I think Artemis isn’t romantically into Zagreus and it’s more that she wants a friend that’s more grounded and chill like her rather than all high and mighty. She’s obviously exhausted while interacting with other gods.

If the story of Polyphonte is anything to go by. I'd say Aphrodite is just trying to push Artemis into breaking her vow. Aphrodite really hates it when someone swears of love and procreation. Come to think about it that might be why Artemis isolates herself and seems so awkward in game. Aphrodite is always trying to influence her.

I can never choose against Artemis when the gods want Zag to pick a side. She's the only one who seems to want to meet him as a person... except maybe Athena, (who is more emotionally matured, and thus expects the family politics) and Dionysus (who forgets slights against him as quickly as they're dealt).

@@Stiftoad She seems to be the most hurt by your betrayal as well. While most of the gods get over it immediately after you clear the room, a lot of Artemis’ post-battle lines have her insulting you or saying stuff like “I guess everything is fine now” in an extremely sarcastic tone.

@@knightshousegames It's left ambiguous throughout mythology if Arty cavorting in the forest with her nymph squad included certain 'recreational' indulgences. Lesbianism wasn't necessarily considered to violate chastity by the ancient Greeks. e.g. There are several versions of the story of Callisto, one of Artemis's nymph companions. But a few of them clearly imply that Artemis was _jealous_ that Zeus impregnated Callisto, not just angry in principle.

She thinks of him as a kindred spirit, that’s what I think Supergiant was going for. Considering how he’s mythologically the Cthonic God of the Hunt, they share similar spheres of influence. So not romantically inclined, but she is hopeful for a strong friendship.

I'm a bit disappointed that the relationship between Artemis and Athena wasn't more positive, given their similarities. After all, while they don't appear in many myths together, there are still a few examples showing they may have a good relationship: in the myth of Persephone, she was dancing with and picking flowers in a field with Artemis and Athena, suggesting that the three of them were close when they were young. Plus, there was a vase painting that depicted Artemis and Athena in a chariot together; I love the thought of them as "bash sisters" or something. True, they were on opposing sides in the Trojan War, but the two never specifically fought each other (Athena was too busy whooping Aphrodite, while Artemis got her @$$ handed to her by Hera). The only time I can think of these two in direct conflict with one another was when Heracles and Apollo were having a tug-of-war over the tripod of Delphi; Athena came in to support Heracles while Artemis supported Apollo.

I do not know whether or not us thinking that people were that ignorant is a result of trying to cover up for the misfortune that were certain Europe's royal family trees at a certain period of time or Christianity "showing us how bad it was before it appeared" as usual, even tho it itself did not stand in the way in its early ages. There are documents that consanguinial mariages were frowned upon all around, albiet, not strictly forbidden in ancient Greece, I'll give you that. Plus, it's Artemis we are talking about, aka "the maiden goddess". Aka, "will kill ya if ya try anything funny". Aka "the one of the more sane gods above the sea level".

I just want two people to love eachother's identity outside of their physical appearance, like, sure, a heavier body for example has had a great many more fans in past ages but that should stop none from rocking a more cozy and powerful appearance, especially if it brings out the best in you! My other favorite asexual ship is Chun Lee and Ryu in Street Fighter. They are just so sweet.
