Imma just do this for anyone who is confused about the fact that this is called a "Super Sirex" instead of a "Sirex". There is a photo of a single head super sirex that was tested in Des Moines, Iowa from a newspaper article , that clearly shows the lettering "Super Sirex 15" on the side of the siren. The actual HOR Sirex was an omnidirectional 10 horsepower siren. There are currently only 4 Omni Sirexes that are active, three in Massapequa, New York, and one in Arbyrd, MO. There used to be units in Phoenix, Arizona and there was one in West Hempstead, NY.

At a distance, you can tell that it does make a difference. Much of the noise comes out of the intake. Its not about the path of the air in one direction out of the ports, the it's vibrations set up by the sudden block, and release of air within an impeller. It's a kinetic oscillator.
