The RJ-11 cable is a good idea. Why couldn't fire alarm manufacturers design a control panel that has some RJ-11 or RJ-45 jacks on the board and have annunciators that could be hookeed up to the panel using a telephone cable or even a Catagory 3 cable. A cat 3 is designed for low speed (10 Mbps) ethernet connections as well as telephone systems.

I got an Amseco security alarm horn that sounds the same continuous note as the MASS in your bedroom.

Thanks for the nice words! Latching relay circuits keep the relay powered by a continuous loop, that loop is where the reset button is.

To be honest, I'm not fully sure. Every Mass I have seems to be stuck on that tone, even if I mess with the jumpers. The ones in this video even had varying jumper settings, and they still all had the same tone (I was gonna have one of them on 2400 HZ, but it just didn't work).

I have a KZread channel where I test video cameras. I used to do this thing called the "red tape test", where I'd point the camera at the fan and turn it on. It was sort of meant to gauge how good the camera was at picking up motion... I don't really do it anymore and I'm just too lazy to take it down :P
