because 2 massive intake fans with no filter. Ahh I see they are using the PC case as a room dust air filter, sure to suck up all the free dust in the air from the moment it's powered on. Guaranteed! ;)

  • @LB_Amerijuanican

    @LB_Amerijuanican

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@iaial0 I disagree. No such thing as "act" like a filter... Those front designs get packed full of dust in a couple months, as well as a nice coating across the entire case inside including on GPU backplate plus the motherboard. I live in a dry area, and regardless of how many times vacuumed or using humidifier to help with dust, still a problem. Running my pc without an actual removable dust filter, is an instant no go for me lol. Also meaning a true real dust filter, and not basically old school metal speaker grill covers as the NR400 resembles lol jk. HAF500 is a pretty awesome case idea/look. Just certain areas that deal with dry low humidity causing dust, then it may become problematic. It would have been relatively easy to have a dust filter incorporated for front. What gets me, a dust filter on exhaust. The only thing it will do is end up blocking airflow trying to be sucked out of the case. All of the air including the dust coming from the front will be slammed up against the exhaust dust filter first, then has to be pushed through. Exhaust airflow should be pulling out, not forced to push out. There's a huge difference. With in a month I can guarantee the top dust filter on haf500 is going to be showing a decent bit of dust on the inside. As well as all the dust near rear exhaust, and backside cpu cooler/top gpu backplate. Been there, cleaned way too much, and stopped buying any case with these type of airflow setups. It goes against fluid dynamics and common sense. A PC case does not need dust filters before air exhausting out of case, that is unless your trying to keep the pc from dusting up your room? lmao doesn't make sense. Also, unless the front panel is basically a thin microfiber cloth, then I'm good - I'll pass.

    Nice, they fixed the only thing I didn't like about my H500P Mesh, by making the top way more breathable. Edit: p.s Oh yeah wild they made it a lot more skinny, kinda hurts those 200mm fans on the front.

    At this point deepcool & antec $100 cases have better build quality & looks & materials than this but features are great just wish it looked & made like the HAF X.

    Lol...half of those 200mm fans are blocked by fan mounting hardware behind them and half of the bottom one is blocked by the HDD cage. And those are 200s, so low airflow to begin with... I don't know why nobody does it like Fractal Define S, with 3 HDD cages on the back, where they're not in the way of anything (and still manage to stay cool, my 2 HDDs don't go over 40 degrees there). That case has some of the best internal layout, with no HDD cages or PSU shroud, all open internals with plenty of room for water cooling in front and a fan mount on the bottom to help cool the GPU if needed. Not that it does need help, my 1080Ti doesn't go over 70 degrees in gaming, even with that closed off front panel, and I only use 3 case fans in total. I swear, modern case design has regressed with all the "form over function" crap they do these days... /rant

    200mm aren't low airflow....... Low speed, high volume, not low airflow by any means. But yes, the metal bits in front of them blocking the fan down aren't good.

    HAF the legend? I have been duped into buying one by believing the Linus Tech review. It is a low quality case and it's only saving grace was features that were new at the time.

    That's a pretty decent case for the money. The plastic tabs on the panels are pretty much guaranteed to break through repeated use, though.
