The second movement to me is one of the most beautiful and sweetest movements in the whole repertoire. The way the the organist interacts with the soloist is perfect. Bravo Richter. Bravo Munich Bach orchestra.

This concerto for its greatness and thematic development reminds me of Beethoven and romantic composers. The concert op 7 no1 and op 7 no3 also give me that feeling. Händel was sometimes ahead of his time. Händel + Richter = Perfection

I love this old-school-old style orchestra. Everything very conservative and academic: starting from dresses and ending with performance.

The first movement is almost Romantic in its raw emotional expression

Absolutely. I've always thought the same. The first movement for its greatness and thematic development reminds me of Beethoven and romantic composers. The concerto op 7 no1 and op 7 no 3 also give me that feeling. Händel was sometimes ahead of his time

Karl Richter is the world's greatest organist of all time. He died in 1981 aged 54. Such an incredible talent from this humble and self effacing man. A true genius.

I’d venture to say that Handel himself likely was an even better organist. From what we know, he was an astounding master virtuoso on both organ and harpsichord. It sealed his fame in Italy when very young.

Could be Hedwig Bilgram (*1933), she must have been around 40 when the concert was recorded. She used to play with Karl Richter (her teacher) a lot.
