HA-HSF, Kamov Ka-26 - Test flight with brand new color scheme

In addition to the scheduled maintenance, HSF got a beautiful new coat and brand new windshields as well. Last year, both of her engines were overhauled, now she is in quite good conditions. Congratulations to the professionals for the beautiful work!

This helicopter was produced in 1976 in Kumertau (Russia), she started her career in the fleet of Aeroflot as CCCP-19668. Later she become UR-19668 and was used for pipeline control in the Kiev region under Spec-Avia titles. She stood derelight for some years in Kiev-Borodyanka airfield, then in 2011 Urbán Ltd. bought and brought her to Hungary. She got the current registration nr. and started to operate as a crop duster helicopter with HA-MMD and HA-MRN. Her main base now is at Őcsény airfield.
Kamov Ka-26 is a multi-purpose, light helicopter, invented by N.I. Kamov in the middle of the 1960s. First flight of this type was in August 18, 1965, she was mainly used for agricultural tasks, passenger transport, cargo transport, pipe inspection and also for traffic controll by the State Automobile Inspectorate (GAI). This type has two Vedeneyev M14-V-26 petrol powered, four stroke radial engines with 9 cyl. and 325 hp each. Due to the relatively low airspeed of the helicopter, to maintain the proper cylinder head and oil temperatures, the engines were produced with an iron fan, which makes the unique siren sound, and it is often believed that Ka-26 is driven by gas turbines.
Due to the co-axial main rotor system this type is extremely benign, the vast majority of pilots loves and loved it to fly.

A tervezett karbantartás mellett a HA-HSF új színeket és új plexiket kapott. A tavalyi évben mindkét motorja nagyjavításon esett át, jelen pillanatban meglehetősen jó állapotnak örvend. Gratulálok a szakembereknek a gyönyörű munkáért!
A Kamov Ka-26-os egy többcélú, könnyű helikopter, N.I. Kamov által került kifejlesztésre az 1960-as évek közepén. Első repülése 1965.augusztus.18.-án történt, alapvetően mezőgazdasági, személy- és teherszállítási, vezeték-ellenőrzési feladatkörökre használták, de alkalmazta forgalomellenőrzésre az orosz közlekedésrendészet (GAI) is. A típus kettő Vegyenejev M14-V-26 benzinüzemű, négyütemű, 9 hengeres, egyenként 325 lóerő leadására képes csillagmotorral lett felszerelve. A helikopter viszonylag alacsony sebessége miatt, a megfelelő hengerfej- és olajhőmérsékletek fenntartásának érdekében a motorok öntöttvas ventillátorral készültek, ennek köszönhetik egyedi, "sikító" hangjukat, ami miatt gyakran hiszik, hogy a Ka-26-ost gáztubinák hajtják.
A koaxiális elrendezés miatt ez a típus rendkívül jóindulatú, a pilóták döntő többsége szereti és szerette repülni.

    I just love those machines, I wish we had them in Scotland, the noise they make are unique and amazing. I just love the way they fly. Brilliant machines. The rotors look as if they have very little clearance from the aircraft body when they first turn, but that is maybe a bit of illusion? I am just amazed at how quick they turn when crop spraying, I would just love to do that in them. Might have a brown pants moment, but i would love it! :-))

    This is boggling.... Counter rotating rotors, radial engines, twin boom, tires instead of skids.... This designer didn't follow ordinary helicopter engineering standards, AND I AM THOROUGHLY GRATEFUL...

    It seams it is easyer to fly as a conventional helicopter, you don't need rudder to cancel ou the momentum of the main rotor, only for changing direction like a fixed wing airplane. Is it less prone to ring vortexing as well?

    Hello my Aviation Brothers. I'm a retired US Navy Air Traffic Controller. Love aviation, started flying at 15. How much to come to your beautiful airfield and learn to fly, obviously from the seat of one's pants. The airplanes at the end of the runway, your helo's. If Elon Musk accepts payment for space flights, how much to come and learn to fly at 63 year's old?

    how does this helicopter yaw? (except the rudders)

  • @meadmaker4525

    @meadmaker4525

    2 жыл бұрын

    When using the collective, both rotor discs respond together. When using the rudder pedals, collective is slightly reduced or increased in one rotor versus the other, creating the same yaw effect that requires single-rotor helicopters to have a tail rotor. The rudders don't have much effect at low speed, but rather provide stability and control in forward flight with enough airflow over them to allow for some rudder authority.
