Wow! The grandeur of that sound has such impact even through a KZread upload of an old video tape recording. I can only imagine what that sounds like in person... And what impact a grand church organ like this must have had on listeners in the old days, when there was no audio recording, or noise pollution, and this was one of your only exposures to music, or even to sound of this volume. It must have inspired feelings of divine communion.

Yes, this lady has to be among the best we have ever known in a field seemingly dominated by men, great though many of them are. Perhaps my favorite organ video of all time was a number of years ago when she & her film crew went to Scione (did I spell that right?) Switzerland to record the oldest playable pipe organ in the world. Don't know exactly how much of it is original, having, I'm sure, an extensive amount of work done to it since its 1390 origins & it's a relatively "simple" arrangement, having only a short single keyboard. After all in 1390 one didn't run down to the local hardware store to buy anything. Every single part from the largest pipe to the smallest piece of mechanical hardware had to be custom made, by hand, for its specific application. So, no point making the thing bigger or more complex than absolutely necessary. However the finished product is truly amazing & with whatever limitations it may have is one of the best sounding organs I have ever heard & is superbly showcased by Ms. Bish. Simply awesome!
