I first heard the music for the Royal Fireworks when I was 8 back in the 60’s, and it was a revelation to a young man who had grown up with the Beetles etc, I could not believe what I was hearing, and started a lifetime love affair with Baroque music, and especially George Frideric Handel. I still have the record to this day.

Similar for me; still think he is underrated even though he is so popular now!

Amazing! I had a similar epiphany when I was 8 years old. I heard a performance of Messiah, and that was that. I was hooked. I love the Baroque, and Händel is THE absolute Titan of not only the Baroque but of Music.
"A Grand Overture of Warlike Instruments" as Handel's masterpiece was presented at the time. After all the King had specifically said..."no fiddles." On that first performance he used 24 oboes, 12 bassoons, 9 horns, 9 trumpets and 3 drums. He added the strings later for the next performance of the work at his charity concert for the Foundling Hospital on May 27th, 1749.

Baroque music is wonderful... Handel especially 💙🎶
I want this played whenever i enter a room. 😅🎉❤
The first time I heard this, I knew it had to be my wedding march; just perfect.
Wundervoll, welch Leidenschaft und Freude!
As fresh today, as when Handel wrote it 249 years ago. Can't say that about many modern artists.

@@billymeyer99I’m not sure if they have holes or not. It seems like they might have at least one under the right thumb, but I don’t know enough about horns. Anyway, the trumpets have holes, they are definitely modern instruments. But I agree with you: it sounds great!
@TheMovieCreator

@@gangflow9139 A lot of the horns and trumpets available at Händels time were indeed made with holes for adjusting intonation a little bit. This is to make some of the pitches in the "Natural" harmonic series more in tune with the common diatonic scale. In short, using the holes right will make previously unusable "harsh" overtones sound passable enough to be used. Still not enough for actually changing the tones in the horn, so free chromatic play is completely off the table - hence the need for multiple tuning-loops!
@kevwang0712

@@TheMovieCreator True, but these did not serve the same function as the vent holes used in modern-day baroque trumpets (as opposed to natural trumpets that have no vent holes at all). Modern day vent holes are bored at specific places on the tube where nodes in the standing wave form, when the finger is released, nodes will not be able to form at those locations, which means that certain harmonics are unable to be played, thus making playing easier while also changing the nature of the harmonic series that can be played.
Hearing Handel on period instruments is so inspiring. Amazing rendition. I can’t help but notice that the bows for strings are baroque as well.
I never heard Handel in this wonderful shiny way. The old/original instruments are of course one building brick... the orchestra, the conductor... Well done !

What an all-encompassing soul-stirring, goose-bump inducing feast for the ears! I listen to this at least once a week, best enjoyed with eyes closed, at loudest volume, reclining in my car with the windows rolled up. Every musical section played alone would fall short, but in convergent succession, trading off the spotlight, the crisp trills of the trumpets, steady notes of the horns, the smooth fluidity of the strings, the tinkly harpsichord, steady undernotes of the tenor and bass cellos, peppy joining of the woodwinds, commanding entrance of the drums, all swelling to a great emotion-filled crescendo that doesn't get much better than at 13:06 ("La Rejouissance"). The music has life of its own. Another ethereal experience brought to you, courtesy of western civilization and the genius of George Frederic Handel. There is little more you could hear that rivals the majesty of this piece. Bravo, brava, bravissimo!! I

Of course, a truly authentic rendition would have the entire stage go up in flames with fireworks exploding in all directions. Which is, in fact exactly what happened.

Terrific playing of Handel. How they can play those brass instruments so well is just amazing. Merrowyn
The triumph of heaven in your ears
Best variation I have heard. The trumpets sound amazing😄
This suite and the Water Music suite have always been memorable for me. I heard them at my aunt's house first in the late forties when I was about seven, and enjoyed them both so much my poor father had to buy me records of both for Christmas. Buying Handel records back then, immediately post WW2 in Australia was no easy task, but bless him he found them. Thanks for this terrific download with the old instruments in force and so very well played too.

Magnífica musica de Handel, parabéns a toda orquestra, de Salvador na Bahia Brasil envio votos de longa vida a música barroca.
einfach faszinierend diese Interpretation, diese Musik von Händel..................
You guys sure aced that. I really do think that was the best performance of the work I have ever heard. I have heard a lot!
This is a near perfect rendition of one of the greatest soul-inspiring compositions by G. F. Handel. Indeed, the composition proved to be fireworks with tangential affiliations to our souls and spirits.
Absolutely stunning performance. Never heard it so beautifully interpreted and played in my life. And those trumpets!
Great sound; Amazing The woods (oboe and basson) sound magnific. I loved the horns
Absolutely great music and musicians Thank you so much for bringing IT to us and into the world❤
can't take my eyes off the concertmaster! her movements are so huge, she's easier to follow than the conductor 🤭😬

Wonderful! No diminution in spirit from the Archiv recording of decades ago. Further words are incapable of meaningfully describing this performance. From a general perspective, an oasis of enlightenment in a World Hell bent on descent into neolithic pandemonium and existentially threatening conflict.

🤩 wonderful
I do not know how many musicians form this ensemble but as far as the cameraman is concerned it seems there is only about ten, show everyone will you!!!!
