Imma just do this for anyone who is confused about the fact that this is called a "Super Sirex" instead of a "Sirex". There is a photo of a single head super sirex that was tested in Des Moines, Iowa from a newspaper article , that clearly shows the lettering "Super Sirex 15" on the side of the siren. The actual HOR Sirex was an omnidirectional 10 horsepower siren. There are currently only 4 Omni Sirexes that are active, three in Massapequa, New York, and one in Arbyrd, MO. There used to be units in Phoenix, Arizona and there was one in West Hempstead, NY.

@@dank980 I wrote that comment a little while back but now I know that it’s a super sirex. There are 2 versions of the super sirex: The 15 horsepower (the one in this video) and the model 50 (the one in Adrian MO)

This siren gives me so much chills, imagining hearing this at night. Edit: There is just so many rare sirens in Ohio, this one is a unique one.

There were hurricanes in Ohio, but they were taken down. Also there’s an Alertor, an AL-4000, and a whelen 3016. I know the T-128, hornets, and this super Sirex are still up.

it's important to note; these aren't eas alarms, they're outdoor warning sirens controlled individually by each county and city. EAS alarms are part of an alerting system controlled by the US government.

Wow.. the only one of 3 sirens they didn’t replace.. (The B-series, the 4/5, and this.)

This was put up in 1954 according to the city. There are no plans to refurbish it. It will run until it dies.
